fuel lines/ clamps defective causing a fuel leak. vehicle could catch on fire and fumes are extremely strong inside the cabin. issue confirmed by Mercedes dealer, mentioned there is an extended warranty up to 120,000 miles. rejected mine because i was at 120,300 miles. had to pay out of pocket. no warning lights or anything just the really strong smell of fuel and fuel range dropping. this is a very common issue thats known and should be a recall.

Vehicle developed OBD-II code P052E related to crankcase ventilation/PCV system malfunction. Issue causes improper crankcase pressure, rough idle, oil vapor smells, and check engine light. Independent research shows this is a common failure on 2015–2017 Mercedes C300 models. Repair requires replacement of crankcase vent/PCV assembly. This appears to be a premature emissions system failure.

CHECK ENGINE LIGHT appeared on dash at approximately 72k miles. Had code read and diagnosed by certified mechanic and he had an active code P06DA00(this code signifies an electrical fault, open circuit, or high resistance in the circuit for the oil pump control valve on vehicles with two stage oil pump, which can lead to incorrect oil pressure, which can cause engine damage if not addressed). Vehicle was taken to Harriman Mercedes in New York. They did not acknowledge an active code but wanted to diagnose and repair a stored code for a small evap leak, which was rectified with a new gas cap. After prying about the P06DA00 code, they finally admitted it did have a stored code but to ignore it because it had something to do with domestic and foreign car engine computers issues. How do you ignore an active code with a potentially serious engine issue...

Fuel is leaking inside cabin whenever I turn on my heat
#11628964 |
I have noticed a recurring issue during the colder months where there is a strong gas smell inside the cabin, and I have also observed fuel dripping into the engine compartment. This issue seems to occur primarily in winter conditions. I was surprised to find that there has been no official recall or service bulletin addressing this concern, especially given the potential safety implications.

This vehicle was 2nd owner via Mercedes CPO. Note I bought this 2016 in 2018 on CPO, so recalls and technical notes were confirmed to be resolved. Had last taken to Mercedes dealership. Vehicle was always running fine until about 64,000+ miles when a check engine light came on while just entering the freeway and the vehicle started shaking violently. Continue to drive the vehicle for a few miles to get to the destination. Had the vehicle towed to the dealership and the dealership declared that cylinder 1 had lost 80% compression and had a cylinder 1 piston crack. This is consistent with numerous claims on Mercedes message boards. Mercedes dealership said that this vehicle was not drivable and was not covered under warranty. Requested $11,000 for single piston repair or $15,000 for full engine rebuild replacement. Please note that M274 engine has this complaint. The engine is apparently a...

A couple years back I had an engine light pop up and it was the code P052E which as I’ve done my research and read a lot of forums this is a common problem with the W205 Mercedes Motors. As of today 04/18/24 the engine light came on and I got it diagnosed to find out it is the same problem again. This repair is almost $2000 and it is due to Mercedes faulty manufacturing of the PCV valve. I have read things that say there has been extended warranty on it and a lot of submissions for recalls, that I’m not exactly sure of.

Pcv valve has gone bad, and it seems like everyone i ask that is mercedes technician they all say these parts are terribly made and always break.
#11579368 |
The Positive Crankcase Ventilation (PCV) valve is crucial for regulating the flow of gases in the engine's crankcase. If the PCV valve malfunctions or becomes clogged in a car like the 2016 Mercedes Benz C300 4-matic, several problems can arise: 1. **Increased Pressure:** A malfunctioning PCV valve can cause pressure to build up in the crankcase. This increased pressure can lead to oil leaks, gasket failures, or even engine seals blowing out. 2. **Poor Engine Performance:** When the PCV valve fails, it can disrupt the air-fuel mixture in the engine, leading to rough idling, stalling, or decreased fuel efficiency. This can result in a loss of power and overall poor engine performance. 3. **Contamination:** A faulty PCV valve may not properly route harmful gases, like unburned fuel and moisture, out of the crankcase. This can lead to contamination of the engine oil, reducing its effectiveness in lubricating engine components and...

My Mercedes has a P052E check engine light code for its PCV value performance. I do see that many other drivers are having this issue and that repairs are around $2,000.

Mercedes C300 4Matic Engine light off. The diagnostic tool showed P052E error, which seems like a common problem with MB C300 models built from 2015. Is there a manufacturer recall for this issue? This warning came a few weeks ago and disappeared by itself shortly. It came again.
#11548470 |
Engine code P052E has come on at 60k miles. After researching the problems this is a very common problem with the 2016 c300 that mercedes refuses to address. To add insult to injury the part needed to be replaced is a sensor worth 100 dollars but mercedes charges over $2500 because you need specialty tools to get to it. This is a very common problem with owners around 40-80k miles and has no cause other than faulty parts on Mercedes end.

My mercedes c300 Check engine light came on for P052e positive crankcase ventilation and after doing research, this sounds like a common problem for this car / model

Had an oil change at a Mercedes dealership after driving for a couple hours. Check engine was on for a code P052E, being crankcase ventilation system. Had the car diagnosed, cost to repair 1,600 dollars. Went through with repair, the code pop up again (P052E). Having to bring vehicle constantly to Mercedes dealerships.

P052E - PCV Regulator Valve Performance: Actuator Stuck P06DA - Engine Oil Pressure Control Circuit/Open no sub type information My understanding is these are common issues and Mercedes and anyone who works on them know it is a common issue for all lines. I also have a broken sunroof that seems to be common on all lines. There are some recalls out for the sunroof but not for the C-Class C300, although all of the videos I have found match the same issues that were recalled on other models. The dealer confirmed these are known issues.

I have a problem that happened with a trouble code: P052E. It appears for now reason so the problem is in a faulty positive crankcase ventilation regulator valve. It costs a lot and not all the mechanics can do this type of work.

Check engine light P052E, PVC valve. Dealer wants $2,500 for this repair and people are complaining that around 30k-50k it does it. Thats ridiculous. My dealer said its a common issue but Mercedes is not issuing a recall.

The PCV Valve/crankcase has broken 3 times on this car with different repairs and parts. This is happening very commonly to these cars and may cause significant safety issues. The code is P052E

My car failed smog test due to code P052e positive crankcase ventilation regularly valve. Upon some research, I found that this is very common issue with this car. The repair costs +$2000 before tax at the dealership. Please consider this complain as this issue is very common with this make model and unfortunately many drivers don’t realize that it’s due to faulty system.

I bought the car with 51k miles . Engine failed at 71k miles , due to piston #1 cracking . Almost caused me to get rear ended on a busy street . I went to the dealership and they charged me $10250 to replace the engine with a remanned long block and they offered a 2 year warranty. 9 months, only 19k miles on “new motor” the “new” engine fails again … same reason piston # 1 cracked failed suddenly on the highway and I had to push the car to safety to the emergency lane while cars where coming.. I went back to dealer demanding a replacement and told them this is a common occurrence and they refused to help me . I called corporate. They refused to help me saying I would have to purchase an engine for the second time out of pocket when it only lasted...

Check engine light appeared this morning, had the code scanned and found it to be P052E. This code is in reference to the Positive Crankcase Ventilation valve, which is responsible for routing excessive crankcase gases. After extensive research online, it would seem this is a known issue for Mercedes once they reach 50,000 miles, right outside of warranty. This is a very costly fix due to it being labor intensive. This should be a recall as it is a known mechanical issue, and even the dealers echo the same.

I made 2 engine stalling complaints at the dealership in 2021/2022.. the dealership kept my vehicle for 2 days and said nothing was wrong. My vehicle recently in stalled in drive gear, I had to cut the car off & turn it back on

PO52E code showed was the code pulled on my 2016 Mercedes c 300 4 matic . My car had 73000 miles on when I bought it and that code was pulled when I bought it . At 73000 miles my car shouldn’t have this problem .

Gas smell inside the cabin. Check engine light on . Took to dealer, stated P052e code came up. Positive crankcase ventilation valve went bad. The dealer says it is a pretty common problem for this vehicle and engine. Quote came back close to $2900 for parts and labor

A fuel smell can be detected at idle inside the vehicle and around the engine area. A recall for some VIN's of this model in this year was enacted but not this particular model. No visible fuel moisture can be detected. A repair facility stated it might be a faulty clamp on the return fuel line. The recall was for dirt on manufacturing between the fuel injectors/fuel rail. This is a safety / emissions problem that hopefully does not lead into a fire. No warning lights are present. This started about 2 months ago

My check engine light came on at about 68,800 miles. The OBD code shows that I need the Positive Crankcase Ventilation valve replaced. The repair for this is approximately $2,300 and requires about six hours of shop labor, and the part costing over $425. I’ve never known a PCV replacement on any vehicle to be more than $60, with the part itself being about $10-$20. Most times, the part can be simply cleaned and replaced. This is very disappointing. Especially given that the engine design, just two years prior, would have been less than $200 for the same repair, with part costing about $60. The vehicle does not show any symptoms of the part being blocked, as indicated in the code. There is no hesitation, loss a power or decline in fuel efficiency. However, the engine light cannot be turned off until the part is replaced. I think that $2300...

Crankcase Ventilation Valve malfunction at under 50k. Check engine light is on and I took it into the shop after gas fumes were coming into the car through the ventilation system. I was informed that has been an ongoing issue with Mercedes and I was referred to fill out this document to try and kickstart a recall process. This is a problem that is very costly, and seemingly is happening to most recent models at around the 50k mark. Beyond that is is also a safety hazard as it is causing gas fumes to enter the cabin of the vehicle.
