I STARTED TO HEAR A TICKING NOISE IN MY TRUCK. SO I T HAD IT LOOKED AT BY MY MECHANIC. HE COULD NOT TELL WHERE THE NOISE WAS COMING FROM. SO ABOUT A WEEK LATER I WAS GETTING READY TO GO TO WORK, I STARTED UP MY TRUCK AND A LOUD POP!!! AND BLACK SMOKE FROM UNDERNEATH MY HOOD. I SHUT THE TRUCK DOWN AND POP THE HOOD AND THAT'S WHEN I SAW THE MANGLED COIL PACK. SO THERE I WAS [XXX] OUT OF A DAY OF WORK CAUSE I HAD TO FIX THIS PROBLEM, WHICH TOOK ME ALL DAY TO FIX. OFF TO PEPBOYS I WENT TO BUY ANOTHER COILPACK AS WELL AS ALL 8 SPARK PLUGS. MIGHT ASWELL RIGHT? SO $120.00 LATER THE PROBLEM WAS FIXED UNTIL NOW!!! HERE WE GO AGAIN..... SAME FREAKIN NOISE AND ITS GETTING LOUDER. SINCE I CAN'T TELL WHICH SPARKPLUG IT IS I...
I WAS DRIVING MY 2003 FORD F-250 WHEN A SPARK PLUG BLEW OUT OF THE CYLINDER HEAD BREAKING THE COIL, AND CAUSING THE TRUCK TO RUN ON 7 CYLINDERS. MY TRUCK HAS ONLY 72340 MILES ON IT AND THOSE ARE THE ORIGINAL SPARK PLUGS FROM THE FACTORY.
TRAVELING AT 52MPH SPARK PLUG BLEW OUT. 2003 FORD F250 5.4L. *TR
I HAVE A 2003 FORD F250 WITH THE 5.4L ENGINE WITH ABOUT 80,000 MILES. I PURCHASED THE TRUCK NEW. THE NUMBER 3 OEM SPARK PLUG BACKED OUT AND BLEW OUT OF THE HEAD. I CONTACTED FORD, THEY RECOMMENDED I COVER ALL EXPENSES AND HAVE IT TOWED AND REPAIRED AT FORD DEALERSHIP. I PAID A LOCAL MECHANIC TO REPAIR IT. HE IS UNSURE WHAT WILL HAPPEN IN THE FUTURE. HE SAID IT COULD BE DANGEROUS AND MIGHT CAUSE A FIRE IF IT HAPPENS AGAIN. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2003 FORD F250 SUPER DUTY. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 35 MPH, THE VEHICLE BEGAN TO MAKING A HISSING NOISE. THE CONTACT PULLED THE VEHICLE OVER TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND THE HISSING STOPPED. HE LOOKED UNDER THE HOOD, RESTARTED THE VEHICLE, AND NOTICED THAT THE NUMBER 4 SPARK PLUG BLEW OUT OF THE ENGINE HEAD WITH A FAILED COIL. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER AND THEY STATED THAT A NEW ENGINE WAS NEEDED. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 102,300 AND FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 101,999.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2003 FORD F250 SUPER DUTY TRUCK. WHILE DRIVING 55 MPH THE SPARK PLUGS FELL OUT OF THE ENGINE. THE CONTACT DROVE TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 55,238. THE DEALER STATED THAT THE FAILURE WAS DUE TO THE SPARK PLUGS BEING LOOSE. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 60,000. *AK
DT*: THE CONTACT STATED WHILE DRIVING 70 MPH ON THE FREEWAY, THE CONTACT HEARD A LOUD POPPING NOISE. UPON INSPECTION OF THE ENGINE, THE SPARK PLUG WAS LYING ON THE INTAKE MANIFOLD. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A LOCAL DEALERSHIP.
DT: A SHIFT CABLE BROKE ON JUNE 5, 2005. CONTACTED THE DEALER, THEY FIXED IT. HAD SEVERAL ISSUES WITH THE TRUCK BUT THIS ONE WAS THE BAD ONE. THE DEALER GAVE NO IDICATION WHY IT BROKE. ALSO, THEY HAD TO PULL OUT THE MOTOR BECAUSE OF AN OIL LEAK. TOOK THE VEHICLE TO DEALER AGAIN BECAUSE AN EMERGCEY LIGHT CAME ON. SPOKE WITH THE SERVICE MANAGER ALL HE COULD SAY WAS THAT IT HAPPENED TO A COUPLE OF THEM. *AK

THE TRUCK STALLS WITHOUT WARNING WHILE DRIVING. WHEN THIS OCCUR, THE TRUCK LOSES ALL POWER, INCLUDING BRAKES AND STEERING. THIS HAS RESULTED IN TWO ACCIDENTS. IN ONE OF THE ACCIDENTS, THE TRUCK WENT INTO A DITCH AND THE AIR BAGS FAILED TO DEPLOY UPON IMPACT. THE OCCUPANTS SUSTAINED MINOR INJURIES. THE DEALERSHIP PERFORMED A DIAGNOSTIC TEST, BUT NO FAILURE CODE WAS FOUND. THE MANUFACTURE IS PROVIDING NO ASSISTANCE IN THIS MATTER. *PH
WHEN THE CONSUMER FIRST STARTS THE VEHICLE, DURING THE FIRST FEW MILES THE VEHICLE IS VERY SLUGGISH. THE VEHICLE HAD SEVERAL NEAR MISSES DUE TO THIS SLUGGISHNESS. THIS HAS HAPPENED ON MANY OCCASIONS WHILE DRIVING AT ANY SPEED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER, WHO INFORMED THE CONSUMER THAT THE SLUGGISHNESS WAS NORMAL. THE MANUFACTURER IS AWARE OF THE PROBLEM. *PH
WHEN TURNING IN EITHER DIRECTION VEHICLE STALLED WITHOUT WARNING. THE CAUSE OF THE PROBLEM HAS NOT BEEN DETERMINED. *AK

SERIOS CONCERNS ABOUT LOSING POWER BAKES AND POWER STEERING WITH ENGINE DYING.DEALER HAS CHANGED ICP SENSOR TWICE IN A 300 MILE SPAN.HAVE READ ABOUT THIS BEEING A WIDESPREAD PROBLEM WITH THE NEW 6.0 POWERSTROKE ENGINE.*AK
