While turning left from left turn lane, eyesight failed to detect oncoming traffic resulting in right front side impact. No warning, no braking action. This is an advertised safety system supposedly designed to prevent this type of accident. In addition, passenger side airbag deployed (no passenger in the passenger seat) but driver side airbag did not deploy. Newton's third law of motion says both should deploy. Significant injury occurred to the driver as a result.
Parasitic drain cause by the CAN system, which causes the battery to randomly die, batter has been replaced, alternator and starter have been tested. When the battery has low voltage this also shuts down the cars safety features like forward Collision and cruise control. The head unit in the car is also malfunctioning, causing it randomly turn on and off while driving, button s being pressed on their own which is a huge distraction while driving. Subaru has not been willing to assist.
The infotainment system in my 2019 Subaru Outback glitched/ stops working randomly. I have a video of the touchscreen glitching and making selections betweens apps by itself. Also, I've started having random alerts pop up on the dash, such as: " obstacle ahead" when there is not an obstacle ahead or "roads may be icy" when it is 60 degrees outside. I reported it to Subaru, which they advised me to take it to Crown Subaru to have them take a look at it and they can submit a claim. I took it to the Crown Subaru & when I told them the problem, the lady that helped me stated, " yeah, this is common, I know exactly what your talking about." She then called another employee and told him she needed a quote for a infotainment center that was delaminating and was making selections on it's own. A week...
I subscribe to Subaru Star Link from the time I first purchased our Outback in 2019. The system does not continuously perform correctly. I have taken our Outback to the dealer and they try to recalibrate the unit, but it does not continue to perform correctly. In March of 2023 I was in an accident and Star Link did not notify the police. When we called the police they stated that they received no notification from Star Link. On February 23, 2024 youngsters tried to break into our Outback the Police saw this incident and expressed surprise that Star Link gave them no notification. Can not manage to get Star Link to continuously work. Unit does not give traffic warnings.
The front windshield developed a star crack two inches above the base and in the middle. The crack then expanded upward and to the left, and down to the base. There is no evidence of an impact from any object. The windshield crack was treated with Silicone Repair. After one day another crack developed from the same source went upward and then to the left in one direction and also down to the base in another direction. This again was treated with Silicone Repair. I am contacting my insurance company to have the whole windshield replaced. Sine the Subaru Outback has Eyesight function this will need to be done through a dealer. This will be the second windshield replacement for this this vehicle for the same reason. Purchased a low mileage, 2019 Subaru Outback Limited, had 16,407 miles on vehicle, had accident damage reported by CARFAX. At 27,383 miles an oil leak in valve cover gasket was discovered, Subaru fixed leak under warranty, engine removed. Upon driving the vehicle home following repairs, the car lunged forward through the garage door, into the garage, and damaged vehicle and garage interior as I approached the garage. Sudden acceleration occurred. Vehicle taken on flag bed to Subaru shop for repairs and investigation of incident by Subaru of America. Insurance company provided damage/repair estimate.
I was in a parking lot pulling into a parking spot. My car sped with full power over a curb barrier and hit a parked car in front of me. The force was strong enough to push the car I hit back several inches. My airbag did not deploy. The forward obstacle collision detection did not work. My safety could have been at risk if this happened while on the road or freeway. There were no warnings that day, however a week or so earlier when I tried to drive the car it would not start (new battery installed approx 3 months ago) and all lights on the dash came on. I tried to start it a few times but after smelling gas I left it. Later that day it started with no problems. The car is up to date on services/recalls. It is scheduled for inspection with my insurance...
Within the three years I have owned this vehicle my windshield has crack with only minor impact or no impack at all to the windshield; the cost of paying for a second windshield replacement is an unreasonable expense something is wrong with the glass integrity of these vehicles.
Two windshield cracking incidents in 6 months, from no apparent cause. Interferes with “eyesight” system.
Driving down a smooth road with no vehicles in front of me on July 13, 2021. Windshield spontaneously cracked at the base in the center. Not a rock chip. Crack spread up 6 inches, left another 6 inches within the 15 minutes it took to drive home. Cracks in the windshield have continued to spread in the days following. Vehicle has total 25,300 miles on odometer.
Unknown... My battery has need a jump several time without any electricals left on. The dealer did check it out and found nothing wrong. I also have lights that go on intermittently n the dash saying that certain things are not working. ie front crash detection, blind spot warning and lane departure.
Drove into the Walgreen's parking lot, made several low speed turns to arrive at the west side of the building. Pulled into an empty parking space. Entered parking space at very low rate of speed and proceeded to brake to a full stop. Moved shift lever with the intent to move transmission from Drive to Park and despite my foot still being on the brake, the car suddenly lurched forward, drove over the curb and sidewalk, crossed sidewalk and hit the side of the store (a brick wall). Car bounced back to a midpoint of the sidewalk. Engine was still running but car came to a full stop. I turned off the engine. Two Walgreen employees came out to see if I was OK (they heard the impact). I told them I was but later my chest hurt and I found a bruise suggesting impact with the steering wheel. Entire...
Today May 22 around 4:19 PM no cars close to us while driving we had the front windshield spontaneously crack there was no impact there was no impact heard all we heard was like cracking sound I have seen online where Subaru is using an acoustic type of glass and people are reporting cracked windshields I would like to have this investigated furthermore I’d like to have Subaru repair my vehicle.
BATTERY DRAINED AFTER 25,000 MILES
I WENT TO DRIVE MY CAR AND NOTICED A LARGE WINDSHIELD CRACK THAT IS GETTING LARGER. THERE WAS NO TRAUMA OR EVENT THAT CAUSED THIS TO HAPPEN.
THE FRONT WINDSHIELD ON MY 2019 SUBARU OUTBACK SPONTANEOUSLY CRACKED IN THE AREA OF THE DEICER STRIP AT THE BOTTOM LOWER RIGHT PORTION OF THE WINDOW. I WAS DRIVING THE VEHICLE AT THE TIME ON A STATE HIGHWAY. THE VEHICLE WAS PURCHASED BRAND NEW FROM WILDE SUBARU IN WAUKESHA, WI. I CONTACTED THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY WOULDN'T DO ANYTHING ABOUT THE PROBLEM.
THE WINDSHIELD ON MY 2019 SUBARU OUTBACK HAS CRACKED TWICE SINCE I LEASED IT ON 4/11/2019. THE CRACKS REQUIRE THE WINDSHIELD TO BE REPLACED AND THE DRIVER ASSIST FEATURES TO BE RECALIBRATED. EACH CRACKED OCCURRED WHEN THE CAR WAS IN MOTION ON THE HIGHWAY.
I WAS DRIVING DOWN THE FREEWAY AND MY WINDSHIELD SPONTANEOUSLY CRACKED AT THE TOP MIDDLE EDGE AND SHOT DOWN ALMOST HALFWAY ACROSS THE WINDSHIELD. A ROCK ON ANY OTHER OBJECT DID NOT HIT MY WINDSHIELD. IT JUST SIMPLY BROKE SPONTANEOUSLY. DUE TO THIS BREAK THE FORWARD COLLISION SENSOR IS NOW FAILING AND WARNING ME TO GET MY CAR SERVICE. THIS PROBLEM IS WELL DOCUMENTED THROUGH OTHER COMPLAINS AND EXISTING LAWSUITS.
FRONT WINDSHIELD CRACKED WHILE VEHICLE PARKED IN DRIVEWAY. CRACK IS IN PASSENGER SIDE EXTENDING FROM SIDE ACROSS AND CURVING UP. HAD SEVERAL WINDSHIELD REPAIRS NEAR CENTER OF GLASS BEFORE. MILEAGE IS JUST UNDER 34,000 MILES.
THIS IS MY SECOND WINDSHIELD THAT WAS REPLACED ON 12/08/2020 I WALKED OUT TO MY CAR WHICH HAD BEEN PARKED IN THE DRIVE WAY SINCE 12/30/2020 AND NOTICED THE WINDSHIELD WAS CRACKED FROM THE BOTTOM PASSENGER SIDE UNDER THE BLACK WINDOW TRIM I CALLED THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY SAID TO CALL MY INSURANCE. THERE IS NO CHIP NO NOTHING JUST THE CRACK LEADING FROM THE BOTTOM TO THE MIDDLE OF THE WINDOW NOW
I WAS PICKING MY SON UP FROM SCHOOL WHEN THE CRACK STARTED, AS I SAT IN THE PARKING LOT IT CONTINUED DOWN AND ACROSS THE CENTER OF THE WINDSHIELD. THERE WERE NO CHIPS OR DINGS TO BE FOUND. I DO BELIEVE IT CAUSES THE FORWARD CRASH INDICATOR TO TRIP SOONER THAN IT SHOULD.
