We took a trip from Daleville, Alabama to Las Vegas, Nevada. Before we left, We took my 2019 RAM 2500 Bighorn diesel pickup to our local Ram dealership, Mitchel Chrysler Dodge in Enterprise, Alabama to have it inspected, to make sure there wouldn't be any problems along the way. They cleared it, and said there was nothing wrong with the vehicle. On my way, the steering wheel position started slipping to the left. after that, I received a waning on my dash that said " electronic stability control". So I took it to the closest RAM dealership, in Lawton Oklahoma, and they stated "needs a steering Gearbox replacement" and it would take two weeks to get the part, and then fix it. They told me it would be safe to drive. When I got to Las Vegas, at that point it was at the seven O'clock position. We took it...
Following completion of the Y78 (high-pressure fuel pump) and XQ1 (emissions) recall repairs in April 2024, our 2019 Ram 2500 immediately began experiencing misfires, fuel system issues, and ongoing performance problems. These symptoms have persisted for over a year and have never been resolved despite repeated service visits and escalations. The vehicle suffered multiple HPFP failures, including one that caused fuel to leak into the crankcase, resulting in approximately 19 quarts of fuel-contaminated engine oil. Despite technical service bulletins calling for specific system flushes and tests post-repair, the original dealership did not follow these protocols or provide documentation confirming that the required inspections (fuel pressure, contamination checks, EGR/DPF/DEF system functionality) were ever completed. A new dealership confirmed the presence of metal debris after the fuel filter, suggesting the system was still contaminated even after the prior recall-related flush and HPFP replacements. They also found non-functional emissions components covered under XQ1,...
Service ESC flashing on the dash intermittently. If I am in cruise control when it happens vehicle abruptly disables cruise control. Codes when ready are U0002 and U0212. Same problem happened about a year ago, dealer reflashed ABS and sent me on my way. I informed them of other similar trucks experiencing the same issue and that it wasn't a reflash issue. Had them document my concerns that it would just happen again after warranty...I was right.
While towing a roughly 13k pound camper with my family from Texas to New York and back , I lost trailer brakes, traction control , cruise control and my trailer brakes. The trip included ice, rain, snow. We had a death in the family and the trip did not include the time to take to have this problem troubleshot. Literally one of the scariest trips ever through different elevations and traction levels. These would’ve all been just fine had the systems worked correctly. The truck only had 35,000 miles at the time. Of course by the end of this trip I was now out of warranty. ( so I think) I don’t know. With as common as this issue is , I don’t know what to do. I plan on keeping this truck but I do not anyone else drive it due to the safety concerns. As a combat veteran...
Component/System Failed:The stability control system, and subsequently, the cruise control system of my 2019 Ram 2500 malfunctioned. The vehicle is available for inspection upon request. Safety Risks:The malfunction posed a significant safety risk as it occurred multiple times while driving at speeds of 50mph to 74mph. The unexpected failure of the stability control could lead to a loss of vehicle control, especially at high speeds, increasing the risk of an accident. Additionally, the deactivation of cruise control without warning could lead to sudden changes in vehicle speed, potentially surprising the driver and leading to unsafe driving conditions. Reproduction of the Problem & Inspection by Manufacturer/Other Parties: The truck is currently at AutoNation Ram 265 Drivers Way A, Hardeeville, SC 29927 Warning Signs: None Best Assessment of Incident and Cause: Unknown, but this began occurring after the replacement of the recalled high pressure fuel pump.
When driving down the road, intermittently my truck will lose throttle input. I get a check engine light and the electronic throttle control light. this is extremely dangerous when pulling out into traffic or even pulling out onto a higher speed road because the truck will not let me accelerate. It will just sputter and I have to fight it to about 35mph when I can activate cruise control then am forced to drive only using cruise control no matter what the road or traffic is like which is also not very safe. So far, I am at 3 service appointments over the span of about a month and a half, over $500 invested and the dealer cannot find the culprit or issue causing this. I know that fault code P2121 is set off but it does not lead to much.
BOTH CRUISE CONTROL AND ADAPTIVE CRUISE CONTROL FAIL TO MAINTAIN A CONSTANT SPEED OVER FLAT/LEVEL ROADWAYS. WHEN CRUISE CONTROL OR ADAPTIVE CRUISE CONTROL ARE ENGAGED THE VEHICLE CONSTANTLY DECELERATES AND ACCELERATES TO MAINTAIN SPEED. VEHICLE HVAC SYSTEM IS INADEQUATE, BLOWS COOL, NOT COLD, BLOWS COOLER FROM PASSENGER SIDE VENT IMPACTING OPERATOR COMFORT AND INCREASING FATIGUE. ADDITIONALLY, IT BLOWS COOL AIR THROUGH THE DEFROST PANEL WHEN IT IS NOT NEEDED CAUSING THE WINDSHIELD TO FOG UP. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2019 RAM 2500. WHILE DRIVING 65 MPH, THE RPMS INCREASED AND THE ENGINE REVVED. THE CONTACT RELEASED THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL AND MANUALLY SHIFTED THE GEARS IN ORDER TO RETURN TO THE CORRECT READING. IN ADDITION, THE COMPUTER SYSTEM THAT CONTROLLED THE RADIO AND CAMERA WOULD GLITCH AND HESITATED TO CHANGE VIEWS. ALSO, WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 40 MPH IN AN INTERSECTION, THE VEHICLE SUDDENLY ACCELERATED, DESPITE DEPRESSING THE BRAKE PEDAL. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE IGNITION AND CHECK ENGINE WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO PULL THE VEHICLE OVER TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND SHIFTED INTO PARK; HOWEVER, THE VEHICLE CONTINUED TO REV AS IF THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL WERE DEPRESSED. WHEN THE CONTACT TURNED OFF AND RESTARTED THE VEHICLE, ALL THE WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED AND THE VEHICLE STALLED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO CROWN MOTORS (LOCATED AT 555 CYPRESS AVE, REDDING, CA...
