2020 FORD F-350 Electrical System Problems

The connectors (part #1 HUZZ-14S411-HB) and (part #2 HUZZ-14S411-FA) are located in on the frame of the truck where the back wheels throw water towards when driving on wet terrain. They tend to hold water which causes electrical damage. This is happening on multiple ford trucks from 2020 - current models. This is causing tail light, AC, radio and other failures to occur.

Computer-dash info screens and drive modes. I am unable to change or check onboard dash info upon starting vehicle. Dash does not hold settings one day to the next. Unable to get into or change settings such as trailer settings-so can’t change braking effort-dangerous when hauling 20,000# trailer! Cannot put truck in tow mode or any other mode-defaults to slippery road mode. Again dangerous. Says hill start assist, hill descent assist and pre-collision assist is unavailable . This is all very potentially dangerous especially when hauling! Dealer cannot find problem. After truck is driven a while settings can be re-entered-truck has to be turned off first. Unable to load video of start up.

The contact stated that the manufacturer exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The contact stated that the vehicle failed to start intermittently and required several attempts before the vehicle started. The contact stated that while driving approximately 45 MPH, the vehicle lost power and coasted to the side of the road. The vehicle was restarted after several attempts. The vehicle was taken to the dealer and was diagnosed with fuel pump failure. The contact was informed that the fuel pump needed to be replaced; however, the repair was not covered under the recall. The contact owns a 2020 Ford F-350. The contact stated that Ford Pass failed to connect and communicate with the system. The telematics control unit (TCU) B157D 89 was inoperable. The information screen was blank. The contact stated that the failure was related to SSM 49292 and Customer Satisfaction Program 24B47. The local dealer was not contacted. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was contacted and referred the contact to the NHTSA Hotline. The failure mileage was approximately 170,000.

WHEN REVIEWING ANY RECALLS ON MY TRUCK, THIS YAW SYSTEM SENSOR REQUIRED TO MAKE THE PRO TRAILER ASSIST WORK THAT IS ESSENTIAL FOR TOWING 5TH WHEEL AND GOOSENECK TRAILERS WAS NOT INCLUDED WITH THE TRUCK. FORD HAS NOT BEEN SUPPLYING THIS ITEM. THE OWNERS MANUAL SPECIFICALLY REQUIRES THIS ITEM FOR OPERATION. I KNOW THIS MEMO IS OUT THERE BUT IS NOT BEING APPLIED TO THE PROPER VEHICLES. MY DEALER IS WORKING ON THIS, BUT WAS ONLY AWARE OF THE PROBLEM AFTER THE MEMO WAS FOUND AND I DISTRIBUTED IT.
