Defect: GENERAL MOTORS IS RECALLING 5,862 MY 2000-2002 CHEVROLET BLAZER, MY 2000-2001 GMC JIMMY, AND MY 2000 OLDSMOBILE BRAVADA SPORT UTILITY VEHICLES. THE MULTIFUNCTION SWITCH COULD DEVELOP AN OPEN CIRCUIT CONDITION THAT RESULTS IN THE STOP LAMPS AND THE REAR HAZARD LAMPS BECOMING INOPERATIVE. THE CENTER HIGH MOUNTED STOP LAMP AND TURN SIGNAL FUNCTIONS ARE NOT AFFECTED.
Consequence: THE LOSS OF STOP LAMPS AND REAR HAZARD LAMPS COULD FAIL TO WARN A FOLLOWING DRIVER THAT THE VEHICLE IS BRAKING AND/OR IS STOPPED AND COULD RESULT IN A CRASH.

Driver and Passenger door will not stay shut while driving, I almost fall out the passenger door while my boyfriend was driving the car from Fett's city motor in omaha nebraska when we bought it the door wouldnt shut we have to lift the doors and slim them shut and lock them and that doesnt even work. My Little 15 year old baby brother and his girlfriend was riding with me while driving down [XXX] and the both doors flew open and i didnt have anywhere to pull over to shut the doors my little brother fall out and his girlfriend. I put down $500 on [XXX] and when we bought the car Fette's motors knew the Driver and Passenger doors wasn't shutting the correct way and they still let me buy the car and that is a health hazard and dangerous. Fett's Motor shouldnt be allowed to sell cars or at least sell cars that isn't a a dangerous zone or safety hazard. My 15 year old baby brother had to go to the ER because he and his girlfriend fall out the passenger door and driver door. The contact owns a 2001 GMC Jimmy. The contact stated that while at a complete stop with the brake pedal depressed, the vehicle turned off independently. The contact stated that he had to depress the brake pedal and the accelerator pedal at the same time to keep the vehicle running. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where it was diagnosed that the spider fuel injectors needed to be replaced. Additionally, there was very low compression on cylinder #1 and #3 of 55 PSI. The dealer informed the contact that the vehicle was unrepairable. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 72,000.
