Complete transmission failure and need replacement the car is less than 10 years old Nissan has had major issues with the CVT system and transmission…transmission lose power on the highway
Between 75-85 miles an hour, the car gets sluggish, acting like it cannot "stay in gear" and the rpms shoot around wildly. It gets worse when it is hotter outside. It feels like it loses power and then shoots up in power erratically, typically in that speed range. My car has only 54620 miles on it
The was engine stalling, shuddering, jerking, and after a while I had loss of power, all of this happened when I was driving 65 mph on the highway.
The car is losing power when j try accelerate its very dangerous and the handle from driver side door kicked off and don't wanna hold and unlock the car in [XXX] that the car got.nk throttle and power it nukes risk for me my kids and ny family and other passengers Thank you have a fantastic evening
The contact owns a 2015 Nissan Sentra. The contact stated while driving at various speeds, the vehicle started shuddering. The contact stated that the engine revved up to high. While driving, the vehicle stopped suddenly, drove, and then stopped again. The contact continuously moved the gear shifter and the vehicle moved forward. The check engine warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who determined that the transmission solenoids were defective. The contact called an unknown local dealer, but the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was contacted, but no assistance was provided. The failure mileage was approximately 50,000.
When driving my car loses pet like it is going from 65 to 40 on the highest it poses a threat n because you never know when it will happen and twice already I have almost been on a car accident due to the loss of pet
The contact owns a 2015 Nissan Sentra. The contact stated that on several occasions while stopped at a traffic light, the vehicle unintendedly accelerated. There was no warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic to be diagnosed. The contact was informed that the failure might have been caused by an Oxygen sensor failure. The Oxygen sensor was replaced; however, the failure persisted. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 65,000.
Engine light keeps coming on and throws the code for mass air flow sensor even after this was replaced
The contact owns a 2015 Nissan Sentra. The contact stated while driving 60 MPH, the vehicle began jerking and lost motive power. The vehicle was steered into a parking lot and restarted. The vehicle was then towed to the residence. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 85,000.
The contact owns a 2016 Nissan Sentra. The contact stated that upon taking the vehicle in for the emissions test, the vehicle failed to pass the State emissions test. The check engine warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, who diagnosed a failure with the continuously variable transmission. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure but provided no assistance. The failure mileage was 152,000.
When driving, the car started to stutter when accelerating and while driving any speed below 60 mph, while trying to get the car home it would not accelerate up a hill after I stopped at a light and I was in the middle of the street stuck on a blind spot. My husband had to get out and direct the traffic before they came pst the blind spot and hit me.
The car keeps throwing a P0101 code. The MAF Sensor has been replaced and the throttle body has been clean and the engine light and code keep showing up. It is causing acceleration issues making it dangerous to start moving or going fast to get up to speed on the interstate.
The contact owns a 2015 Nissan Sentra. The contact stated that while driving 60 MPH, the vehicle started shaking and failed to accelerate as needed. The check engine warning light illuminated, and the vehicle decelerated to approximately 30 - 40 MPH. The vehicle was repaired however, while driving at speeds of 50 MPH or more, the vehicle would start to shake and hesitate while accelerating. The contact stated that over time the vehicle started failing to accelerate to speeds exceeding 50 MPH. On another occasion while driving up to a red light at approximately 40 MPH, the vehicle started jerking while idling at the traffic light. The vehicle then failed to accelerate above 20 MPH and was shaking and losing motive power while driving. The contact pulled to the side of the road to have the vehicle towed. While parked and waiting to be towed, the "Check Engine" warning light...
Car started with a light vibration and after driving for a few feet would no longer accelerate when pressing the gas. For the first few days it would violently jolt like if someone hit me before gaining speed, but when i hit the brake it lags to accelerate. Now the fastest it goes it 20mph. If I press the gas pedal the engine makes a loud noise but does not speed. The dealer provided a code P2895 and suggested changing the whole transmission. The car has kept up with all maintenance checks and fluid changes and is in good condition it just reached 100,000 no accidents. The stalling happened while I was in traffic on the freeway and jolting of the car made it feel unsafe luckily I was able to use the shoulder to exit and call a tow truck. No accident but does not feel safe to continue...
The transmission started with acceleration speed issues, after about a week, it started stuttering and failing to accelerate at all. Today the car would not accelerate through a traffic light which could have caused an accident. A mechanic has confirmed that the transmission is the issue. Initially there were no check engine lights or anything that showed up but now the check engine light is on.
Transmission is really bad after even nissan replaced it doesn’t shift correct, the car jumps, the brakes really doesn’t do well even after they change it. The motor sound is really high. The car doesn’t speed up on the highway to go in front of the right lane, so it puts me in dangerous several times. All documents of complain since 2019 at Nissan Petaluma ,CA and now the car at Nissan auto nation Las Vegas for the second time after they change the transition . Thanks
My transmission has went out 3 or 4 times now. Nissan has replaced it and the same issue keeps occurring. I was driving in the middle of the intersection and my car just stopped. I had to have people help me push my car out of the way. Nobody would stop and almost hit me and the people helping. There were no warning lights that came on. My car jerked then my car would not increase speed. It would just rev really high then not move
1. Engine malfunction/Transmission: Yes, the car is available for inspection upon request. 2. While driving the car on the road the car begins to hesitate and wanted to stall in moving traffic. Had to pull over vehicle over until it was safe to try and preceded. This problem has continued and now feeling no longer safe to drive on the road. We have a small child, and our car is our main mode of transportation and right now we are without transportation because of this faulty situation with the transmission and we definitely want to make sure that we have a safe vehicle for our family and not to cause an incident with other drivers due to the car stalling. Currently the car sits in the driveway. 2015 Nissan Sentra 89,575 3. Yes, the problem has been reproduced by a Nissan Dealer here in our area. 4. Vehicle was towed...
Transmission. Up and down idling when accelerating, high RPM but not accelerating in speed, jerking, whining sounds while driving, thumping into gears, bad burning smell, no type of warning lights
CEL light came on while driving, took car to O'Reilley's who reported a P0101 sensor reading. Assistant manager said that that is a common sensor to fail, however, when I purchased my car at Carmax 2 years ago, they had replaced it.
I recently encountered a distressing situation with my Nissan Sentra, where the CVT (Continuously Variable Transmission) unexpectedly failed, resulting in the need for my car to be towed. This unforeseen incident left me stranded and unable to operate my vehicle. The failure of the CVT transmission not only caused inconvenience but also posed safety concerns as the car became inoperable. Prompt action and attention to this matter are crucial to resolve the issue effectively and ensure the safe and reliable functioning of my Nissan Sentra.
We bought this vehicle brand new in 2016, and it seem to be a nice vehicle until it hit 30,000 miles. When we hit 30,000 miles in April 2020, the brake system failed, causing a passenger side collision, however, there were no injuries. Then in November 2020, the transmission went out. At that time we had to have the front brakes replaced as well. Then in May 2021 at 40,000 miles, we had to replace the front brakes again. In September 2021 at 50,000 miles, the front and rear brakes started grinding and needed replaced, which ended up having the ABS system, ABS module, brake lines, brake rotors, brake calipers, brake drums, and pads replaced. In February 2022 at 58,000 miles, while driving home, there was a loud bang from the front of the vehicle, the vehicle shuddered violently, had very little acceleration, and there was a large amount of...
Have driving issues.. 3 times lose power. Transmission issues. Mileage still low (66.000) Jumping while drivering.. vibration
The contact owns a 2015 Nissan Sentra. The contact stated while driving approximately 5 MPH and slowing down for a traffic sign, the vehicle stalled. The contact immediately stopped the vehicle and placed the gear shifter in park(P) and restarted the vehicle however, the vehicle stalled again. The contact stated that the check engine warning light was illuminated and had been illuminated since owning the vehicle. Additionally, the contact stated that she had experienced failure of the brakes with a metal-on-metal sound while depressing the brake pedal. The contact stated that the failure had become a recurring failure with the engine and the brakes. The contact had taken the vehicle to an unauthorized dealer who diagnosed that the gasoline cap and front and rear brake pads needed to be replaced. The vehicle had been repaired. The contact stated that the brakes were replaced; however, the engine stalling failure recurred. The...
My Vehicles stalled on me on multiple occasions one in particular I was with my family including my two year old daughter. when the car began to violently jerk on the NJ turnpike, total ambarassment ensued and ultimately I had to drive that way for about an hour or so. I had a Mechanic from Nissan come to my home and the diagnosis was the tranny was done. Rip to my baby at 115k miles so sad.
The transmission in my vehicle is not working and I see there has been a known issue on models from 2013-2017. I would like this repaired, please.
My Nissan Sentra is constantly “jerking” and “stalling” when accelerating. It’s not coming to speed and completely stopping in traffic. The vehicle seems like it’s struggle to switch gears and giving problems with the transmission. This is a very dangerous issue that needs to be resolved.

The contact owns a 2015 Nissan Sentra. The contact stated that the vehicle would hesitate upon depression of the accelerator pedal as the check engine warning light would illuminate on the instrument panel. The contact had taken the vehicle to an independent mechanic and had the air flow sensor replaced but soon after repair, the failure returned. Neither the dealer nor the manufacturer was notified of the failure. The contact had taken the vehicle to another independent mechanic however, the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 78,000.
On Saturday, 25 SEP 2021, my wife and I departed San Clemente, CA, at 3:30 AM enroute to Idaho Falls, ID. We were driving my son and daughter-in-law’s 2015 Nissan Sentra with approximately 62,000 miles on the odometer. The car contained my wife and me along with 2 suitcases. At approximately 5:00 AM we approached the Cajun Pass, heading north on I15 North, going 70mph with the cruise control engaged. The crest of Cajun pass is approximately 3800 ft and the base of the pass is approximately 1100 ft, thus a rise of 2700 feet in a relatively short distance. As the 2015 Nissan Sentra began to ascend the Cajun Pass, the engine RPMs raised to 3700 RPM, but then the cruise control disengaged and the car lost power. I merged to the right into the Truck Lane and could only go 30-35 mph. Additionally, the engine RPMs would oscillate...
My check engine light keeps coming on and off and I fixed the so called problem already
The 2015 Nissan Sentra SV has issues with stalling during driving, not accelerating over a certain MPR but RPM continues to get higher, and the car seeming to jerk when in drive. The transmission seems to slip. There are no indicators for check engine that has came on prior to these events taking place. Very unsafe driving on the highway when these situations occur. Has had multiple diagnostics done and nothing has been solved.
I initially owned a 2014 Nissan Sentra, which was a lemon, Nissan repurchased a 2015.. The transmission went into the car, and car slips gears when driving. I feel complicated unsafe in this vehicle. Please advise.
CVT TRANSMISSION PROBLEMS. VEHICLE WAS JERKING, WOULD CHANGE SHIFTS, DIDN'T WANT TO GO OVER 20 AND THEN COULDN'T GET IT TO RUN. CAR TURNED OFF ON ITS OWN AT A LIGHT. THIS HAPPENED ON THE FREEWAY PUTTING IN DANGER SINCE DROPPED SPEED AND HAD HARD TIME GOING UP BRIDGES. THEN IT DID IT IN CITY LIMITS. STOP SIGNS AND AT LIGHTS.
WHILE I WAS DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY MY CAR STARTED SLOWING AND THEN ALL OF A SUDDEN NOT BEING ABLE TO ACCELERATE. THEN ON THE ROAD, IT WOULD TREMBLE AND STUTTER. NOT SAFE AT ALL I COULD'VE BEEN HIT
CAR ENGINE IS NOT ACCELERATING AND TRANSMISSION SEEMS TO BE STUCK IN A CERTAIN GEAR. TOOK IT INTO NISSAN LAST YEAR AND THEY REPLACED THE VALVE BODY IN THE TRANSMISSION. NOW IT APPEARS IT'S HAVING THE SAME EXACT PROBLEM AGAIN. VERY SCARY AS I ALMOST GOT INTO A FEW ACCIDENTS. ALSO THE ENGINE IS HAVING THE SAME LOW IDLE ISSUES BUT NOTHING IS AS BAD AS THE TRANSMISSION ISSUES. VERY VERY VERY SCARY
MASS AIR FLOW SENSOR WAS PREVIOUSLY REPLACED IN LATE JULY 2020 AND CURRENT MASS AIR FLOW SENSOR IS FAILING AGAIN THIS ONE IS BRAND NEW AND THE DATE IS AUGUST 25TH
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 NISSAN SENTRA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT AT START-UP, THE CHECK ENGINE WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED AND REMAINED ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AUTOMOTIVE AVENUES LOCATED AT 10701 W 6TH AVE, LAKEWOOD, CO 80215 TO BE DIAGNOSED. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE MASS AIR FLOW SENSOR NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE MASS AIR FLOW SENSOR WAS CLEANED HOWEVER, THE FAILURE RECURRED. A NEW MASS AIR FLOW SENSOR WAS INSTALLED AND ENGINE CHECK LIGHT CAME ON, NOT LONG AFTER. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. VEHICLE IS STILL PUTTERING AND HESITATION STILL ONGOING. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 68,000.*DT*JB *BF THE CONSUMER STATED A NEW MAF WAS INSTALLED BUT CHECK ENGINE LIGHT IS ON, ALSO THE VEHICLE STILL PUTTERS AND HESITATION. *TR
FRIDAY 04/172020 AT APPROXIMATELY 515PM MINUTES AFTER PARKING MY CAR AT MY BOYFRIEND HOUSE AFTER TAKING MY COAT AND SHOES OFF ONE OF HIS NEIGHBORS KNOCKED ON THE DOOR TO LET ME KNOW THAT MY CAR WAS ON FIRE. POLICE AND FIRE DEPARTMENT WAS CALLED, THEY ARRIVED AND PUT THE FIRE OUT AND LET ME KNOW THAT IT APPEARED TO BE AN ELECTRICAL ISSUES THAT MAY HAVE CAUSED THE FIRE
LETS START WITH THE SMALL STUFF FIRST: THE TRUNK WILL NO LONGER POP OPEN FROM THE BUTTON IN BACK OF THE CAR (ONLY FROM KEY AND INSIDE THE CAR), ALSO WILL TEND TO OPEN WHILE I AM DRIVING WHICH IS A SIGNIFICANT DRIVING HAZARD. THE HANDLE OF THE DRIVER DOOR IS BROKE, NO LONGER CAN I LOCK OR OPEN THE CAR FROM THE BUTTON ON THE DOOR. NOW TO THE UNSAFE AND BIGGEST PROBLEM OF ALL: TRANSMISSION/ENGINE ISSUES. ON NUMEROUS OCCASIONS IN THE PAST YEAR MY CAR HAS STALLED OUT WHILE I WAS DRIVING THE CAR! NOT ONLY DID I GO TO THE DEALERSHIP NUMEROUS TIMES FOR THE SAME ISSUE BUT I ALSO HAD MY TRANSMISSION REPLACED (WHILE IT WAS STILL UNDER WARRANTY) AND THE PROBLEM STILL CONTINUES. THIS IS AN ONGOING KNOWN ISSUE WITH THIS VEHICLE AND IT SHOULD ABSOLUTELY BE RECALLED IMMEDIATELY. I DO NOT UNDERSTAND WHY NO...
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 NISSAN SENTRA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE RUBBER SEALING AROUND THE REAR PASSENGER AND REAR DRIVER'S SIDE WINDOWS HAD COME OFF. ALSO, AFTER STARTING THE ENGINE, A HUMMING NOISE WAS PRESENT COMING FROM THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT. THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURES WAS NOT DETERMINED. THE MANUFACTURER AND BOBB BELL NISSAN (1 KANE ST, BALTIMORE, MD) WERE NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURES. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 40,000. THE VIN WAS UNKNOWN.
VEHICLE STRUGGLES TO GO OVER 40 MPH ON HILLS, WITH AC ON, OR FOR EXTENDED DRIVES. I'VE LIKED THIS UP ON THE INTERNET MULTIPLE TIMES AND OTHER OWNERS OF THIS SAME YEAR, MAKE, AND MODEL HAVE EXPERIENCED THE SAME THINGS. I'VE HAD NISSAN LOOK AT IT MULTIPLE TIMES AS WELL AND THEY TELL ME NOTHING IS WRONG.
I HAVE A 2015 NISSAN SENTRA WITH A FAILED CVT TRANSMISSION. THE FAILURE HAPPENED SUDDENLY WHILE I WAS ON THE HIGHWAY, DOING AND AVERAGE SPED OF 65 MPH. DURING ACCELERATION, THE CAR WILL LURCH AND JUMP FORWARD LIKE IT'S LOSING POWER THAN GAINING IT BACK, IT SHIFTS EXTREMELY HARD AND WILL NOT GAIN SPEED UNLESS GOING DOWNHILL. WHILE PRESSING ON THE ACCELERATOR THE RPMS WILL BOUNCE BETWEEN 2K AND 6K RAPIDLY. THROUGH DOING RESEARCH I FOUND I'M NOT THE ONLY ONE WITH THIS ISSUE, THERE ARE SENTRA OWNERS WHO'S CAR HAS LESS THAN 60K MILES HAVING THE SAME ISSUE.
WHILE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY FOR LONG PERIODS OF TIME THE CAR WILL MAINTAIN A CERTAIN SPEED BUT THE RPMS WILL RAISE AND LOWER AND YOU CAN HEAR THE ENGINE REV UP AS IF IT IS ATTEMPTING TO CHANGE GEARS.
I WAS DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY AND THE CAR WOULD NOT ACCELERATE PAST 60MPH, ONCE I GOT OFF THE HIGHWAY THE CAR WOULDNT ACCELERATE PAST 20MPH AND THE RPM WOULD SHOOT TO 4,000!!! I ALMOST GOT HIT MAKING A TURN BECAUSE THE CAR WOULD NOT ACCELERATE. THE CAR ONLY HAS 44,000 MILES ON IT WITH NO PREVIOUS MECHANICAL ISSUES.
THROTTLE CONTROL LIGHT COMES ON AND MY CAR DRIVES RUFF RPM GOES UP AND LOOSES SPEED TOOK IT TO TIRE KINGDOM AND FOUNDED OUT IT HAS A RECALL ON IT.GOES THERE AND THEY SAID THERE IS NO RECALL BUT TRY TO SELL ME A NEW CAR NEED HELP WHAT DO I DO NEXT
THE CAR WOULDN'T ACCELERATE IMMEDIATELY AFTER COMING OFF A COMPLETE STOP. ONCE I TURN THE CAR OFF AND WHEN TO TURN IT BACK ON AND PUT IT IN GEAR, IT WOULDN'T SHIFT GEARS. IT STARTS BUT WOULDN'T MOVE.
I HAVE BEEN TO THE NISSAN DEALERSHIP MULTIPLE TIMES TRYING TO FIGURE OUT WHY MY VEHICLE LOSES POWER RANDOMLY AND WHY THE CAR RANDOMLY SHIFTS GEARS AND REDUCES SPEED EVEN WITH MY FOOT ON THE GAS. YET WHILE IT DOES THIS THE RPM NEEDLE SURGES BETWEEN 3000 TO 4500. VEHICLE HAS NO CODES AND DEALERSHIP CLAIMS THEY CAN'T REPRODUCE THE PROBLEM. MY CAR HAS LOST POWER ON A MAJOR HIGHWAY AND YET IM JUST SUPPOSE TO BELIEVE THE CAR IS SAFE.I EVEN PUT IN A COMPLAINT WITH NISSAN CORPORATE AND THEY TOLD ME THERE WAS NOTHING THEY COULD DO BECAUSE THE VEHICLE DOES NOT HAVE ANY CODES.
ENGINE IS SLIPPING DOOR HANDLES COMING OFF
WHEN DRIVING MY VEHICLE ON THE INTERSTATE AND KEEPING A STEADY 65-70 MPH IT WILL ALL THE SUDDEN STOP ACCELERATING AND MPG'S DECLINE. I WAS IN THE FAST LANE AND WAS ALMOST REAR ENDED. I HAD TO PULL THE CAR OVER. IT DID RESTART AND I CONTINUED TO DRIVE. THIS HAS OCCURRED NOW FOUR TIMES. I HAVE CALLED THE DEALERSHIP AND REQUESTED AN APPOINTMENT. I INFORMED THEM WHAT WAS HAPPENING AND ASKED IF THEY HAVE HEARD OF THIS ISSUE. THE MAN I SPOKE TO STATED HE HAD NEVER HEARD ABOUT IT BEFORE. I FOUND SOME INFORMATION ONLINE AND KNOW THIS IS AFFECTING A TON OF PEOPLE. I BOUGHT THIS VEHICLE BRAND NEW FROM A NISSAN DEALERSHIP AND THEY SERVICE IT FOR EVERYTHING. I AM HOPING I DO NOT END UP HAVING TO REPLACE THE TRANSMISSION LIKE SO MANY OTHERS ON MY DIME WHEN THIS IS A KNOWN ISSUE.
