THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DRIVEN A LOT AND AT 55000 MILES IT DEVELOPED THE PROBLEM OF TRANSMISSION COOLANT FAILURE, THIS WILL CAUSE THE VEHICLE TO LOCK UP EVEN DURING DRIVING AND CAUSE AN UNSAFE DRIVING CONDITION. LUCKILY WE DETECTED QUICK ENOUGH THAT WE DID NOT HAVE ANYONE HARMED DURING THE OPERATION OF THE CAR. NISSAN REFUSES TO COVER ALL REPAIR WORK UNDER THE EXTENDED GUARANTEE AND ENSURE SAFE DRIVING FROM THE DEBRIS LEFT IN THE COOLANT LINE BUT DID REPLACE THE TRANSMISSION AND RADIATOR. THERE IS NO GUARANTEE THAT THE COOLANT PUMP, THERMOSTAT OR OTHER COOLANT DEVICES WON'T FAIL AND CAUSE OTHER OPERATIONAL HAZARDS, IF THEY DO INDEED FAIL AS A RESULT OF THEIR NEGLIGENCE TO PERFORM A FULL REPAIR; AND ENSURING THAT THE LINES AND COOLANT SYSTEMS ARE FREE FROM DEBRIS AND WILL NOT FAIL UNDER USE. ON 3/18/2011 I HAD TO HAVE MY WHOLE MUFFLER SYSTEM REPLACED BECAUSE IT BECAME SEPARATED FROM THE ENGINE AT THE FRONT OF THE VEHICLE AT 119K MILES. (I'M NO CAR EXPERT.) THEN TODAY I HEAR THE SAME LOUD NOISES AND MY VEHICLE SHAKING JUST LIKE A YEAR AGO. RIGHT NOW MY CAR IS AT 138K MILES. I BOUGHT THE CAR BRAND NEW IN JULY OF 2006. I'M TAKING MY CAR IN TOMORROW TO HAVE IT LOOKED AT AGAIN AND I WILL BE VERY SURPRISED IF IT IS A DIFFERENT ISSUE. I'M WORRIED ABOUT DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY AND MY MUFFLER SYSTEM COMING OFF AND CAUSING AN ACCIDENT. EXHAUST SYSTEM FAILURE. THE MUFFLER BROKE OFF AT THE FLANGE THAT CONECTS IT TO THE REST OF THE EXHAUST PIPE, THIS WAS A FAILURE OF THE PIPE ITSELF. THE CAR HAS NO OTHER SIGNS OF RUST OR BREAKDOWN, BUT THE PIPE JUST SEVERED AT THE POINT WHERE IT ATTACHES TO CONNECTING FLANGE. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 NISSAN VERSA. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 40 MPH THE CONTACT HEARD A LOUD BANGING NOISE ON THE MUFFLER. THE CONTACT EXIT THE VEHICLE, INSPECTED THE MUFFLER AND NOTICED THAT IT HAD SEPARATED FROM THE PIPE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO THE DEALER NOR WAS IT REPAIRED. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 80,000.
PIPE FROM FRONT END OF MUFFLER FAILED AT FLANGE WELD DUE TO: (1) MECHANICAL STRAIN, THE MUFFLER PIPE SUPPORTS THE RESONATOR BY PULLING THE PIPE TIGHT; (2) LACK OF CORROSION INHIBITION; (3) POOR QUALITY WELDING, THE COMPONENTS APPEARED TO HAVE NOT BEEN CLEANED FIRST. ==DETAILS== [1] THE COMPARATIVELY HEAVY RESONATOR WAS SUPPORTED AT THE REAR ONLY BY THE PIPE SEGMENTS BETWEEN IT AND THE MUFFLER. THIS IS A SIGNIFICANT AMOUNT OF MECHANICAL FORCE, APPLIED TO A STRUCTURE NOT DESIGNED TO HANDLE IT. [2] ANY CAR SOLD TO PARTS OF THE USA THAT REGULARLY GET SNOW SHOULD HAVE CORROSION PREVENTION APPLIED TO ALL UNDERBODY COMPONENTS BY DEFAULT. NOT DOING SO IS NOT ONLY A POOR BUSINESS DECISION BUT ALSO INCREASES THE LIKELIHOOD OF PARTS FALLING OFF AND LANDING IN THE ROAD. [3] WELDS TO UNDERBODY COMPONENTS SHOULD BE WELL INSPECTED, AS IF THEY BECOME SEPARATED PARTS OF THE VEHICLE MAY CEASE...
AFTER 50,000+ MILES THE GASKET AND MUFFLER HAD TO BE REPLACED DUE TO POOR METAL AND WELDING CONSTRUCTION. THIS IS THE ONLY PART ON THE UNDER CARRIAGE THAT IS RUSTED. SEEMS TO BE A VERY COMMON ISSUE AND SHOULD WARRANT A RECALL ON AT LEAST THE 2007 MODELS. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 NISSAN VERSA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHEN STARTING THE VEHICLE AND ACCELERATING, THE VEHICLE WOULD EXHIBIT AN ABNORMAL RATTLING FROM THE ENGINE. THE CONTACT DISCOVERED THAT ONE OF THE MOUNTS SEEMED OUT OF PLACE. IN ADDITION, THE SUNROOF WAS INOPERABLE AND WOULD NOT OPEN. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER YET THE DEALER WAS UNABLE DIAGNOSE THE ENGINE FAILURE AND DID NOT ASSIST WITH THE SUNROOF FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 48,000. THE VIN WAS UNAVAILABLE.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 NISSAN VERSA. THE CONTACT STATED SINCE THE DATE OF PURCHASING THE VEHICLE (SEPTEMBER 25, 2007), THE CHECK ENGINE WARNING LIGHT WAS ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER NUMEROUS TIME TO DETERMINE THE CAUSE OF THE WARNING LIGHT BEING ACTIVATED. THE DEALER REPLACED THE GAS CAP TWICE, THE FILTER AND THE VALVE. THE FAILURE WAS CORRECTED FOR A FEW MONTHS UNTIL RECURRING. THE MANUFACTURER ADVISED THE CONTACT THAT A REGIONAL DIRECTORY WOULD CONTACT HER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WOULD BE TAKEN BACK TO THE DEALER FOR FURTHER DIAGNOSIS. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 700 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 14,000.

MY 2007 NISSAN VERSA KEEP SHUTTING OFF AND WONT START EVERYDAY DEALERS HAVE NO IDEA WHAT'S WRONG. *TR
I PURCHASED A 2007 NISSAN VERSA SL HATCHBACK IN JULY OF 07. IN MID 08 I STARTED HEARING A KNOCK FROM THE ENGINE. I TOOK IT INTO SEVERAL DEALERS AND NO ONE COULD TELL ME WHAT IT WAS CAUSED FROM. LATE 08 IT STARTED USING OIL AS WELL, AND THE DEALER DID AN OIL CONSUMPTION TEST ON IT TO VERIFY THAT IT WAS INDEED USING OIL. THEY TOLD ME THEN THAT IF I CAN PRODUCE ALL MY RECEIPTS FROM WHERE I GOT MY OIL CHANGED THEY WOULD PURSUE IT FURTHER. I HAVE ALWAYS DONE AS MUCH OF MY OWN MECHANIC WORK MYSELF, SO I DO NOT HAVE ANY RECEIPTS. AT THAT POINT THEY TOLD ME THAT THEY WOULD CHARGE ME TO LOOK INTO MY ENGINE. ALSO, MY AIR PRESSURE INDICATOR LIGHT CAME ON IN MID 08, AND THEY ALSO WANT TO CHARGE ME TO TAKE CARE OF THIS PROBLEM. *TR
FRONT RIGHT STRUT WAS REPLACED 3 TIMES AMONG OTHER PARTS WITHOUT ANY LUCK TO SOLVE THE PROBLEM. ALSO THAT CAR HAS A PROBLEM WITH THE A/C SYSTEM THAT COMES FROM THE FACTORY WITHOUT ENOUGH FREON OR NO FREON AT ALL. *TR

PRIOR TO THE FAILURE, THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT CRANK AT ALL. NISSAN STATED THAT SOMEONE WOULD CALL THE CONTACT BACK, BUT HE HAS YET TO RECEIVE A RESPONSE. THE PURCHASE DATE WAS UNKNOWN.
