I was troubleshooting a short in the electrical trailer brake circuit and found the cause: the wire had fallen into a crack in the frame crossmember which was chewing on it. Upon further examination, several frame stiffeners/crossmembers had cracked almost entirely through on both sides of the trailer. They cracked because during manufacturing, some goober decided it'd be a good idea to cut 95% of the web of the C-channel away to make holes 10x as large as they needed to be to run wires and slide motors. According to the original owner, he took it from IN to FL twice and I put about 3k miles on it according to my records so it only has maybe 10k miles.
