While driving to work in my 2013 Ford Taurus I went to take a left and the power steering was suddenly gone and the steering wheel was hard to turn. I nearly hit another car and had to brake hard to miss it. I parked at work and after work I started the car and it was fine until about a mile before I got home. Then it happened again and I could hear a scraping like sound when I turned. The steering became very jerky and resistant at lower speeds but I never got a warning light or message. I brought the vehicle in to an independent mechanic, where it was discovered that the power steering control module (PSCM) had failed and needed to be replaced as well as the rack and pinion. The contact owns a 2013 Ford Taurus. The contact stated while driving at various speeds and turning the steering wheel to the left or the right, the contact heard an abnormal sound. The contact stated there was no warning light illuminated. The contact had taken the vehicle to an independent mechanic who diagnosed the vehicle and determined that the electric power steering assist had started to fail and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. Additionally, the contact stated that the front suspension was bouncing every time the contact drove or any deformity in the road surface. The contact had taken the vehicle to another independent mechanic who diagnosed the vehicle and determined that the driver’s and passenger’s side shock absorbers needed to be replaced. Put new tiers on in August with a new alignment and it is eating the tires up on the inside tire wall had to put new tires on again
The contact owns a 2013 Ford Taurus. The contact stated that while his wife was driving at an undisclosed speed, she lost control of the vehicle. The contact's wife veered into the median and had the vehicle towed to the dealer. The dealer diagnosed that the rear toe link was fractured and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and advised the contact to file a complaint with the NHTSA Hotline. The failure mileage was approximately 130,000.
I was in a right hand curve and it felt like my wheel flipped to one side. My steering felt loose. I took it to the shop and had them inspect it. Nothing was wrong with my suspension. I continued to drive it. My steering became even more loose and sloppy. I was struggling to stay in my lane due to the loosened steering. I have had it checked many times and nothing. When it rains I am jerked all over the road from water. It feels like my tires are being pulled in opposite directions at the same time while I am slung into on coming traffic.
Rear toe links loose makes my car feel like I don’t have control when steering. Took the car in for repair they had to be replaced.

RIVERTOWN FORD HAS CLAIMED TO INSPECT THE REAR TOELINK AND COULD NOT HAVE CONSIDERING I'VE FELT THE REAR END TRAILING FROM TIME TO TIME AND NOTICED UPON INSPECTION DEPLOYED BY MYSELF VISUALLY THAT THE DRIVER SIDE TOELINK HAD BEEN CRACKING. WHEN I NOTIFIED FORD BY PHONE THE DEALERSHIP AT THAT TIME BRUSHED ME OFF WHEN I FINALLY TALKED THEM INTO AT LEAST DOING A MULTI POINT INSPECTION THAT I PAID FOR THEY CLAIMED THEY HADN'T NOTICED ANYTHING. THEY THEN AND SINCE THEN REFUSE TO EVEN LOOK AT THE SUSPENSION WITHOUT A 300$ FEE. (2 THE OTHER INSTANCE IS AFTER RECEIVING DAMAGE TO MY PASSENGER SIDE FENDER AND OBTAINING A "SHORT" IN MY BCM I STARTED TO GET IMMOBERLIZER MESSAGES. P161-2A INCORRECT MESSAGE FROM IMMOBILIZER. I DIAGNOSED THE ISSUE WITH MY LAPTOP AND OBD2 PASSTHRU DEVICE AND AFTER SEEING THE ISSUE WAS FROM PATS WHICH BY THE WAY ISN'T EVEN PRESENT...
TOOK CAR IN BECAUSE OF POOR HANDLING AND ACCESSOVE TIRE WARE FIND OUT TOE CONTROL LINK IS BAD AFTER CHECKING THERE'S BEEN A PROBLEM WITH THAT PART. I THINK THERE SHOULD BE A RECALL FOR SAFETY REASONS.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 FORD TAURUS. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING AT VARIOUS SPEEDS, THERE WAS AN ABNORMAL VIBRATION COMING FROM THE REAR END OF THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VIBRATION WAS FELT IN THE SEAT AND STEERING WHEEL. THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT WHILE DEPRESSING THE BRAKE PEDAL, THE REAR END OF THE VEHICLE LOWERED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC AND WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE REAR SUSPENSION LATERAL LINK HAD DETACHED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE CONTACT REFERENCED NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 20V072000 (SUSPENSION) AND STATED THE VEHICLE EXPERIENCED THE SAME FAILURE. THE DEALER AND MANUFACTURER WERE MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT A TAURUS-SHO MODEL AND THEREFORE NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 127,497.
HAD THE REAR TOE LINK RECALL PERFORMED ABOUT 2 WEEKS AGO. FINALLY DECIDED TO LOOK AND THE OLD LINKS ARE STILL ON THE CAR. EMAILED PICTURES TO SERVICE ADVISOR EARLY MORNING CALLED A FEW MINS LATER SAID HE GET THEM TO HIS GM MANAGER ASAP. NEVER GOT A RESPONSE DECIDED I'D SWING BY ON MY WAY HOME. ASKED WHAT THE DEAL WAS. SAID THEY HADN'T HAD A CHANCE TO LOOK AT IT YET. [XXX], CAN I AT LEAST HAVE SOMETHING SAYING IT'S SAFE TO DRIVE WITH THESE OLD RECALLED LINKS THEY DENIED THE REQUEST. SAID MAYBE FORD CHANGED THE PART AND IT'S NOT WHAT YOU THINK IT SHOULD LOOK LIKE. ASKED ASSISTANT SERVICE MANAGER TO LOOK AT THE LINKS. EXPLAINED THE WELD THAT HOLD THE ROD AND BUSHING TOGETHER IS WHAT'S BREAKING. THE NEW PART HAS NO WELD AND IS ONCE PIECE. SHE SAYS SHE'S NOT SURE BUT IT DOESN'T...

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 FORD TAURUS. THE CONTACT RECEIVED NOTIFICATION OF NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 20V072000 (SUSPENSION) HOWEVER, THE PART TO DO THE RECALL REPAIR WAS NOT YET AVAILABLE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE MANUFACTURER HAD EXCEEDED A REASONABLE AMOUNT OF TIME FOR THE RECALL REPAIR. AN UNKNOWN DEALER WAS CONTACTED AND CONFIRMED THAT PARTS WERE NOT YET AVAILABLE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE. THE CONTACT HAD NOT EXPERIENCED A FAILURE. VIN TOOL CONFIRMS PARTS NOT AVAILABLE.
IN THE END OF JUNE WHILE DRIVING THE ABOVE CAR, THE LEFT REAR TOE LINK/LATERAL ARM BROKE WHILE CROSSING A BRIDGE ON A COUNTY ROAD APROX 45 MPH CAUSING A VIOLENT FISH TAIL, LOSS OF CONTROL. INSPECTION OF THE BROKEN TOE LINK/ARM SHOWS AN OLD CRACK. THIS PART WAS REPLACED. ONE MONTH LATER ON JULY 27, 2020 THE RIGHT REAR LATERAL ARM/LINK BROKE WHILE MY WIFE WAS DRIVING ON A HIGHWAY AT SPEED 55-60 MPH RESULTING IN A CRASH CAUSING CONSIDERABLE PROPERTY AND VEHICLE DAMAGE. NO POLICE REPORT FILED. A RECALL FOR THIS TYPE OF CAR IS ACTIVE BUT DOES NOT INCLUDE MY MODEL. IM SURE MY CAR CONTAINS THE SAME PARTS THAT FAILED. THE RECALL NUMBERS ARE CAMPAIGN ID 20V072000. RECALL DATE 2020-02-11. FORD RECALL NUMBER 20S04. AN INSURANCE CLAIM IS IN THE PROCESS NOW.
VEHICLE KEEPS SLIPPING AND MAKING CLUNKING NOISES WHEN GOING DOWN THE HIGHWAY. I DIDN'T HAVE THIS ISSUE UNTIL A MONTH AGO AND IT SEEMS TO BE GETTING WORSE. THE GUY AT BELLE TIRE SAID THE RACK IS A COMMON ISSUE WITH FORD TAURUS'. TRYING TO KEEP AWAY FROM BUMP AND TURNS BUT I HAVE A LOT WHEN DRIVING IN GRAND RAPIDS. I'VE ALMOST HIT CARS BECAUSE IT RANDOMLY PULLS ME IN ONE DIRECTION. VEHICLE IS ONLY MOVING WHEN IT HAPPENS AND HAPPENS BOTH ON THE HIGHWAY AND WHEN I'M GOING IN REVERSE WITH THE WHEEL TURNED ALL THE WAY IN ONE DIRECTION.
I OWN A 2013 FORD TAURUS LIMITED. I KEEP MY VEHICLE WELL MAINTAINED BY MYSELF OR THE MECHANIC. I HAVE HAS CLUNKING SOUNDS COMING FROM THE PASSENGER SIDE FRONT END. MY MECHANIC REPLACED BOTH FRONT STRUTS AND BOTH SWAY BAR LINKS. THE NOISE HAD STOPPED FOR APPROX: A WEEK. NOISE CAME BACK MECHANIC CHANGED STRUT SAYING BAD STRUT. AGAIN HAVE SAME PROBLEM. DETAILS OF BAD CLUNKING NOISE.......NOISE SEEMS TO BE FRONT LEFT SIDE, I AND BE PARKED AND MOVE STEERING WHEEL 1/4 TURN LEFT AND RIGHT AND HEAR NOISE. IT SEEMS TO EFFECT STEERING AT LOW SPEEDS TURNING. I TRAVEL 500 MILE A WEEK FOR WORK 98% HIGHWAYS. I HAVE READ COUNTLESS COMPLAINTS AND NO ONE HAS A SOLUTION. DRIVER'S SIDE REAR TIE ROD SEPARATED AT MODERATE SPEED RESULTING IN TEMPORARY LOSS OF CONTROL AND NEAR CRASH (FISH TAILED UNTIL CAR STOPPED). FORD DEALER INSPECTED AND FOUND DRIVERS SIDE REAR TIE ROD BROKEN AT BALL AND SOCKET. FORD DEALER ALSO FOUND PASSENGER SIDE REAR UPPER CONTROL ARM LOOSE. FORD DEALER ALSO FOUND LEAKING PASSENGER SIDE, REAR SHOCK; ALL BEFORE 90K MILES.

THIS OCCURRED AT A LOW SPEED (10MPH) UPON MORE CLOSELY INSPECTING THE VEHICLE, IT APPEARS THAT THE AXLE WAS BROKEN OFF OF THE VEHICLE.
