2022 HONDA ACCORD Forward Collision Avoidance Automatic Emergency Braking Problems

Additionally, the contact stated that while driving at various speeds, the collision mitigation braking system (CMBS) engaged while there were no other vehicles around. The contact related the failure to NHTSA Action Number: EA24002 (Forward Collision Avoidance). The contact stated that the failure was intermittent. The dealer was contacted, and an appointment was scheduled for a diagnostic test. The vehicle was not yet diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and informed the contact that the vehicle needed to be diagnosed three times, and a case would be opened if the failure persisted. Collision warning randomly activates when driving while no vehicles or objects are around. This has been ongoing, but this last time emergency braking activated extremely hard and would had caused a collision if there was a vehicle following as vehicle almost came to a complete stop on a 75 mph highway.

Vehicle won’t start brake hold system problem, vehicle stability assist system problem, hill start assist problem, electric power steering problem collision mitigation system problem all appear on the dash but vehicle won’t start. Battery is not the issue, tested the battery it’s at 12.5V. Hard reset the battery and jumpstarted but issue persist. Taking vehicle to dealer to diagnose issue but I saw lots of YouTube videos and forums of people having the same issue but don’t see a recall open for this issue occurring.

Car won't crank lights on dash on. KEEP saying ABS Braking system.

All vehicle assistance lights on such as e-break, vsa, mitigation system, and cruise control show up as faulty. Infotainment system goes off on its own as well. Very bad electrical parking break light always shows up when vehicle starts. Taking it to dealer multiple times they claimed it’s ok.

Woke up and started my car, all the lights were on including engine light. no adapter cruise, steering light was on. Screen also was saying avoid speeding. Every notification was telling me go to the dealer ship. I took it Howdy Honda in Texas and they said we will need to do a diagnostic and it was for 255 for to see what the problem was. They looked and said I had code for po172(rich) and misfire on p0301 told me I need to replace fuel injectors. Which cost 1933$. Which is way too much and fuel injectors a labor should be covered under Federal Emissions Warranty but they said no. So I am filing a recall for fuel injectors for my 2022 Honda accord sports se. I am unable to drive because it’s in limp mode. I also have documentation from howdy for quote.

While driving on the interstate, the car in front of my stepped on their brakes hard and immediately let off. I was several car lengths behind the car, but my emergency braking activated. The brake pedal went out of reach and I tried to step on the gas but the car would not accelerate. Two cars passed me on both sides, but luckily there was no one behind me or they would have hit me. Honda sensing radar failure no damage at all is available for an inspection at any time. Honda sensing front collision warning and adaptive cruise control intermittently stops working for no apparent reason along with error message “radar obstructed” happens intermittently without cause since car was brand new. Has been inspected by Honda dealer several times and they have reportedly corrected the error but problem still persist.

Everytime I start my car in the cold I get all these warning messages on my dash, in this case it just let me choose 2 options but I also get Auto idle stop problem, mitagation problem etc. I took it to the dealer they dont know what could be the proble. There are no recallas on this and people on forums are saying it can be a module. This is dangerous.

I was getting on a freeway, via an on ramp, I was the first vehicle from the light, so there were no vehicles ahead of me. As I was about to merge onto the right lane of the freeway, my vehicle slams to a stop. The BRAKE icon appeared on the control panel, and worried about the vehicle behind me maybe hitting me, I attempt to pull to the right to get off the road. Several times while driving the automatic breaking function activated while there was no vehicle or obstacles in front of me. This caused the vehicle behind me to swerve in order to avoid hitting me.

I had just merged onto a road and suddenly without warning the automatic emergency brakes applied. There were no vehicles in front of me or other objects. When turn to exit highway the car stop unexpectedly. It happened more than 5 times. I talked with the dealer but they not pay attention to my claim The dealer check the suspension twice and denied there was a problem. But Tire kingdom and an independent service verified a problem in the suspension system

The vehicle will sometimes brake even though no obstacle is present. This has occurred at highway speeds. The sudden brake event is jarring, and could cause me to be involved in a collision. The vehicle is relatively new, and covered by a factory warranty. I described the problem to the dealer's service department. The service department representative said he would not be able to repair the problem unless he could replicate it. The problem is intermittent, and is unlikely to be replicated. This means that the problem will likely remain unrepaired and dangerous.

I was driving approximately 30 miles an hour with my foot on the accelerator when the automatic braking stoped the car dead. The automatic brake message flashed on the dashboard at that time. There were no cars or anything in front of me on the road. I was then rear ended by the car behind me. The car was taken to a collision shop, and there was a scan done on the car. There have been no other inspections of the cars braking system as far as I know. The problem was reported to my insurance company, Geico. The problem was reported to the police officer responding to the scene of the accident and the collision/towing company.

My car will warn me of impeding collision when there is nothing in front of my car, it will brake randomly or tell me to brake at unnecessary times, it will move the steering wheel when it suspects I am departing a lane even though I am not departing a lane.

About three weeks into car ownership while drivng on the highway during the day, I changed lanes and the brakes engaged suddenly for about 2 seconds. No one was behind me or in front of me. In more than a couple of instances the vehicle has miscalculated the need for emergency braking causing the vehicle to suddenly brake in traffic and also when the lane keeping assist system was activated, in which no braking was necessary and no vehicle or pedestrian was nearby at all. The Collision Mitigation Braking System malfunctioned The Brake warning light appeared and the car started braking and the car started jerking..it is a safety risk ....no one was around but if there was a car in back of me there would have been a collision hazard. This happened twice I brought the car to the Dealership to be inspected They did an advanced diagnostic of the system and made sure no codes were stored in the PCM. I was told they could not find anything and they were working with Hondas Engineers about this problem. They said they could not release the vehicle until they had answer as it was a safety issue. Their conclusion was debris from he sensors...and it could happen again if a bug or rock it the sensor areas I also reported it to Honda Motor Co. case #13364245

Experienced very hard and rapid braking from the Collision Mitigation Braking System when no obstruction or collision was imminent. The dashboard indicated "BRAKING" at the time of the event, but there was otherwise no other warning or indication before the event happened. Issue has happened several times. Sometimes when drifting over a dashed line when merging onto a highway, but also happened this week when driving in a straight line while it was raining. All hard braking was when vehicle was over 50 MPH and on a highway.

Car applies emergency braking with no imminent danger ahead. Very sudden, without warning, and very startling. Very dangerous especially with with cars following behind. Feature can be disabled but will automatically reenable when the car is restarted.

Within 15k miles the cars wheel bearing completely went and needed to be replaced. The steering in my opinion hasn’t been the same since. I’ve had it in the shop 3-4 different times in relation to the wheels/steering. The car will also randomly brake as if it’s going to hit something when forward collision assistance is on. It’s nearly got me rear ended 3 times. The original dealership I took it too since I was out of town put that something was hit when in truth i never said that and it was actually the tow trucks wench that damaged the dust shield.

I've had this car for about 3 months an it has happened at least 4 times. No accidents have happened because of this however it easily could have resulted in one. Also I'm filling and complaining about the lane keeping assist. Multiple times ive be driving with the lane keeping assist on hands on the wheel and all of a sudden it'll try to jerk me off the road this is extremely dangerous. If I'd have been paying less attention I would have definitely ended up in a ditch or worse.
