2019 HONDA ACCORD Forward Collision Avoidance Warnings Problems

There is loss of power when accelerating and all the warning lights are staying on when the car starts which is disengaging all of the advanced driver assistant systems.

Wednesday 10/01/25 I was driving to work on the highway with cruise control on, it was a empty road with nothing in front or behind me, my steering wheel got yanked out of my hands and turned all the way to the right towards the guard rail, then the steering wheel got yanked all the way to the left automatically, I did a 180 degree spin and crash my 2019 Honda Accord Touring 2.0L. I believe the Lane Keeping Assist System (LKAS) was at fault as well as the Collision Mitigation Braking System (CMBS). The vehicle got towed off the highway directly to a local body shop. The vehicle is available for inspection upon request. Mine and others safety was put at risk because the vehicle decided to crash itself potentially killing me or other people. My son was driving home from work when car suddenly went into limp mode with check engine light and all other safety light came on the dash. Driving around 50mph and my son nearly collided with multiple cars as the became hard to steer and brakes unreliable. Luckily no one was hurt this time. Car has 83k miles. was taken to the dealer and diagnostics run and provided with a $5000. repair to replace the head gasket due to coolant leaking into cylinder #3 causing misfires. I have reached out to Honda of America with the issue.

During highway driving the collision system starts to brake without any risk or objects in view. Happen twice within 10 minutes

Every light on my dashboard came on at once. I took it to a Honda dealership for a diagnostic check and they said it was my turbo but every light is still on.

If you are having this problem where every warning indicator is illuminated, codes scanned but no clear solutions to the “Christmas Tree dash board This is an ongoing issue with the 10th generation and there is no definitive “fix” recognized by Honda. Sometimes it is the battery, the alternator, the head gasket, the ECM, injectors….the list goes on and on. Sometimes the repair fixes the issue, but based on research, the issue typically comes back shortly after the service department throws another part at the problem.

Hi. All the warning lights came on one morning. Looking online many people are have the same issue.

Multiple times while driving my car the automatic braking system activated with no reason, brakes were momentarily engaged. It has happened at speeds of 10-75 mph. I and any drivers near me were absolutely put in danger. I took it to the dealer when I first experienced it in 2020 and 2021 they were not able to reproduce it and told me there was nothing I could do. Every time this happens especially when I am on the freeway it is VERY disturbing and causes me a great deal of anxiety. There is no way to get this to stop. I have attempted to deactivate anything related to the automatic braking feature and it still engages. The orange flashing brake messages come up randomly. Im very afraid I am going to get into an accident. My family has seen enough tragedy and I don't want to add to that.

I've had head gasket failure twice and now turbo failure. I have documentation from John Eagle Honda to support as well as several others who are willing to do a Class Action Lawsuit in regards to the 10th generation Honda Accord 1.5 T and some of the other trims. I have a list of other owners like myself who have paid out of pocket constantly to get our vehicles fixed. My last straw for reaching out is when it stalled on me while on the interstate for the second time and almost getting in a horrible accident. Something has to be done, because at this point Honda has been called several times and acts if no one is reporting it when indeed they are. Car broke abruptly. Warning messages came up on dashboard including ACC error, brake system error, collision mitigation warning.

Car will randomly fully brake and stop while driving and collision system warning will show up on dash even when there is nothing In front or near car. As well as all the warning lights randomly going off when there is no issue with the car.

I was driving about 35 mph with nothing in front of me and suddenly, the “brake” warning came on and the automatic brake engaged. There was a car behind me, but thankfully far enough behind that a rear end collision did not occur. I’m very concerned. I think the system is called CMBS (collision mitigation braking system). I would just as soon not have to have it!

Emergency front collision braking system activates out of nowhere, causing the car to suddenly brake with no warning, although there is nothing in front of the vehicle. Now all the mitigation system lights are on, and the braking system is no longer working. I took it to Honda to repair it twice within the year, and now it happened again, almost causing an accident.

This car brakes on its own . I reported it to Honda since I have had it have been dealing with the issue it brakes on its own I filled out a form with you guys after reading about “Ghost Braking” so I am not alone this car is dangerous it has been serviced multiple times Honda Corp is aware requested a buy back. Wondering where you guys are in your investigation I have pictures the sensors are all out of whack mitigation control warnings etc but the car literally brakes on its own highway and street Honda states they cannot disable the features. This is the second time it has happened with my car that the automatic emergency braking system got applied and there was no one in the front. The braking system beeped as if it was about to collide and then it braked. Today a car behind me was almost rear ended me because of this sudden braking.

Vehicle ACC, Lane Departure system and collision mitigation braking system all turn off and there is no recall. This has caused unwanted braking at times as well. Overall, this system is completely non-functional in my vehicle and I am seeing this issue with other people all over the internet. There has been a new battery installed, multiple attempts finding a solution and nothing on the scanner comes up. WHY HAS THIS NOT BEEN SET AS A RECALL? IT IS EXTREMELY DANGEROUS!

Car will apply brakes randomly without warning. This will happen when a vehicle is in the left or right driving lanes. Car has been to the dealer to address the issue as recently as 7/17/2023.

It happens way too often, but my automatic emergency braking will brake randomly. Several times I’ve almost been hit by a car behind or in front of me. I also notice when the sun hits the vehicle in front of me just right it will do my automatic braking even when I am not close to the vehicle.

The car braked on its own without any obstruction or person in front of car, which almost caused me to get rear ended.

While going west bound on I820 toll road. 6/8/2023 @ 5pm. While in adaptive cruise control. Cars 5 to 6 car lengths ahead of us were having to come to a quick stop due to debris on the road. The Honda started to break, then break aggressively, then the “BREAK” notification light started to flash, and I lightly press the brakes. But the tire locked and we begin to skid (unnecessarily). I release the brake pedal. We stop skidding but the car continued to brake to a complete stop with no power to the accelerator. Causing cars behind us to stop aggressively to avoid from hitting us. We sat on the toll road for a good 5 to 8 seconds before power was regained on the accelerator. We never came more then 2 car lengths from the car in front of us.

Emergency braking did not engage when coming up to a stopped car. Nor any of the warning lights or warning sound came on.

Radio fails to start when turn the vehicle on. If the radio does start it will shut off while driving. When this happens the forward collision alert fails.

While driving at 70 mph on freeway, driver experienced a sudden loss of power/rapid deceleration with no throttle response and no acceleration. Vehicle drivetrain seemed to be disengaged. TCM Gauge control error indicated on dash, also indicated on dash: ACC Adaptive cruise control system problem, collision mitigation breaking system problem, road departure mitigation system problem.

We own a Honda Accord with approximately 39,405 miles on it when we took it to the Bob Howard Honda Dealership located at 13201 North Kelley Oklahoma City, OK 73131 for repair/diagnosis on August 25, 2022. The failure of the Honda included every sensor displaying in the vehicle from emission to lane change, etc. The dealership stated that the only code they noticed was a low fuel pressure but there was no issue other than that and these new cars are sensitive to low gas in vehicles which they felt contributed to every emergency sensor warning displayed with safety issues. We picked vehicle back up and on August 27, 2022, my wife was stranded cause the vehicle just stopped and would not start again with the same codes as before. While driving with girlfriend. On a 30 mph street,in Avon,Mass. Suddenly my car brakes In gaged, with Bright “Brakes” on dashboard. Pulsed brakes,slowing me down to right side. Pulled right over, scared Obviously!! My car was bought Oct-2019. Only 14,000 miles on it. Mint Condition,so when this happened. Was very Shocked, not as others before me. On March 21st, 2022, I was driving between 35-40mph in clear conditions. I had adaptive cruise control, and lane mitigation on. My vehicle flashed “BRAKE” on the instrument cluster and HUD. The vehicle slammed on the brakes. The braking force was strong enough to lurch me forward and in the process of the vehicle braking, my steering wheel veered to the left and I almost hit a divided barrier. There were no cars in front of me or any obstructions in the way that would have activated the emergency braking. This is the second time in a year my car has done this, but the first time that the braking changed the vehicle’s direction.

ON THREE SEPARATE OCCASIONS, I HAVE BEEN DRIVING AND MY CAR HAS APPLIED EMERGENCY BRAKES FOR NO REASON. NO VEHICLES IN MY IMMEDIATE AREA, INCLUDING IN FRONT OF ME. ON THE FIRST AND MAIN OCCASION, I WAS IN THE LEFT LANE TRAVELING AT ABOUT 75MPH. MY CAR FLASHED THE EMERGENCY "BRAKE" NOTIFICATION ON THE DRIVER INFORMATION SIDE OF THE DASHBOARD, AND AUTOMATICALLY APPLIED BRAKES BRINGING ME DOWN TO ABOUT 50-55 MPH BEFORE THE WARNING WENT AWAY, BRAKES WERE RELEASED AND EVERYTHING PROCEEDED AS NORMAL. I WAS AT A RED STOP LIGHT ON A LOCAL STREET. IT WAS A CLEAR, SUNNY DAY. THE LIGHT TURNED GREEN AND I STARTED TO PROCEED. I WAS IN THE LEFT HAND TRAFFIC LANE (THERE ARE TWO LANES FOR A LEFT HAND TURN AT THIS SPOT). AS I PROCEEDED TO MAKE THE TURN, THE BRAKE MITIGATION SYSTEM ACTIVATED THE BRAKE. THERE WAS NOTHING IN FRONT OF ME. THERE WAS A CAR BEHIND ME AND TO MY RIGHT. I DRIVE A MANUAL TRANSMISSION SO THIS ACTION CAUSED MY CAR TO STALL. LUCKILY THE CAR BEHIND ME DID NOT HIT ME. I TRIED TO RESTART MY CAR QUICKLY. I HAD A HARD TIME RESTARTING THE CAR AS THE PARKING BRAKE MUST BE ON TO START THE CAR AS WELL AS THE CLUTCH DEPRESSED AND FOOT BRAKE PRESSED.
