Recall 25V442000 — BACK OVER PREVENTION:SOFTWARE

| 200,237 vehicles affected

Defect: Ford Motor Company (Ford) is recalling certain 2018-2022 Transit Connect, 2019-2020 MKZ, MKX, Edge, Continental, F-150, Nautilus, Fusion, 2019-2023 Ranger, Mustang, 2020-2021 EcoSport, Expedition, Navigator, 2020-2022 Escape, F-250 SD, Corsair, 2020-2023 Aviator, Transit, 2020-2024 Explorer, 2021-2024 Bronco Sport, and 2022-2024 Maverick vehicles. A software error may cause the rearview camera to display a blank image, or the image may remain...

Consequence: A rearview camera that displays a blank image can reduce the driver's view behind the vehicle. A rearview image that continues to be displayed after the vehicle is shifted out of reverse may distract the driver. Both of these situations can increase the risk of a crash.

Remedy: Dealers will update the rearview camera software, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed September 4, 2025. Owners may contact Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332. Ford's number for this recall is 25S72.

31 complaints have been filed with NHTSA for the 2019 LINCOLN CONTINENTAL. Below is a breakdown by vehicle component.

Most Recent Complaints

#11718613 | UNKNOWN OR OTHER | | N/A miles
My 2019 door is not latching. I see that a recall was issued but my vehicle was not included
#11684194 | ELECTRICAL SYSTEM | | N/A miles
This vehicle has been repeatedly getting a "Door Fault Service Required" alert on the dashboard. I have even had the burglar alarm (horn honking and lights flashing) go off for no reason in my garage with my garage door shut. This is the exact problem that was covered with safety recall 19S03. For some reason, my vehicle was not included as part of this recall, even though it was built at the Flat Rock Assembly Plant where the other problematic vehicles came from. The build dates that were included in the recall were from November 30, 2015 through November 14, 2018. My vehicle was apparently outside of this range, but the problem continues. The cutoff date ranges for this recall was obviously too narrow because the problem persists. Now, because the applicable range was too narrow, I am left to have to pay for a factory mistake. Please expand the affected dates on recall 19S03. This is an issue that poses an imminent threat to the safety of this vehicle because the door latch is intermittently operative. There is a potential for the door to open while driving which poses a risk of accident and/or injury.
#11675949 | LATCHES/LOCKS/LINKAGES | | 29,000 miles
The contact owns a 2019 Lincoln Continental. The contact stated that while the vehicle parked and occupied, while attempting to close the driver’s side door, the door failed to latch as intended. The contact stated that the failure had occurred on several occasions. The vehicle was not taken to the dealer nor an independent mechanic to be diagnosed or repaired. The contact related the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 19V077000 (LATCHES/LOCKS/LINKAGES); however, the VIN was not included in the recall. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and offered to assist with the cost for the repair. The approximate failure mileage was 29,000.
#11670449 | TIRES:SIDEWALL | | 150,000 miles
The contact owns a 2019 Lincoln Continental equipped with Nokian Tires, Tire Line: One, Tires Size: 235/50/R18, DOT Number: 03B431326. The contact stated while driving 65 MPH and at various speeds, the wheels were shuddering. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, where the tires were inspected. The mechanic informed the contact that the interior of the sidewalls were delaminating, causing the tires to become out-of-round. Additionally, the contact was informed that the road force of the tires was significantly high. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where the tires were inspected. The tires were not replaced. The tires were replacement tires. The dealer informed the contact that the manufacturer would not provide warranty coverage. The contact stated that the manufacturer was unreachable. The tire failure mileage was approximately 30,000. The vehicle failure mileage was approximately 150,000.
