The contact owns a 2016 Hyundai Tucson. The contact stated that on multiple occasions while driving at various speeds, the four windows rolled down independently. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where the front driver’s side window was replaced; however, the three remaining windows failed to operate as needed. Recently, the rear passenger’s side window was locked in place by a mechanic to prevent the persistent failure. The dealer was notified of the failure and the contact was informed that the vehicle was not under recall or warranty. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 60,000.

The window regulator cables for all windows have failed multiple times, even after taking it to the dealership and paying to have this defect “fixed” they fail again. Now the only working window is the drivers and I cannot afford to have the other 3 fixed which is a safety hazard if an emergency were to happen. This is a manufacturer defect and there needs to be a recall done.

Power window passenger side, stopped working, it is not the motor, you can hear motor running but window does not work.

Manufacturer’s defect, all (4) windows quit operating. Hyundai dealer where vehicle was purchased did repair my driver window, however; shortly after that window was repaired, all other (3) windows quit working at the same time. One (1) window was in the down position. Hyundai of New Port Richey said they would not repair my windows, however; they did get the window up and suggested I purchase door stops to place in the window to keep it up….this also happened to the other rear window. I live in Florida and on August 17, 2023 I had to drive myself to Mease/Countryside Hospital, the heat index was 115 degrees, I had to get into my extremely hot vehicle. I was diagnosed with heat exhaustion. My bill was $ 23,000. I also have a grand baby I have to place in my very hot vehicle when I babysit. Three (3) windows do not...

On 10/24/22 I took my 2016 Hyundai Tucson into dealership Springfield Hyundai 754 Baltimore Pike Springfield PA 19064 for a faulty drivers side window. At that time they advised the issue with the window was 'striped gear' and replaced 'drivers window regulator' under the extended warranty I purchased when I bought the vehicle. At that same time there was also an issue in the left front door latch and it was replaced under 'warranty.' On 03/03/23 the right rear door also had a latch issue and was replaced at that time. About a week ago, my front passenger side window stopped working. It will not go up or down. I returned to the same dealership on 07/27/2023. I was advised that 'found right front window regulator and motor gears are splined. Both parts need to be replaced. Charge is $890.98.' The car's extended warranty has expired and I would need...

Both my front window (driver and passenger side) regulator and motor failed and needed to be replaced within the past 6 months. With both windows, I lowered and then they wouldn't close. Two separate occasions. First was December 2022, and second was July 2023. This is an expensive repair and for a vehicle with only 50,000 miles, I find this unacceptable. I have read multiple complaints for this same issue. Hyundai needs to make this right and reimburse for repair(s). Thank you, Barbara Miller

The contact owns a 2016 Hyundai Tucson. The contact stated that all four automatic windows failed to operate as needed. The front driver’s side window started failing and an appointment was scheduled with the dealer to repair the window. While testing the windows in the dealer parking lot after the repair, the front passenger’s side window fractured, and the dealer agreed to cover the cost of the repair free of charge. Over time, the rear windows started to lower independently, and the vehicle was repaired by an independent mechanic. In addition, the contact stated that the vehicle intermittently failed to accelerate while depressing the accelerator pedal. There was no warning light illuminated. The contact stated that the vehicle lunge forward while accelerating. The manufacturer was also notified of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 20,000.

While running errands in her 2016 Hyundai Tucson my wife rolled down her front driver and passenger side windows. When she encountered rain she attempted to roll both windows up, but the passenger side window would not roll up, causing a dangerous distraction where heavy rain was entering the vehicle while she was driving. Our mechanic inspected this part and said that the gears controlling the window were made of plastic which had been shredded over time and that the motor itself showed signs of corrosion. The vehicle is only 7 years old and has been well maintained, so i can't understand why this part failed so easily. Our mechanic informed us that this is a VERY common issue with Hyundai vehicles and that parts would be hard to come by because of high demand. This issue is available for inspection upon request and has been inspected by a licensed...

Window regulator has broke in all 4 windows
#11513263 |
In the past six months, three of the four window regulators on my 2016 Hyundai Tucson stopped working. Recently, one of my windows fell out while driving on the highway. Looks like this is a manufacturing defect as hundreds of complaints have been reported on the internet. The vehicle needs to be recalled as this seems to be a common problem in most 2016 Tucsons and poses significant risks while driving, especially on highways at high speeds. I’ve included some exact complaints for your reference here: https://www.vehiclehistory.com/questions/why-is-my-hyundai-tucson-2016-window-not-working-353123 I hope this problem gets resolved soon. Thank you.

All 4 windows have a failed regulator. It's a plastic gear attached to the window motor. The windows do not stay up/closed. I am afraid they will fall and break while driving. The Hyundai dealership quoted 3,800 to repair them.

Unable to roll passenger window down using the power control on the driver's door. Took it to a Hyundai dealership for diagnosis and repair. It cost $506.67 to fix, driver front main window switch was replaced.

The automatic windows broke in all 4 windows and I am unable to roll down my windows in the case of an emergency. The dealer confirmed this is an issue. This is a known issue on the 2016 Tucson.

The vechicle was recalled for door locks that failed to work. Within weeks 3 of the automatic windows failed. One of the windows won't stay closed and can be easily opened by anyone simply pressing on the window and pushing it down. Its impossible to lock the vehicle for protection. The other windows won't roll down its impossible to use them to exit the vehicle in an emergency.

The windows stop working. Mine has been replaced twice with 15K miles. when you cant roll up your windows it leaves you exposed to be car jacked in a big city, or objects to fly in the car, which could hurt the driver.

This vehicle model (Hyundai Tucson) is prone to breakdowns in power windows, especially front power windows, due to faulty gear in window regulator unit. Online forums are all complaining about this issue and the replacement part (regulator unit with motor) is being sold on Amazon and Ebay, a sure sign of high demand for the part. This is a dangerous safety issue as the first route of escape in an accident when door cannot be opened is the front windows. The cost to replace the part with labor is around $500 per window so many owners will rather live with the potentially dangerous issue without making repairs. There should be a recall issued by Hyundai to repair inoperable windows and to reimburse owners who have already made repairs.

The contact owns a 2016 Hyundai Tucson. The contact stated that on three separate occasions, the window regulator for the front driver’s, front passenger’s, and rear driver’s side windows failed to operate as designed. The contact also stated that once the window regulators failed, the window would slide down independently while driving. The vehicle was taken to the dealer after each failure and the window regulators were replaced out of pocket. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, but no assistance was provided. The vehicle was also out of warranty. The failure mileage was approximately 28,000. The contact has had all 4 window motors replaced as well as purchased an extended warranty for the vehicle. The contact has notified by Hyundai that other Tucson owners were experiencing the same issues.

The contact owns a 2016 Hyundai Tucson. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, the front driver’s, front passenger’s, and rear driver’s side windows would independently lower without warning. The contact stated that each window regulators had gradually failed over time. The contact then stated that while driving at approximately 65 MPH, the passenger’s side front window shattered into tiny pieces and fell inside the vehicle. The contact was able to drive the vehicle home and had an independent mechanic come to her home to replace the front passenger’s side window. In addition, the contact stated that the rear passenger’s side door would fail to open from both inside and outside the vehicle. The contact had yet to notify either the dealer or the manufacturer of the failure. The vehicle had yet to be repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 68,000.

All of the window regulators have gone out now 3 within a few months, don't know how there isn't a recall yet. Seems there is a lot of complaints in forums. All within 3 months definitely sounds sus. Most think it's due to the plastic wheel the regulator spins on. The heat melts it over time. I only have 49,000 miles on the car at this time. They want 2,300 to fix it.'

I have had 2 window regulators go out within a month due to them using cheap plastic and it's reaction to hear I assume.
