Driver side sun visor has broken and can’t be stowed. Visor now hangs down and blocks at least 50% of the drivers view to the front. Visor can be moved to the left, up against the side window, but then it blocks the view to the left. This is a known issue. It is a safety defect and a recall should be issued.
SUN VISORS KEEP FALLING WHILE DRIVING IT SEEMS TO BE A COMMON COMPLAINT AMONG PATHFINDER OWNERS I'M AFRAID THIS MAY HAVE HAPPENED TO MULTIPLE PEOPLE ALREADY THIS IS DANGEROUS AND NEEDS TO BE RECALLED IMMEDIATELY.
THE SUN VISORS MAKES A LOUD CRACKING NOISE AND HAVE CONTINUED TO FALL DOWN IN MY LIGHT OF SIGHT STARTING SINCE THE VEHICLE WAS ROUGHLY A YEAR OLD. THEY WILL NOT STAY UP AND HAVE ALMOST CAUSE ME TO GET INTO A SEVERE ACCIDENT SEVERAL TIMES. THE DRIVES SIDE VISOR HAD TO BE REMOVED AS IT HIT ME WHILE I WAS DRIVING AND CAUSED ME TO SWERVE OFF THE ROAD.
SUN VISORS ON 2014 NISSAN PATHFINDER NEED TO BE RECALLED, DEFINITELY A SAFETY HAZARD. BOTH DRIVER AND PASSENGER SIDE VISORS WILL NOT STAY UP, OBSTRUCTING VISIBILITY. HAVE NOTED MANY OTHER COMPLAINTS. SUN VISOR ON THE DRIVER'S SIDE IS BROKE. HAD THE CAR 2 YEARS. BARELY EVER PULLED IT DOWN, ONLY WHEN THERE WAS A LOT OF SUN IN MY EYES AND I COULDN'T SEE. FOUND OUT ON LINE THERE HAVE BEEN NUMEROUS COMPLAINTS ABOUT THIS ON 2014 MODELS. PEOPLE KEEP HAVING PROBLEMS WITH THEM BREAKING, UNEXPECTEDLY. THERE IS NO RECALL. *TR
THE VISOR DOES NOT STAND FLUSH WITH THE ROOF, IT DROPS DOWN INTO THE DRIVER'S LINE OF SIGHT. THEY WILL OFTEN FALL COMPLETELY DOWN, MAKING IT A SAFETY ISSUE FOR THE DRIVER.
THE SUNVISORS ( BOTH SIDES) MECHANISM THAT HOLDS THEM IN POSITION WILL BREAK FROM STANDARD NORMAL USE. WHEN THIS HAPPENS THE SUNVISORS WILL NOT STAY IN THE POSITION THAT THE OPERATOR PUTS THE SUNVISORS IN AND TEND TO BE FLOPPY. THIS MAKES A DANGEROUS SITUATION BECAUSE THE SUNVISORS MAY FALL DOWN WHEN NOT INTENDED OR NOT STAY IN POSITION TO NEEDED TO BLOCK SUN GLARE. THE SUNVISORS MAY ALSO HANG LOWER IN THE STOWED POSITION CREATING AND EDGE A PERSON COULD HIT THEIR HEAD ON ON AND ABRUPTL STOP. THIS HAPPENS WHILE THE CAR IS STOPPED OR IN MOTION, BUT BECOMES WORSE IN ROUGH ROAD CONDITIONS. THE CAUSE IS DUE TO THE INTERNAL PLASTIC THAT HOLDS THE SPRING CLIP ON THE INSIDE ON THE VISOR. THERE ARE MANY COMPLAINTS IN ONLINE FORUMS AND EVEN YOUTUBE VIDEOS SHOWING DIY FIXES. OEM REPLACEMENT PART IS ANOUT $150. PICTURES ATTACHED SHOW BOTH SUNVISORS....
THE DRIVER'S SIDE SUN VISOR HAS AN INNER PLASTIC PIECE BROKEN WHICH MAKES THE SUN VISOR RANDOMLY FALL, BLOCKING MY VIEW WHEN DRIVING. THIS IS A COMMON ISSUE ON MANY 2014 PATHFINDERS THAT CAN BE FIXED BY MAKING THE PARTS (VISOR) BETTER, OR BY SELLING A REPLACEMENT PART FOR THE PLASTIC PIECE THAT EASILY BREAKS. INSTEAD, THE MANUFACTURER ONLY SELLS AS A REPLACEMENT PART, THE EXACT SAME VISOR THAT IS LIKELY TO BREAK AGAIN. A SECOND ISSUE ON THIS CAR IS THE DRIVER'S SIDE DOOR HANDLE INSIDE AND OUTSIDE THE DOOR. I FIND MYSELF OFTEN TRAPPED INSIDE THE CAR OR OUTSIDE THE CAR DUE TO THIS DOOR HANDLE MALFUNCTION. THIS COULD EASILY BECOME A LIFE/DEATH SAFETY ISSUE IF EVER I WAS IN AN ACCIDENT AND WAS TRAPPED INSIDE THE CAR. THIS IS ANOTHER COMMON DEFECT ON THIS CAR CAUSED BY A CHEAP PLASTIC PIECE BREAKING. PASSENGER SIDE SUN VISOR WILL NOT STAY UP CREATING A BLIND SPOT/VISIBILITY HAZARD. DRIVER SIDE IS BEGINNING TO STAY DOWN LOWER FROM THE ROOF OF THE CAR ALSO. PASSENGER SIDE NOW STAYS DOWN ALL THE TIME AND WHEN PUSHED UP IMMEDIATELY FALLS BACK DOWN
THE SUN VISOR ON THE DRIVER'S SIDE IS DEFECTIVE, LEADING TO IMPAIRED VISIBILITY DURING DRIVING. THE VISOR SOMETIMES FALLS TO A VERTICAL POSITION UNDER GRAVITY ONLY. THIS OBSTRUCTS FORWARD VISION AND ALSO OBSTRUCTS LINE OF SIGHT TO THE REARVIEW MIRROR. AT OTHER TIMES, THE VISOR PARTIALLY SAGS, CREATING A CONDITION WHERE THE FRONT EDGE OF THE VISOR IS IN CLOSE PROXIMITY TO THE DRIVER'S FACE. IT'S FORESEEABLE THAT A CONDITION COULD OCCUR WHERE THE VISOR COULD CAUSE INJURY BY CONTACT WITH THE DRIVER'S FACE DURING SUDDEN DECELERATION. THERE ARE NO POSITIONS THAT THE VISOR CAN BE PUT IN THAT DO NOT OBSTRUCT THE DRIVER'S VISION.
WE WERE DRIVING OUT OF TOWN ON VACATION WHEN OUR SUNROOF EXPLODED OUT OF NO WHERE. IT WAS ABOUT 9:30 IN THE MORNING ON FRIDAY JULY 19TH. WE WERE HEADING EAST BOUND ON THE 10 FREEWAY IT WAS ABOUT 90 DEGREES OUTSIDE WITH NO OTHER CARS AROUND. THE NOISE WAS SO LOUD IT SCARED EVERYONE IN THE CAR. WE HAVE CONTACTED NISSAN FOR HELP AND THEY HAVE BEEN EXTREMELY RUDE AND UNWILLING TO HELP US AT ALL. THEY BASICALLY SAID TO BAD IT'S YOUR PROBLEM NOT OURS.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 NISSAN PATHFINDER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FRONT DRIVER AND PASSENGER SIDE SUN VISORS FAILED AND WOULD NOT STAY SECURED. WHILE DRIVING, THE VISOR RANDOMLY FELL DOWN AND OBSTRUCTED THE VIEW OF THE DRIVER AND FRONT PASSENGER. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE LOCAL DEALER (EDDIE TOURELLES NISSAN, 955 N. HWY 190, COVINGTON, LA) WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE CONTACT WAS ADVISED THAT THE SUN VISORS NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 36,000.
CAR WAS DELIVERED NEW WITH FRONT HEADRESTS INSTALLED BACKWARDS. DRIVER'S VISOR WAS SNAPPING LOUDLY AND DROOPING FROM NEW. REPLACED 11/14/2014. OCS RECALL, ATTEMPTED REPAIR 4/23/2014, 11/14/14, 4/7/2015, 11/19/2015, 12/8/2015 AND PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAG LIGHT REMAINS ON ALWAYS, TO THIS DAY! HOOD HAS VIBRATED AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS SINCE NEW. RECALL FOR HOOD LATCH FIXED 4/7/2015. HOOD STILL VIBRATES. PASSENGER VISOR REPLACED 2/23/2017 FOR SAME AS DRIVER'S. DRIVER'S INNER DOOR HANDLE BROKE. COULDN'T OPEN FROM INSIDE. REPLACED 9/10/2018 AT COST OF $296.29. MULTIPLE EXTERIOR RUBBER AND PLASTIC TRIMS ARE LOOSE, COMING OFF, AND INTERIOR GASKET ON ONE REAR DOOR AND TAILGATE.
THE SUN VISORS ON OUR 2014 NISSAN PATHFINDER STARTED TO DROOP DOWN AND EVENTUALLY BECAME SO LOOSE THAT THEY DID NOT STAY UP AT ALL AND ARE DANGLING ALL THE WAY DOWN. THIS IS NOT ONLY ANNOYING BUT ALSO A SAFETY HAZARD BECAUSE THE DRIVER SIDE IS BLOCKING PART OF THE VIEW. THE LOOSE FLAPPING PANEL ALSO DISTRACTS THE DRIVER IMMENSELY.
THE SUN VISOR WILL DROP DOWN AND WILL NOT STAY UP CAUSING A SAFETY HAZARD WHILE DRIVING.

WHEN DOING A WEB SEARCH, I SEE THIS IS A WIDESPREAD PROBLEM. IT'S A SAFETY HAZARD TO NOT HAVE A FUNCTIONING SUN VISOR BUT ALSO TO HAVE IT BLOCKING THE DRIVERS VIEW OF THE WINDSHIELD AND ROAD
DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD AND MY SUNROOF EXPLODED. IT SOUNDED LIKE A GUNSHOT WENT THROUGH THE SUNROOF. GLASS FELL DOWN ONTO MY WIFE AND 2 KIDS IN THE BACK SEAT. THERE WERE NO ROCKS IN FRONT OF ME FOR DEBRIS TO COME BACK. THE WHOLE THING SHATTERED. IT DIDN'T HAVE A CRACK OR SPIDER. I HAVE READ NUMEROUS OTHER ISSUES LIKE THIS ON THE INTERNET AND CONSUMER REPORTS RECENTLY WROTE AN ARTICLE ABOUT THIS. NISSAN WAS IN THE TOP 3 HAVING THIS ISSUE. I WENT TO MY DEALER AND HE THOUGHT WE WERE CRAZY AND ASSUMED WE CAUSED THIS DAMAGE AND TRIED TO EXPLAIN THEIR WERE RELATED ARTICLES ONLINE WITH THE SAME ISSUES AS MY EXPERIENCE. IT WAS VERY SCARY AND COULD'VE BEEN DANGEROUS IF THERE WERE OTHER VEHICLES BEHIND US BECAUSE, WE HAD TO SLAM ON OUR BRAKES. I ALSO PURCHASED EXTENDED WARRANTY AND THEY WOULD NOT COVER IT.
AFTER OWNING MY 2014 NISSAN PATHFINDER PLATINUM FOR A LITTLE OVER 2 YEARS AND 37000 MILES (CONVENIENTLY JUST OUT OF THE FACTORY WARRANTY PERIOD), THE SUN VISOR ON THE DRIVER'S SIDE BECAME INOPERABLE AND, WHAT I CONSIDERED TO BE, A SAFETY HAZZARD. THE INSIDE PORTION OF THE VISOR ITSELF WAS OBVIOUSLY POORLY ENGINEERED AND LOOSENED/CRACKED INSIDE THE VISOR WHICH HOLDS IT SECURE TO THE VISOR ARM. THE VISOR WOULD NOT REMAIN IN THE UPRIGHT POSITION, OUT OF THE FIELD OF VISION WHILE DRIVING. IT WAS CAUGHT IN A STATE OF LIMBO IN BETWEEN BEING ALL THE WAY DOWN, AND BEING ALL THE WAY UP. AS A TEMPORARY FIX, I HAD IT SECURED WITH VELCRO, BUT THIS WOULD COME LOOSE SOMETIMES WHILE DRIVING AND OBSTRUCT MY VISION. WITHIN A MONTH OF THE DRIVER'S SIDE VISOR BREAKING, THE PASSENGER SIDE VISOR BROKE AS WELL, IN THE SAME EXACT SPOT. I SECURED BOTH...
BOTH DRIVERS AND PASSENGERS SIDE SUN-VISORS WILL NOT STAY UP AGAINST THE CEILING, OR AGAINST THE WINDSHIELD, AND DROP DOWN INTO MY LINE OF SIGHT, WHICH MAKES IT A HAZARD WHILE DRIVING BECAUSE IT WILL NOT STAY IN PLACE. MYSELF AND PASSENGERS ARE CONSTANTLY HITTING OUR HEADS ON THEM. IT OBSTRUCTS MY VIEW WHILE DRIVING EVEN WHEN MY SEAT IS ALL THE WAY DOWN. NISSAN YOU HAVE BEEN MADE AWARE OF THIS DEFECTIVE PART AND THIS SHOULD BE RECALLED. IT MAKES DRIVING HAZARDOUS.

THIS CREATES A SAFETY HAZARD AS IF THE DO NOT STAY UP IT BLOCKS THE VISIBILITY AND ABILITY TO DRIVE SAFELY. I HAVE HAD TO REMOVE IT AS I DO NOT WANT TO HOLD IT UP WHILE DRIVING.

THIS IS VERY ANNOYING AND PAINFUL WHEN COLLIDING WITH THE BROKEN SUN VISOR. NISSAN SHOULD GIVE RECALL ON THEIR 2014 PATHFINDER SUN VISORS. DURING DRIVING THE VISOR HANGS HALFWAY DOWN WHICH OBSTRUCTS THE DRIVING VIEW AND ALSO REDUCES DEPTH OF FIELD VISION FOR BRAKING PURPOSES.
AFTER WE PURCHASED THE VEHICLE (NEW IN 2014) THE VISORS BEGAN MAKING POPPING NOISES WHEN LOWERED AND WOULD NOT STAY IN AN UPRIGHT POSITION. IT HAS GOTTEN WORSE OVER TIME AND NOW THEY WILL NOT STAY UP AT ALL. THEY ARE OBSTRUCTING MY VISION WHILE DRIVING.
THE SUN VISOR IS TOO BIG AND HEAVY TO STAY FIRM ALL THE WAY UP, ONLY1 INCH AND HALF ITS SUPPORT ALL THE VISOR SO THATS ITS TOO SMALL FOR THAT HEAVIEST.

I PURCHASED MY PATHFINDER USED, AND THIS ISSUE HAS ONLY GOTTEN WORSE. SUN VISORS HANG TOO LOW AND BLOCK MY VIEW WHEN DRIVING. THE MECHANISM SOUNDS BROKEN DUE TO THE POPPING NOISE. PASSENGER SIDE SUN VISOR HANGS LOW TOO, AND BOTH DO NOT GO FULLY UP IN THE CLOSED POSITION.
WE BOUGHT THE 2014 PATHFINDER USED IN MARCH 2017 WITH APPROXIMATELY 8,000 MILES ON IT. BOTH VISORS CLICKED WHEN PUTTING THEM BACK UP AND WOULD NOT STAY IN THE FULL UP POSITION. IN MARCH 2018, THE DRIVER'S VISOR FELL AND WILL NOT STAY IN EITHER THE FULL UP OR FULL DOWN POSITION, THUS OBSTRUCTING THE DRIVER'S VISION. THE BROKEN PLASTIC IS VISIBLE INSIDE THE FABRIC OF THE VISOR. I HAD TO PIN IT TO THE ROOF TO ENSURE SAFE DRIVING. I THOUGHT THE PROBLEM WAS DUE TO MISUSE, BUT NOW I SEE THIS IS A DEFECT IN THE PRODUCT. I DON'T SEE THAT NISSAN HAS PROVIDED FREE REPAIRS, HOWEVER. SINCE THIS IS AN OBVIOUS DEFECT, IT SHOULD BE A RECALL AND THE VISORS REPLACED FREE TO CUSTOMERS.
VISORS DO NOT STAY IN THE UP POSITION. BECOME LOOSE AND FALL WHILE DRIVING CAUSING VISUAL IMPAIRMENT TO THE DRIVER.

MY DRIVERS SIDE INTERIOR DOOR HANDLE ALL OF A SUDDEN BROKE. I HAD TO CRAWL OUT OF MY CAR FROM THE PASSENGER SIDE TO EXIT/ENTER MY VEHICLE. AND, MY DRIVERS SIDE VISOR IS BROKEN AND HANGS DOWN--OBSTRUCTING MY VISIBILITY WHILE DRIVING. BOTH PROBLEMS OCCURRED AT 53,000 MILES AND ARE A SAFETY HAZARD. BOTH PROBLEMS ALSO SEEM TO BE A VERY COMMON ISSUE WITH THE NISSAN PATHFINDER AND OF COURSE ARE NOT COVERED WHEN BASIC WARRANTY EXPIRES AT 36,000 MILES.

DRIVER SUNVISOR MANUFACTURED WITH BRITTLE PLASTIC FRAME BREAKS CAUSING THE SUNVISOR TO SUDDENLY, WITHOUT WARNING DROP DOWN AND OBSTRUCT THE DRIVERS VIEW OF THE ROADWAY AHEAD. COULD CAUSE ACCIDENTS LEADING TO POSSIBLE INJURY OR FATALITY. THOUSANDS HAVE HAD TO BE REPLACED AT OWNERS EXPENSE. VERY COMMON DEFECT ON THE ABOVE YEAR VEHICLES. OURS HAS HAD TO BE DUCT TAPED TO THE HEADLINER TO KEEP IT OUT OF OUR VISION.
I EXPERIENCED ISSUES WITH BOTH THE PASSENGER AND DRIVER SIDE SUN VISORS WHERE THEY WOULD NO LONGER STAY UP. FROM THE DRIVER SIDE THIS OBSTRUCTS THE VISION WHICH CAUSES A SAFETY ISSUE. ADDITIONALLY THIS OCCURRED ON THE PASSENGER SIDE WHERE IT WOULD SIGNIFICANT HURT A PASSENGER IN THE EVENT OF AN ACCIDENT. I RESEARCHED THIS ONLINE AS WELL AS TALKED TO THE DEALER AND THIS IS A WIDE SPREAD AND KNOWN ISSUE. I HAVE ATTACHED A PICTURE OF THE PASSENGER SIDE BEFORE I GOT IT FIXED AT MY OWN COST. THIS SHOULD BE A RECALL AS ITS A SAFETY ISSUE AND THERE IS NOTHING YOU CAN DO TO KEEP THE VISOR OUT OF THE WAY ONCE THE VISOR BREAKS.

THE SUN-VISOR DOES NOT STAY UP AS NISSAN PLANNED AND IS CURRENTLY A SAFETY ISSUE WHILE DRIVING. THIS IS A MAJOR ISSUE AS IT IS IN DIRECT SIGHT-LINE OF THE ROAD. IN ADDITION, WHEN TRYING TO BLOCK ANY SUN, THE VISOR DOES NOT PROVIDE CORRECT PROTECTION AS IT DOES NOT STAY IN PLACE. IT'S EASY TO SEE BASED ON COMPLAINTS ON THIS WEBSITE ALONG WITH MANY ACROSS THE INTERNET THAT THIS IS A COMMON ISSUE AND SHOULD BE REVIEWED BY NHTSA
THE SUN VISORS BLOCK THE VIEW OF THE DRIVER AND CAN NOT BE ADJUSTED. THIS IS THE SECOND SET OF SUN VISORS FOR THIS CAR AT $400.00 A POP EVERY TWO YEARS. IT HAS BLINDED ME OF ON COMMING TRAFFIC OFTEN. THIS HAPPENS EVERYTIME I DRIVE THIS CAR. NISSAN IS VERY UN-CONCERNED OF MY SAFETY AS THEY ALMOST SAID.
THE ISSUE IS THE PLASTIC INSIDE THE SUN VISORS BREAKS EASILY. I HAVE ALREADY HAD TO REPLACE THEM ONCE, AND NOW THEY'RE BOTH BROKEN AGAIN. WHEN THE INTERNAL PLASTIC COMPONENTS BREAK, THE VISOR HANGS DOWN AND RESTRICTS YOUR VISION AS YOU'RE DRIVING. YOU ARE UNABLE TO POSITION THE VISOR TO BLOCK THE SUN AS WELL, WHICH PRESENTS ANOTHER SAFETY ISSUE. I HAVE HAD TO RESORT TO CONNECTING TWO DOG COLLARS TOGETHER TO KEEP THE VISORS IN AN UP POSITION RATHER THAN SPEND $200-300 TO REPLACE THEM. NISSAN REFUSES TO REPLACE THE VISOR SINCE ITS NO LONGER UNDER WARRANTY. THE FIRST REPLACEMENT WAS UNDER WARRANTY, BUT THEY ONLY COVER WARRANTY WORK FOR ONE YEAR. THIS OCCURRED ABOUT 18 MONTHS AFTER THE REPLACEMENT. THIS IS AN ONGOING PROBLEM WITH THIS VEHICLE. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 NISSAN PATHFINDER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE STATIONARY, THE SUN VISOR ON THE PASSENGER'S SIDE FRACTURED AND WAS HANGING DOWN. THE CONTACT EXPRESSED THAT IN THE EVENT OF A CRASH, THE SUN VISOR COULD STRIKE AND CAUSE AN INJURY. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. EVER SINCE PURCHASE THE SUN VISORS (BOTH DRIVER AND PASSENGER) HAVE BEEN WEAKER THAN OTHER VEHICLES. THEY MAKE LOUD POPPING AND CRACKING NOISE WHEN ENGAGED AND CLOSED. THIS WEEKEND WE ENTERED THE VEHICLE TO LEAVE AND NOTICE THAT THE DRIVER'S SIDE VISOR WAS NOT UP AGAINST THE CEILING. IT WOULDN'T STAY IN PLACE, THERE IS A LARGE GAP AND THE VISOR IS JUST ABOVE EYE LEVEL AT ALL TIMES NOW. THIS FAILURE IN THE MECHANISM ALSO AFFECTS THE "OPEN" POSITION BY NOT ALLOWING IT TO BE ADJUSTED TOWARDS THE WINDSHIELD AND ABOVE SITE-LINE. IF IT'S "OPEN" IT HANGS VERTICAL AND WILL NOT ADJUST OUT OF SITE. THE MECHANISM IS SO WEAK AND BROKEN AT THIS POINT THAT WE FEAR IT MAY FALL FROM IT'S CURRENT "CLOSED" POSITION TO "OPEN" AND DIRECTLY IN THE LINE OF SITE WHILE DRIVING. WHILE NOT AS IMPORTANT TO DRIVER SAFETY, THE PASSENGER SIDE IS JUST...
SUN VISORS ON BOTH DRIVERS AND PASSENGER SIDE BROKE AND ARE NOT ABLE TO BE PUT UP. VISORS HANG DOWN AND INHIBIT DRIVERS VISION.
THE DRIVER'S SIDE FRONT WINDSHIELD VISOR HAS HAD TO BE REPLACED TWICE BECAUSE IT WILL NOT STAY UP. IT FALLS DOWN AND OBSTRUCTS THE DRIVER'S VIEW OF THE ROAD AHEAD. THE PASSENGER SIDE FRONT WINDSHIELD VISOR HAS HAD TO BE REPLACED ONE TIME BECAUSE OF THE SAME ISSUE. THIS ISSUE OCCURS BOTH WHILE STATIONARY AND IN MOTION.
