Clunking in the front end around 20,000 miles. Brought to multiple dealers and they all said no problem found yet clearly hear clunking both sides front going over bumps or steering back and forth quickly. Finally I just replaced them and noise gone. Second thing is headliner is completely ruined from moisture intrusion and can visibly be seen but dealer states no leaks present yet my headliner is water stained looking like those wet tiles in a school. Third is my transmission. It is very erratic when shifting and sometimes flares when downshifting. Dealers state no problems exist. Operates as designed, yet I have driven other mavericks and they do not have the same issues as myself. I have changed the fluid with genuine ford ulv transmission fluid from dealer at about 50k miles. I change my oil every 3k, changed my differentials and transfer case all with genuine fluid....
The vehicle begins to vibrate in the front end when accelerating and reaching 80 km/h. It becomes extremely unstable. The dealership was unable to find the cause of the problem.
The rear drive unit (rdu) begin to shutter and lock rear tires at low turning speeds. The vehicle was out of warranty with 85k miles. I paid a Ford dealer to replace the rdu and 2 weeks later the same issue was occurring.
I was at a stoplight, when the light turned green I went to press the gas and the whole car lost power and died. The car stalled and would not turn over again. The vehicle had power but would not start the engine. All the alerts were flashing on the dash and the car would not go into neutral, so I was stuck in the middle of the roadway. I followed the procedures to activate the manual override and place the car into neutral and the vehicle would still not move. The electrical brake would not allow the vehicle to move. We tried repeatedly to put the car into neutral to move out of an active roadway and would be able to push the vehicle about an inch before the electrical break would kick in again. The vehicle would not start regardless of what was attempted. We even disconnected the...
The vehicle vibrates or surges rapidly when accelerating or going up a steep hill. I have been advised that it is due to defective axles which are currently on backorder with no expected ETA.
No warning transmission went out while driving on freeway. Lost all power and vehicle would not engage into gear again.
The transmission is occasionally without any warning disengaging while driving. You must then try to get off the road turn the truck off put the key back to run with engine off, shift it to park, start it again and then you can drive it again until it does it again.
While exiting highway (removing foot from gas) vehicle thumped. The a “ Powertrain Malfunction / Reduced Power” message came up on dash.
At 70,000 (stock truck) truck began shaking under load/ acceleration. Both front CV axles have failed.
At 61,000 miles on the odometer and the Cv shafts have to be replaced. Ford has no supply on hand and is on a global back order until the end of April. Part adviser said that this is a consistent issue with mavericks.
My truck's CV axles broke around 20,000 miles. Replacement parts weren't available. This was a safety issue because I expected a new truck with low mileage to be reliable. If I wasn't technically inclined, I might not have understood the danger. The dealership replaced them under warranty, but they didn't inspect the broken parts. The truck shook badly when accelerating, which was the warning sign.
CV axles failed at around 28k. Replacement parts not available nationwide. Ford has recognized an engineering flaw in the axles, but have not issued a recall. I was informed it was dafe to drive while waiting for new cv axles.
Cv axles bad went out at 29000 miles could break and your truck could roll
The contact owns a 2022 Ford Maverick. The contact stated while driving approximately 65 MPH, the vehicle lost motive power. The vehicle failed to accelerate as designed. The powertrain message was displayed. Additionally, the WRENCH symbol was displayed. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer, but the dealer was unable to duplicate the failure. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The Ford Pass App alerted the contact of the failure. The vehicle was taken to another local dealer, Loudon Motors Ford LLC (3476 Union Ave SE, Minerva, OH 44657); where it was diagnosed that the throttle assembly had caused the failure. The vehicle was repaired, but the failure recurred. The manufacturer was contacted and referred the contact to the local dealer for assistance. The failure mileage was approximately 20,000.
The contact owns a 2022 Ford Maverick. The contact stated that while driving on the highway at 70 MPH, the transmission unexpectedly shifted out of drive. The contact pulled over; however, the transmission failed to shift to park(P). The contact activated the parking brake and disconnected the battery to park the vehicle. The vehicle was restarted; however, the transmission failed to shift into park. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the transmission jumped out of gear, and the contact pulled over and had the vehicle towed to a local dealer to be diagnosed. The contact was informed that the transmission was faulty and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure milage was 126,000.
Front CV axles. Front end shakes really bad at 30-50 mph. Dealer changed front passenger side CV axle but it still shakes really bad. I'll be bringing it back to the dealership, but warranty expires soon they need to have a recall and a better replacement part for this fix. I am not the only one with this problem.
Was not able to put the car in reverse. Had to be pulled out of driveway by another truck. When driving forward the engine was very loud RPMs were in the beginning of the red zone. Took car straight to dealer. Told the transmission fluid sensor was broken.
CV AXLE SHUDDER
This morning before my drive to work, a service vehicle soon message popped up on the screen. During my drive to work the vehicle began to respond sluggishly and lose power and acceleration on the highway. My safety and the safety of others was put at risk and the vehicle was unable to maintain highway speeds. I was able to make it to work driving at reduced speeds, and after parking the vehicle received a message on my Ford App of a Powertrain Malfunction / Reduced Power alert. My vehicle was serviced by Ford on 06/20/2024 for a recall related to the Powertrain Control Module (PCM).
Premature failure of both front CV axles. The vehicle had an extremely unsafe vibration in the front end during acceleration. Dealer has replaced both axles under warranty. This is a known failure and many of these vehicles are experiencing premature failure. Warranty will cover but failures are continuing to happen. Many owners have replaced the axles multiple times, prior to getting to even 65k miles.
The whole car shut down while i was driving. I lost all power to the car and couldnt get it started again.
Both front cv axles failed at 55,000 miles causing shake while accelerating
Front CV axles causing Intense vibration through out front suspension/drivetrain
I was driving on the freeway driving eastbound on 152 and I switch to the fast lane to pass a vehicle and the throttle stopped working, the truck lost speed and the truck turned off, a message popped on the screen saying that I needed to put it in park. I put it in park put the hazards on and attempt to restart it and it would crank but wouldn’t start. I did this until the allowed amount of times reached its limit. I attempted to put the gear in neutral but the knob was stuck. The truck was at a slight angle as I was going uphill and couldn’t get it to move. I find the release lever to make it neutral and it didn’t work but now that lever got stuck all this is going on while the traffic is at is heaviest. The truck stalled until 2...
My vehicle sits at about 26k miles currently. I experienced extreme shaking coming from under the vehicle under acceleration. The issue happened while going up a hill with my whole family. I had to pull over to inspect the issue as it felt like a wheel was coming off. Upon visual inspection both CV Joints were leaking grease all over the undercarriage of my vehicle. A screeching grinding and clunking noise was heard as I continued to drive. This noise went away shortly after, however the shaking upon acceleration continued. It's important to note that I do not take my vehicle off road and is mostly driven on paved roads to and from work and has never been overloaded in anyway. After I took the vehicle to the Dealership, they confirmed that both half shafts were failing and were disintegrating. The passenger side bad enough that it had expelled most...
driving down I 90 at 65 mph, powertrain/ power malfunction light came on and power was reduced to 20 mph. Very dangerous . This happened at least 4 times until I was able to return home. shut truck off and would go until the warning light came back on. contacting dealer tomorrow
Had front half shafts replaced under warranty at 12k miles. Currently at 22k miles and experiencing the same vibration/shudder at about 50mph. Vehicle is available for inspection upon request. Failure of a half shaft could leave the vehicle stranded or could cause loss of control. Problem was already confirmed by dealership and half shafts were replaced. Problem is presenting itself again 10k miles later. Problem is well known with other owners. No warning lamps.
Transmission Failure. Following a 550 mile road trip over two days. The transmission would fail to engage in Drive and Reverse until the engine was throttled to 4000-4500RPM. Transmission felt like a Manual with failing clutch, would slip until slowly engaging after running at high RPMs for a few seconds. The condition appeared after the first day of the trip, and was intermittent, occurring only during standing starts. Once the vehicle was moving, there was no problem maintaining speed. Over the next two days the condition deteriorated to the point where it was occurring almost every time the vehicle was started and an attempt was made to start from a stand still. It began to become noticeable shifting from 1-2, 2-3, 3-4 as well, where it felt like the transmission was slipping during acceleration. There were no warning lamps or indications from the vehicle that there was a failure. This...
Driving down road at 45 mph as usual. Car suddenly shudders and as I pull to a stop car is stuck in neutral. Will not receive gas. Suddenly lurches into first gear, almost making me hit who is in front of me. I pull into center lane and the car is frozen and won't move. I restart the car and it stays stuck in first gear revving high. I limp it home given I'm a few minutes away. Could have caused a serious incident.
