On Sunday, 02/08/2026, I parked briefly to drop something off. When I tried to restart the car, it was clicking but would not start. An engine light came on, and a flashing message appeared saying “Park.” I initially thought it was a battery issue, but the warning light remained on. The next morning, the car started, but the engine was locked and the vehicle would not move forward or backward. I called the Honda dealer, and the technician advised me to tow and bring the vehicle in as soon as possible. I restarted the vehicle, and the message on the screen cleared and the vehicle was engaged. I then dropped the vehicle off at the dealership. After inspection, they told me the front passenger seat weight sensor needed to be replaced, which is very expensive ($1,300) When I researched the, Honda has already recalled their vehicles for this same issue,...
When I turned my car on, the airbag system (SRS) Problem light was on. I was worried if it was an airbag problem, or sensor problem, so I brought the vehicle in for inspection at two locations. The first location was an independent service center, in which I was told it was a sensor problem. They weren't available to repair or needed an appointment to thoroughly check the problem. Therefore, I made an appointment for the next day at a Honda dealership. I thought that my vehicle may have been a part of the safety recall from the service bulletin 24-036. Upon inspection and a partial diagnosis (they didn't took apart my vehicle near the wheel or touch screen/audio for the sensor underneath), I was told I had a sensor problem under the front passenger seat with the code error U3000-49. However, I was told that my vehicle was not...
Vehicle lost power 3 times within a 3 month period, with inability to go above 40 mph on the freeway. Dates of loss of power are: 8/31/25, 9/14/25, 11/16/25 Safety is of grave concern due to loss of power and inability to drive over 40mph on freeway. Took into (2) dealerships three times and they were unable to diagnose issue. The vehicle has been inspected 3 times. This vehicle should be added to the recall listing as this is the same engine issue with losing power. There were no warning lamps, messages or other symptoms prior to the failures.
On [XXX], the vehicle unexpectedly shut down while I was driving. After having the car towed to Honda of Fort Myers for inspection, I was informed that the ground wire had been tampered with—something typically associated with prior accident damage. This is deeply concerning as I was not made aware of any such damage or tampering at the time of purchase. Additionally, I was charged $738 to retrieve my vehicle from Honda of Fort Myers. Despite multiple attempts to contact your Customer Care department, including a call where I was placed on hold for over 30 minutes, I have yet to receive any meaningful assistance or follow-up. I have also filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau, to which I received a response from JP directing me to a Carfax report that does not address the actual issue at hand. For your reference, the vehicle has only had one...
The contact owns a 2022 Honda HR-V. The contact stated while driving at various speeds, the vehicle lost motive power. The contact waited before restarting the vehicle and continued driving. The contact stated that the vehicle failed to restart immediately, and several attempts were needed to restart the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to the dealer who diagnosed the vehicle and determined that the battery had failed. The battery was replaced; however, the failure persisted. The vehicle failed to start when the vehicle was parked. The vehicle was taken to a certified mechanic, who was unable to diagnose the cause of the failure. The vehicle was taken to a mechanic and the dealer four times; however, the failure became persistent, and the vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was informed of the failure and opened a case. The manufacturer referred the contact to the NHTSA Hotline to report the failure....
I was driving to work when suddenly my car lost motor function and just stopped, despite me pushing the gas pedal. This has happened to me at least 4 times now since owning the car for less than two years. I have almost been rear-ended each time. This time, however, my car did not want to start back up again. It flashed the battery and oil light on my dash and proceeded to tell me to hit the brake and push button to start (even though it was running), so I turned the vehicle off and attempted to start it again like I have in the past when encountering this issue. When I went to re-start the car, it sputtered and wouldn't start until I waited and tried again. I am very concerned, as I have a dog that I have in the backseat and if I get rear-ended, I...
Dash lighting up and draining Battery and not able to start Also alarm going off by itself draining battery
On [XXX] while driving on [XXX] , the driver’s airbag in my 2022 Honda HR-V suddenly deployed without any impact or collision. This created a major safety hazard, obstructing vision and forcing the driver to pull over immediately. The seat belt tensioner also engaged, restricting movement. There were no warning lights, no forward collision warnings, and no external factors that could have caused deployment. A diagnostic inspection at Larry Hopkins Honda (Sunnyvale, CA) confirmed that the vehicle’s Supplemental Restraint System (SRS) recorded NO impact prior to deployment. This exact issue aligns with Honda’s Safety Recall 24-036 (Seat Weight Sensor Defect) for the 2020-2022 HR-V, yet my vehicle's VIN is not included in the recall. Despite multiple attempts to escalate with Honda Corporate and the dealership, Honda has refused to acknowledge this as a defect or cover the repair. This is a critical safety failure that could have caused a serious...
After filling up the gas tank, the next morning when started the electric parking brake and check engine warning lights appeared with flashing red parking light on. Everything seemed to be working fine. The parking brake worked, and engine was fine. After internet research I narrowed it down to either a battery (3-years old), or a bad tank of gas, I checked the gas cap, ok. I hooked up my OBE engine monitor and it coded P2DE1, with its 5 potential issues. The internet has many complaints and issues about this dating back to 2016. People have replaced fuel injectors, O2 sensors, etc., costing a lot of money on unnecessary repairs. I replaced the battery, and all the dashboard lights went out. The OEM battery lasts about 3-years. Apparently, if the voltage drops below what is needed numerous warning lights come on. It is unsafe. Mandatory software upgrade for pcm...
On Thursday last week, I went out to my car that I have parked in the garage the day before I had no issues with the vehicle drove it all day, but on Thursday, I left home to go out to make some errands hopped in my car and I tried to start it. First car wouldn’t turn on, so I thought maybe I should turn off headlights and interior lights. Then I waited a few minutes and thought maybe the cold temperatures was messing with the car. So I just walked away from the car and I got a battery slow drip thinking that the battery might be dead but battery said it had a full charge at 100% charge. So I tried my battery tester battery said battery was about 100% fully charged. So I waited until my friends got home so they could witness that I wasn’t...
My car frequently accelerates or brakes on its own. It gives brake warnings when no one is near me and the brake or accelerator get stuck.
All sensor warning lights came on the dashboard. Car would not move. Code showed no gas (tank was full). code for emergency brake (not engaged). Service department. of Honda dealer finally diagnosed fuel sensor getting stuck. Dealer said they would order part and replace it. They never ordered part and will not return our phone calls. They said they would talk to Honda to see if this model Honda was having this problem. No feedback. This situation has happened several times over the last 10 months. Usually happens when parked with engine running or moving very slowly. We turn off car for a few minutes. We are then able to move vehicle. Sensor lights eventually go off. We are afraid to go far from home because we never know when this will happen and if we can get it moving again. This car has about 31000 miles on it.
Received the following message on the infotainment screen upon starting my car: "system lost power and is acquiring its location from the GPS satellites. This usually takes less than 10 minutes. * Start the engine. * Park the vehicle in an open area away from trees, power lines, and tall buildings. * Remove loose articles, mobile phones, or electrical accessories located near the GPS antenna. * If this screen is displayed repeatedly when starting the vehicle, see your dealer" Took the car back to the dealership, they ran some basic tests and said they couldn't replicate the issue and to bring it back if it happened again. When it happened again, I returned to a Honda dealership that told me that I would have to pay a diagnostic fee to determine what was wrong and that since the error wasn't happening at the time more than likely they wouldn't be...
Brakes failed, air bags didn't deploy, seat belt failed, collision mitigation system failed
2022 HRV battery is draining while parked. I have had the new car for 2 years, low mileage with no problems until this past month October/November 2023 the battery has drained 3 times. Honda of Frankfort, KY replaced the battery (said it was defective). The car worked fine for a couple of weeks, then the battery drained again yesterday, November 13, 2023. I had it towed to Frankfort, Ky Neil Huffman Honda yesterday. I have had a tow company come to the car 3 times in the past month. The problem is probably not the battery, but something is draining the battery. Definitely a safety issue if car will not start when it is needed. No warning lights came on.
Engine failed to start when turning the key in the ignition. Occurred three separate occasions within 30 days @ 18,000. Engine light and electronic steering system lights remained on. Vehicle started after waiting one hour. On the third occasion, the car was towed to the dealer, and a service advisor experienced the same issue. However, 30 minutes later, a mechanic was able to start the engine at every attempt. There were no warning lights, other than the lights remaining on the dashboard when attempting to turn the key. (I have video of the experience - please see photo). I am submitting this notice because on all 3 occasions, Honda dealer performed diagnostics, but could not find an issue that caused the failed start. I was reluctant to keep a car with a problem that statistically would reoccur in the future, or perhaps might experience an even worse electrical problem. The...
I purchased the vehicle on 2/17/22 and shortly afterwards started noticing problems starting with acceleration car wouldn’t go past 45 mph or lower. The car radio system has static can’t get reception; the battery died requiring a jump. On 9/21/22 and January 10, 2023 I took car to dealer about these problems and other concerns and they said couldn’t verify my concerns. On 5/9/23 I set out for my first long distance trip from Vallejo CA, to Las Vegas NV after driving approximately 200-300 miles the dashboard light up light a Christmas tree with several system problem warnings as follow: Power Steering System (EPS) problem, Road Departure Mitigation, Vehicle Stability Assist (VSA) problem, Emissions System problem, All Wheel Drive System problem, Brake System problem, Brake Hold system problem, Hill Start Assist problem, Tire Pressure Monitoring System, Electronic Brake Distribution (EBD) continuously flashing, Hold Brake light, Oil light flashing and the...
This exact message was displayed on the infotainment screen when i started my car on march 9th 2023, march 15th and march 25th. The first time it happened i took the car back to the dealer as I had just picked it up from them approximately 2weeks prio after they had finished repairing the electrical system from a prior complaint about the car that i made to NHTSA.GOV in January 3rd 2023: "system lost power and is acquiring its location from the GPS satellites. This usually takes less than 10 minutes. * Start the engine. * Park the vehicle in an open area away from trees, power lines, and tall buildings. * Remove loose articles, mobile phones, or electrical accessories located near the GPS antenna. * If this screen is displayed repeatedly when starting the vehicle, see your dealer."
The vehicle started to encounter mechanical issues 10 days after delivery. The vehicle's radio, Apple Carplay, Bluetooth, and anti-theft system/radio unit started to encounter electrical issues, stating it had lost power. The issues were not as common at first but, grew to be persistent as the vehicle continued to be driven. The vehicle was in for service approximately 1-2 weeks ago from today's date and all the issues have started again. The issues that persist are the vehicle not being able to start multiple times in a week (does not depend if the vehicle is hot or cold, and/or if the vehicle has been recently driven or sitting), Apple Carplay consistently disconnecting, the anti-theft system/radio unit continually losing power and needing to acquire GPS satellites. The dealership did conclude that the battery was at fault for the no-start issues and replaced the battery, unfortunately, that did not solve the issues...
The NHTSA should recall these brakes or open an investigation alongside the electrical system. After reading the complaints on this website, I have found these problems in my 2022 Honda HR-V EX-L.
Just bought This 2022 HRV AWD EX back in October 2021. I already have one prior issue with the emissions problems and the brake system. When I took it to Honda they said they would take care of it and they did. Something about calibration and getting a part for my car. This morning I tried driving it when out of nowhere I get all the parking lights emissions problems and parking lights flashing and the car won’t even go faster than 10 mph while white smoke coming out of the exhaust and starts pulling and yanking it’s pretty scary when you driving and it happens out of nowhere. Now the I can’t even drive my brand new car that I bought. it shows me on the dash for me to pull over and park. Take to dealer sign on dash.
Car parked. When I went to drive, engine light, ((P))! Light and park light remained on. The car would NOT go into reverse. Turned car off. Turned car back on. After 15-20 mins car went into reverse. While driving on I-95 all 3 lights turned on with the Park light blinking. I pulled onto shoulder. Googled causes. I checked gas cap which was on tightly. This is extremely concerning as it states there is a problem with the electrical braking system. I purchased the car on December 11th 2021 and it’s already having issues. I was driving with an infant in the car. Someone needs to investigate why this happened and how to fix it before people end up in an accident.
