2025 RAM 2500 Electrical System Problems

The contact was made aware that the VIN was associated with NHTSA Campaign Number: 26V059000 (Exterior Lighting, Electrical System); however, the part to do the recall repair was not yet available. The contact stated that several dealers were contacted. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The dealer confirmed that parts were not yet available for the recall repair and informed the contact that the parts were being rationed. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was not made aware of the issue. The contact had not experienced a failure.

My Trailer Control Module failed when I hooked my travel trailer up to my truck to tow for a weekend trip. This was the first time I hooked my 2018 travel trailer to my truck. The lights started blinking erratically and then the module quit responding completely and I was not able to tow without brakes and lights. There is a new recall issued for this part but my VIN isn’t showing up as eligible. I was forced to pay out of pocket to have my TCM replaced because they tried to blame my trailer. In addition to the previously documented issues, the vehicle shuts down while driving, forcing me to immediately pull over, place the vehicle in park, and restart the engine in order to continue driving. This condition has occurred unexpectedly and without warning. Losing power while the vehicle is in motion presents a serious safety risk, especially during highway or interstate driving. Given that I rely on this truck for work and frequently travel long distances between New Jersey and Texas, this behavior makes the vehicle unsafe and unreliable for its intended use. While driving in 4x4 on a snow covered road, the truck simultaneously got a check engine light as well as several other error messages to include service required to the emergency braking and the trailer brake controller. At the same time, the full exhaust brake engaged without any driver input and caused a sudden slowing of the truck's tires on a slippery surface. The owners manual specifically warns "Do not use the exhaust brake feature when driving in icy or slippery conditions as the increased engine braking can cause the rear wheels to slide and the vehicle to swing around with the possible loss of vehicle control, which may cause a collision possibly resulting in personal injury or death." All warning lights flash for trailer when connected. ( CHECK TRAILER CONNECTION, TAILER BRAKE DISCONNECT, SERVICE TRAILER BRAKE SYSTEM) More active when dark out.(early morning, nights). Same error with different trailers.

The infotainment display continues to flicker after the B4C safety recall was completed at the dealer. This is quite distracting while driving

The instrument cluster failed completely. All gauges were offline, and the vehicle became stuck in the ACC/IGN “on” state. The push-to-start button would not disengage, the exterior lights stayed on, and the truck acted as if the ignition was on even when the engine was off. While driving, no speedometer, RPM, warning lights, temperature readings, DEF/emissions information, airbag indicators, or other instrument cluster functions were available. The vehicle also displayed a false door-open message. The issue was confirmed by the dealership, and the truck was declared unsafe to drive. The vehicle has remained out of service for months while waiting for the replacement instrument cluster, which has been unavailable due to manufacturer part shortages. The problem can be reproduced and is fully documented by the service center.

Instrument cluster would not turn on in the truck. I turned truck off 2 times and would not power on. I was unable to tell Speed, Fuel level, DEF level or any warning indicator that would have pop up if there was an issue with the truck. Once I made it to my destination came back 15 minutes later the cluster started working again.

Trailer lights not working properly, the marker lights flash when turn headlights on loss of brake and turn signal lights. Hooked another ram 2500 up and did same then hooked a 2013 ram and a 2021 Yukon up and all lights on trailer worked as it should. Have contacted dealer they are saying they never heard of, then at another dealer they are saying they have 4 rams with this issue and it’s with the trailer module and one was even melted. Saftey issue to me because if I’m driving my camper with my kids in it and we have no proper lighting to avoid being hit or if it melts and causes a vehicle fire

On Sunday, 9/14/25 driving on a 70 MPH interstate highway, pulling a trailer behind the Newly-purchased 2025 truck (only 700 miles on it), the road narrowed down to one lane because of a traffic obstruction and cones. As I slowed down to about 35 mph and then went to speed up again as the traffic eased, the vehicle provided a ping notification sound and the Electronic Vehicular Instrument Cluster (EVIC) display stated something to the effect of "Shift into 'P' to start vehicle". I realized that the vehicle was not responsive as expected, indicating power steering had failed, likely because the engine was off. I'm uncertain whether the steering wheel was locked, which is likely, because at that speed, only a very slight turn of the wheel was needed to move into the closed lane on the straight road. While driving my 2025 RAM 2500, the entire digital dash is intermittently going dark and will stay dark for several minutes, powering back up and functions as it should then goes back out. This presents the possibility for significant hazard potential as all visual indicators for speed etc are lost. The vehicle loses the ability to use turn signals as well as many other functions while this is occurring.

When turn signal auto-cancels (completion of turn), the opposite side turn signal will SOMETIMES erroneously enable. This can be consistently reproduced when completing a turn (returning wheel to center) quickly. Slow turns do not cause the problem. Took to dealer and showed them how to reproduce... In park, just turn on signal then simulate turning then returning to center quickly. Dealer tested another 2025 on the lot and confirmed same behavior. They told me this is normal behavior. This happens sometimes under normal driving conditions and I'm afraid it confuses cars around me and presents a potential safety issue.

Purchased above vehicle on 7/12/25. Was advised no towing for 1st 500 miles. At 712 miles, I hooked my fishing boat up to the truck to go fishing. Initially, truck did not recognize my boat trailer lights (marker and tail lights). My previous truck was a 2023 Ram 2500 rebel that never had an issue with connecting my boat trailer electrical system. All lights worked as should. I still have the same boat trailer as previous(2020 shore lander trailer with led lights). The new procedure for my 2025 Ram 2500 is to disconnect the 7 pin trailer electrical connector to the truck, stop the trucks engine, reconnect the 7pin to the truck outlet and maybe it will, maybe it will not work. While driving at a low speed vehicle has shut down and VIC says shift into park to start once you shift the vehicle into park you can restart it . This has happened twice and no computer codes are stored.

Intermittent blackout of driver display screen while vehicle is running. Also, intermittent blackout of navigation screen on 14.4 inch display screen while vehicle is running.

When letting off the gas and coasting to turn on a road around 10 mph, vehicle motor shut off and lost power steering control. Vehicle alerted to place vehicle in park, press break and push start button. Vehicle started back with no issues. Reported to dealer, dealer picked up and stated they could not find any issues and returned to me. Following day while going to work vehicle again shut off when pulling up to a gate entry and then again approaching my return to home at stop sign. All three times vehicle was under 15 mph and approaching turn/stop. New Truck, only 30 miles on it when first incident occurred and only 160 miles now. Dealer still not able to duplicate or locate the problem. System is showing no codes.
