I ALREADY HAVE A COMPLAINT BUT I FORGOT TO ADD THAT MY AIRBAG LIGHT IS ON AND WON'T COME OFF ALONG WITH MY ENGINE LIGHT IT WON'T EVEN CRANK SINCE WE BROKE DOWN IN THE MIDDLE OF HIGHWAY BECAUSE IDH THE MONEY TO GET IT FIXED AND TRYING TO ASK FOR A RIDE EVERYDAY! THANK YOU SO MUCH
I WAS DRIVING DOWN THE HIGHWAY AND SUDDENLY I HEAR A LOUD NOISE SOUNDED LIKE I WAS IN A BIG RIG TRUCK THEN ALL OF A SUDDEN IT STARTED TO OVERHEAT B4 I COULD PULL OFF OF HIGHWAY IT CUT OFF RIGHT IN THE HIGHWAY I HAD MY GRANDSON WITH ME AND THANK GOODNESS THERE WAS NOT A LOT OF TRAFFIC OR WE PROBABLY WOULD'VE BEEN DEAD
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 MAZDA CX7. THE CONTACT STATED WHILE DRIVING AT AN UNKNOWN SPEED, SEVERAL UNKNOWN WARNING LIGHTS ILLUMINATED AND THE VEHICLE STALLED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE RESIDENCE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT HER SPOUSE DIAGNOSED THE FAILURE AS A MASS AIR FLOW SENSOR FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED HOWEVER, THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO A DEALER FOR REPAIRS NOR WAS IT DIAGNOSED BY A DEALER. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE HOWEVER, THERE WAS NO ASSISTANCE PROVIDED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 154,000.
THERE WAS BLUE SMOKE IN 2013 AND THE ENGINE OIL HAD BEEN BURNED TO NEARLY EMPTY. IT WAS FIXED WITH MY OWN POCKET BUT IN HAPPEN AGAIN. FYI, THE FIRST TIME IT HAPPENED AT ALMOST 40,000 MILES AND RIGHT NOW IS 62000MILES. RIGHT NOW THERE IS A PROBLEM OF THE POWER STEERING PUMP WHICH MAY OUT OF CONTROL WHEN IT MAKES TURN. I READ ANTICLE SAY THAT MAZDA WILL RECALL CX 7 INCLUDING YEAR 2008. WHEN I CALL THEM TODAY THEY SAID NO SUCH KIND OF RECALL. I READ A LOTS OF ARTICLE COMPLAINING MAZDA CX-7 REGARDING OF THESE TWO ISSUE. HOPE YOUR DEPARTMENT CAN FOLLOW UP TO PROTECT CONSUMER. TOOK CAR TO MAZDA FOR AIRBAG RECALL, REPLACED AIRBAG BUT MAZDA TELLS ME THE ACTUAL SENSOR THAT TELLS THE AIRBAG TO DEPLOY DOES NOT WORK AND ITS MY RESPONSIBILITY TO FIX IT. PRIOR TO THE RECALL THE SENSOR DID NOT COME UP ON THE DASH AFTER THE RECALL I NOW HAVE A LIGHT ON MY DASH AND MAZDA IS TELLING ME ITS 700.00 TO REPLACE FIX AND PART AND LABOR. ELECTRICAL CAR SHORTS OUT ALL THE TIME, WINDOWS, ENGINE, LIGHTS WORK ONE DAY NOT THE NEXT WHEN DOORS OPEN. CAR STALLS OUT WHEN DRIVING AND SYSTEM REBOOTS. OTHER ISSUE IS I HAVE SPENT 7 THOUSAND DOLLARS IN REPAIRS ON THIS CAR. I HAVE BLACK SMOKE COMING OUT OF THE TAIL PIPES, IVE REPLACED THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS IN PARTS. ENGINE LIGHT WONT GO OFF. I GOT A RECALL ON THE AIR BAS BUT THE ENGINE WENT UP FIRST COUPLE WEEKS I HAD IT
AFTER BRINGING TO MAZDA FOR TAKATA INFLATOR RECALL, AND LOWER ROCKER ARMS RECALL, I WAS TOLD MY TIMING CHAIN SHOULD BE REPLACED AT A COST OF $1300 PLUS TAX!!! A MAZDA TECH. SAID HE KNEW FOR SURE THAT WAS THE ISSUE JUST FROM LISTENING TO THE NOISE. MY HOW KNOWLEDGEABLE FOR A GUESS. I STARTED RESEARCHING THIS, AND SEE THAT A CLASS ACTION SUIT WAS FILED IN 2012 REGARDING THIS ISSUE, AND IT WENT NO FURTHER. I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW IF I CAN GET FURTHER INFORMATION REGARDING THIS ISSUE AND IF MAZDA WILL PICK UP THIS BILL. THERE ARE SEVERAL RECALLS ON THIS VEHICLE INCLUDING AIR BAGS. WE HAVE MADE SEVERAL ATTEMPTS OVER THE YEARS TO GET ANY OF THESE DONE WITH ZERO SUCCESS. THE DEALERSHIP JUST KEEPS TELLING US TO COME BACK. OUR AIR BAG LIGHT COMES ON AND GOES OUT ALL THE TIME. HAD NO IDEA HOW DISASTROUS THIS PROBLEM COULD BE. CAR HAD SEVERE OIL LEAK FOUND DURING AN OIL CHANGE WITH NO OIL LEFT IN THE CAR; HOWEVER THERE WAS NEVER OIL ON THE GROUND - I PARK IN THE GARAGE. I TOOK THE CAR TO THE DEALER FOR A DIAGNOSTIC TEST, THEY DID THE DYE TEST AND FOUND THE LEAK NEAR THE OIL COOLER FROM THE SEAL/GASKET. THIS IS A VERY EXPENSIVE PART AND IT APPEARS TO BE VERY COMMON AFTER 80K MILES FROM MY SEARCHES ONLINE. PLEASE INVESTIGATE AS THIS IS VERY UNSAFE AND NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED.

MY MAZDA CX7 - 2008 HAS ONLY 44,000 MILES AND THE ENGINE LIGHT WENT ONE AND AFTER BRINGING IT TO A MECHANIC AND CHECKING THE CODES WITH A COMPUTER, IT CAME UP THAT THE EGR VALVE NEEDS TO BE REPLACED. ALL THE MECHANICS THAT I TALKED WITH WERE REALLY SURPRISE AND ASKED ME IF THE MAZDA CX7 - 2008 HAS A RECALL ON THE EGV VALVE BECAUSE IT IS NOT NORMAL THAT WITH THAT LITTLE MILES THE EGR VALVE NEED TO BE REPLACED. I HAVE CHECKED ON THE INTERNET AND I'M SEEING MANY OTHER OWNERS THAT ARE HAVING THE SAME ISSUE. I THINK THERE IS A FACTORY DEFECT WITH THE EGR VALVE FOR THIS MODEL.

MY MECHANIC CALLED FERMAN MAZDA IN BRANDON, FL TO GET A REPLACEMENT AND WAS ADVISED BY THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT THAT THE OLD STYLE OIL COOLER HAD PROBLEMS AND MAZDA RE-DESIGNED A NEW ONE, AND NOW MAZDA OWNERS HAVE TO SPEND OVER $400 TO BUY A NEW ONE BECAUSE THE RUBBER GASKET AND OIL COOLER ARE NOT MANUFACTURED ANYMORE. OIL HAS COVERED MY ENGINE AND THE PLASTIC ENGINE COVER UNDERNEATH THE VEHICLE. THE HEAT FROM THE ENGINE CAN CAUSE A FIRE IF IT SPRAYS UP NEAR THE PLUGS/STARTER. THE GASKET ON THE OIL COOLERS ON THESE CARS ARE DEFECTIVE. I HAVE AN OIL LEAK FROM THIS GASKET THAT PUTS ME AT RISK FOR AN ENGINE BLOWOUT. SUDDEN LOSS OF POWER AS THE TURBO STOPPED WORKING. THE MAZDA DEALERSHIP CLAIMED THAT THE TURBO BROKE DUE TO SLUDGE IN THE ENGINE. THERE WAS A LOT OF SLUDGE IN THE ENGINE, HOWEVER, THE CAR WAS WELL MAINTAINED WITH REGULAR OIL CHANGES. IT SEEMS THAT THE MEDIAN ENGINE TEMPERATURE IS HOTTER THAN IS APPROPRIATE FOR THE SPECIFIED OIL IN THE OWNERS MANUAL. THIS RESULTS IN OIL BURNING AND STICKING TO THE INSIDE OF THE ENGINE. EVENTUALLY A PIECE OF "SLUDGE" WILL COME LOOSE AND CLOG THE OIL TUBE TO THE TURBO, RESULTING IN THE TURBO UNIT OVERHEATING AND BREAKING. MAZDA SEEMS TO BE AWARE OF THIS PROBLEM AS THEY WERE PRESSURED TO EXTEND THE WARRANTY ON THIS PART. THE OIL COOLER ABOVE THE FILTER IS LEAKING VERY BAD, AND I NEED TO REPLACE THE GASKET,BUT I HAD NO PRIOR LEAKS BEFORE AND IT WAS HARD TO START MY VEHICLE. YOU CAN'T JUST BUY THE GASKET FOR THE COOLER, UNLESS IT'S THE NEWER SILVER OIL COOLER, THE PART ALONE IS AT LEAST $400, BUT THERE SEEMS TO A FREQUENT ISSUE OF THIS WITH MANY OTHERS, ON THE 2008 MAZDA CX-7. *TR
TIMING CHAIN WENT OUT . MAZDA IS TRYING TO SAY IT SLUDGE FROM POOR MAINTENANCE . EVEN THOUGH WE HAVE ALL RECEIPTS SINCE WE OWNED IT FOR OIL CHANGES. WE JUST PURCHASE THIS CX7 IN AUGUST OF 2012 WITH ALMOST 28000 MILES. NOW A YEAR LATER AND 40000 MILES IT NEEDS A MOTOR. *TR

THERE WAS A KNOCKING ALMOST AS IF THE CAR WAS A DIESEL, BROUGHT THE CAR TO MILFORD MAZDA IN MILFORD CT AFTER PURCHASING THE VEHICLE A MONTH EARLIER AT BOBS IN MILFORD CT. THE MAZDA DEALER REPLACED THE VVT DECEMBER 2012 THE SERVICE ENGINE LIGHT GOES ON AND I TAKE IT TO THE LOCAL GARAGE AND THEY GET A CODE FOR CAMSHAFT, I BRING THE CAR TO MAZDA WHO TELLS ME UPON ARRIVAL WITH OUT EVEN LOOKING AT THE VEHICLE THAT I NEED A NEW ENGINE AND IT WOULDN'T BE COVERED UNDER MY EXTENDED WARRANTY BECAUSE THEY ARE SURE THERE IS SLUDGE IN THE ENGINE, YEA SAME STORY EVERYONE ELSE GETS. THE VEHICLE IS A 2008 MAZDA CX-7 BOUGHT AS A PRE-OWNED CERTIFIED FROM MAZDA DEALER IN RAMSEY, NJ. IT HAD THE ENGINE LIGHT ON AND I TOOK IT IMMEDIATELY TO THE DEALER NEAR MY WORK (COLMAR, PA) AND IT WAS DIAGNOSED WITH CODE P0401, EGR VALVE FAILURE. PURCHASED VEHICLE USED AT 41,000 IN MAR 2012. FIRST ISSUE: EGR VALVE HAD TO BE REPLACED AT 44,000 MILES IN MAY 2012, NOT COVERED UNDER WARRANTY ("NOT A CALIFORNIA EMISSIONS VEHICLE"). HAD 45,000 MILE SERVICE PERFORMED. DEALERSHIP SERVICE TECH ALSO PROVIDED SERVICE HISTORY FROM PREVIOUS OWNER AND VERIFIED IT WAS SERVICED REGULARLY. I BOUGHT THE CAR AT 30K MILES IN NOVEMBER OF 2011. I HAVE SINCE DRIVEN 15K MILES ON IT. I NOTICED A CLICK IN THE ENGINE. I TOOK IT TO THE DEALERSHIP WHERE THEY PROCEEDED TO TELL ME THAT EVERYTHING WAS FINE AND I NEEDED TO GET A 45K MILE MAINTENANCE ON IT. I TOLD THEM THE CLICKING WAS BOTHERING ME. THEY SAID THAT WAS FINE. I GOT THE CAR BACK AND THE NOISE APPEARED TO HAVE GONE... BUT REAPPEARED AFTER A FEW DAYS.
