2011 GMC ACADIA Suspension Problems

The contact owns a 2011 GMC Acadia. The contact stated while driving 35 mph, she heard an abnormal noise from the rear passenger side tire. The contact stated no warning light was illuminated. The contact took the vehicle to the local dealer but was unable to duplicate the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer had not been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 140,000.

The contact owns a 2011 GMC Acadia. The contact stated that while driving 60 MPH, the subframe underneath the driver’s side felt loose and not properly aligned. The contact merged to the right lane and continued to drive the vehicle. The contact stated that her son and daughter drove the vehicle and noticed the failure as well. The contact stated that the vehicle was taken to a local Pep Boys who replaced all four tires and performed a 4-wheel alignment; however, the failure had been reoccurring and was more noticeable while making turns and driving around curves. The dealer and the manufacturer were not notified of the failure. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The approximate failure mileage was unknown.

TOOK CAR IN FOR OIL CHANGE. GOT IT BACK AND FRONT STRUTS WERE STUCK EXTENDED. TOOK BACK NEXT DAY SAID THEY WERE BAD. WE' REPLACED ON 2/02/2018 WITH 72945 MILES WITH GM REPLACEMENT PART NUMBER 22902412. COULD EASILY LOSE CONTROL. HAD TO LOWER TIRE PRESSURES TO GET BACK TO DEALER. REPLACED AGAIN ON 10/1/2020. WHAT KEEPS FROM HAPPENING AGAIN?

AT 89,000 THE "SERVICE ALL WHEEL DRIVE" LIGHT CAME ON SEVERAL TIMES ON DASH. MECHANIC STATES THAT "REAR DIFFERENTIAL DRUM" NEEDS TO BE REPLACED IN ORDER FOR VEHICLE'S ALL WHEEL DRIVE SYSTEM TO OPERATE PROPERLY.

I PURCHASED THIS VEHICLE ABOUT A YEAR AND A HALF AGO AND HAVE BEEN HAVING PROBLEMS STARTING THE CAR EVERY TIME THAT I PUT GAS. THE DEALERSHIP THAT I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE FROM STATED THAT THE VEHICLE ONLY HAD ONE PREVIOUS OWNER BUT REFUSED TO GIVE ME A CARFAX REPORT. THEY STATED THAT THEY DID A FULL VEHICLE INSPECTION, AND STATED THERE WERE NO DEFECTS, BUT NO INSPECTION REPORT WAS IN THE CAR WHAT SO EVER. I AM READY TO FILE AN ARBITRATION COMPLAINT IF THIS SITUATION DOESN'T GET RESOLVED BECAUSE I AM STILL MAKING MONTHLY PAYMENTS ON THE LOAN.

2011 GMC ACADIA, #14329B SPECIAL COVERAGE ADJUSTMENT-LOSS OF POWER STEERING ASSIST. COVERAGE GOOD FOR PERIOD OF 10 YEARS OR 150,000 MILES. ACADIA STARTED HAVING POWER STEERING PROBLEM IN JAN 2017. 2/1/2017 SERVICE ACADIA AT THE DEALER'S FROM 2/1/2017 UNTIL 2/8/2017 TO REPLACE STEERING PUMP. DROVE THE CAR FROM THE DEALER, NOTICED IT WAS SCARY, BOUNCING RIGHT AWAY. TOOK IT BACK RIGHT AWAY. THE ADVISOR TOLD ME THAT SINCE THE CAR HAD BEEN LEFT ON THE LIFT THE STRUTS ON THE SHOCKS HAD EXPANDED. MECHANIC DROVE THE ACADIA AND SAID IT WAS SAFE TO DRIVE. DROVE HOME AND OTHER PEOPLE SAID IT WAS NOT NORMAL. TOOK THE ACADIA BACK ON 2/21/2017. ON 2/22/2017 THE ADVISOR CALLED AND SAID THE CAR NEEDED NEW STRUTS FOR $648.53. THE CAR HAD ONLY 31, 180 MILES.
