Rotted and bent frame realized after purchase on February 22 at nj car and driver (Cadillacs Plus) for $3500.00 Continues to stall and feels like it’s going to crack in two. Stalled a few times while driving and had to put it in neutral to start back up
The contact owns a 2006 Ford F-150. The contact stated that the vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic to replace the starter, the mechanic observed corrosion on the frame near both rear doors. Additionally, the mechanic noticed that the sub frame was bent near the rear doors. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 124,000.
The contact owns a 2006 Ford F-150. The contact stated while driving 55 MPH, she heard an abnormal sound coming from the truck bed. The contact became aware that the front of the truck bed was tilted downwards and that both sides of the bed nearby the leaf springs were rusted. The dealer was not contacted. The manufacturer was contacted and informed the contact that there were no recalls related to the failure. The failure mileage was 140,000.
THE VEHICLE THAT IS TALKED ABOUT IN THIS IS A 2006 FORD F-150 THAT RECENTLY WENT IN FOR AN ANNUAL NYS SAFETY INSPECTION AND FAILED DUE TO AN EXCESSIVELY RUSTED FRAME THAT RESULTED IN CRACKS ON BOTH FRAME RAILS. THIS TRUCK HAS ONLY ~50,000 MILES AND IT IS UNKNOWN HOW LONG THE FRAME HAS ACTUALLY BEEN CRACKED AND STILL DRIVEN.
My truck was sounding like it was going to fall apart, I brought it to my sons attention and u can see the truck sagging between front and bed of truck. HAVE A NICE FORD F250 2006 TRUCK WHICK OUR MECHANIC TELLS US TGE FRAME US BROKEN DUE TO EXCESSIVE RUSTING, THE TRUCK HAS NEVER BEEN IN A FLOOD, NEVER BEEN USED UP NORTH IN EXCESSIVE SNOW AND SALT. THE TRUCK HAS 90,000 MILES AND NIW IS JUST JUNK. IN TESEARCHING THIS, FORD SHOULD ISSUE A RECALL ON THIS MODEL, SO NANY PEOPLE HAVE EXPERIENCED THIS SAME PROBLEM WITH THIS MODEL AND YEAR, IT IS TIME FORD STEPS UP AND TAKES RESPONSIBILITY FOR THIS ISSUE, WHICH BASICALLY CAUSES THE TRUCK TO BE IN DRIVABLE DUE TO SAFETY, AND CAUSES IT TO ACTUALLY JUST VE A VERY EXPENSIVE TRUCK FOR THE JUNK YARD! THERE NEEDS TO BE A RECALL. WHAT KIND OF RECOURSE DO WE AS OWNERS HAVE??? PLEASE HELP
I BROUGHT MY 2006 F150 IN FOR SERVICE THE OTHER DAY, AND MY MECHANIC POINTED OUT A RUST HOLE ON MY FRAME THAT SHOWED UP. AFTER I SCRAPED SOME OF THE SURFACE RUST OFF, I FOUND THAT A LARGE PORTION OF MY DRIVERS SIDE FRAME RAIL HAD SIGNIFICANT ROT SPREADING. MY TRUCK HAD JUST BARELY ABOVE 90,000 MILES ON IT, WITH NO OTHER RUST ON ANY OF THE BODY PANELS. I DRIVE A COMPANY VEHICLE DURING THE WEEK, AND MY TRUCK BARELY GETS DRIVEN ALL YEAR. IT SEEMS AS THOUGH THE FRAMES ON THESE MID 2000'S F150'S ARE VERY PRONE TO ROT DUE TO THE LACK OF WEEP HOLES IN THE BOTTOM OF THE FRAME. CORROSIVE ELEMENTS GET INSIDE, THEN HAVE NO WAY OUT OF THE FRAMES INTERIOR. WITH THIS POORLY DESIGNED DETAIL ON THE FRAME, CONSUMERS ARE LEFT WITH NEXT TO NO CHOICE BUT ANXIOUSLY WAIT FOR THE PREMATURE...
WE BOUGHT OUR 2006 F150 IN 2015, THINKING WE'D HAVE IT FOR YEARS TO COME. BY 2017, TWO SEPARATE MECHANICS HAD TOLD US THAT THERE WAS 'CATASTROPHIC CORROSION' TO THE FRAME. BOTH RECOMMENDED THAT WE HAVE A NEW FRAME FABRICATED. ONE OF THEM FOUND OUT THAT EARLIER F150S WERE RECALLED BECAUSE OF A BAD FRAME COATING THAT CAUSED IRREPARABLE RUST. HE BELIEVES THE '06 SHOULD BE INCLUDED AS WELL. THIS CAR WAS ALWAYS GARAGE KEPT TILL WE GOT IT, AND HAD NEVER BEEN FLOODED. THERE ARE NUMEROUS OTHER COMPLAINTS ABOUT THIS ISSUE, BUT FORD REFUSES TO ACT. WE ENDED UP WITH A $12000 YARD ORNAMENT, AND CAN'T EVEN SELL IT BECAUSE NO ONE ELSE WANTS TO DEAL WITH REFABRICATING THE FRAME. WE WERE TOLD NOT TO DRIVE THE TRUCK, AS THE FRAME COULD BASICALLY BUCKLE AT ANY TIME. RIDICULOUS THAT THIS HASN'T BEEN INVESTIGATED. I FEAR THE MORE TIME THAT...
FORDF150 TRUCK. BACK DOORS WILL NOT OPEN.
DOORS WILL NOT OPEN. THERE IS A DEFECT IN THE CORD THAT OPERATES THE DOOR OPENING AND CLOSING.
2006 F150 FRAME RUSTED THROUGH MAKING THE VEHICLE UNSAFE TO DRIVE AND WORTHLESS, THE VEHICLE WAS ALWAYS STORED INSIDE AND ONLY OTHER MINOR RUSTING HOWEVER THE FRAME HAS RUSTED THROUGH ON BOTH SIDES OF THE TRUCK WHERE THE CAB MEETS THE BED OF THE TRUCK.
'TAKATA RECALL' THE FRAME IS RUSTED REALLY BAD AND ALMOST RUSTED INTO. THE TRUCK BED IS RUSTED IN BOTTOM AND RUSTED ALL OVER. I BOUGHT THIS TRUCK THINKING FORD DIDN'T RUST LIKE THIS. PLEASE HELP ME. TRUCK IS TOO DANGEROUS TO DRIVE BUT I CAN'T AFFORD TO GET A NEW FRAME AND TRUCK BED.
THE FRAME IS RUSTED TO THE POINT THAT IT IS UNSAFE TO DRIVE. USING MY HAND TO GET LEVERAGE TO LOOK UNDER VEHICLE AS EXHAUST WAS DRIPPING WATER. THE FRAME CRUMPLED AND BROKE WITH THE FORCE OF MY HAND. I UNDERSTAND 2001-2004 VEHICLES WERE RECALLED FOR THE SAME REASON.
I WAS DRIVING DOWN THE INTERSTATE ON THE WAY TO WORK AROUND 8 PM. WHEN THE CAR IN FRONT OF MY SLAMMED ON THEIR BRAKES. I REACTED IN ACCORDANCE AND HIT MY BRAKES PRETTY HARD. WHEN I DID MY TRUCK PULLED TO THE LEFT AND TOOK ME INTO THE MEDIAN. WHEN I TRIED TO CORRECT MY VEHICLE THE BACK END STARTED SLIDING OUT AS I TRIED TO GET BACK ON THE ROAD. WHEN MY TRUCK FINALLY CAUGHT TRACTION IT SHOT ME TO THE OTHER SIDE OF THE ROAD WHERE IT DID THE SAME THING. SLIDING THE BACK END OUT. THIS TIME I WAS SLIDING PERPENDICULAR TO THE HIGHWAY AND WHEN MY TRUCK FOUND SOMETHING SOLID TO STOP THE SLIDE IT STARTED TO ROLL. DURING THE CRASH I WAS THROWN THROUGH THE WINDSHIELD AFTER THE FIRST ROLL AND KNOCKED UNCONSCIOUS. AFTER I WAS RELEASED FROM THE HOSPITAL I WENT TO COLLECT...

MY TRUCK CAUGHT ON FIRE YESTERDAY. DUE TO A HEAT SHIELD MISSING OVER PASSENGER SIDE CATALYTIC CONVERTER CAUSED THE PLASTIC GROMMETS THAT HOLD THE SOUND BARRIER MATERIAL ON THE FLOORBOARD TO DROP AND HANG ON TOP OF THE CATALYTIC CONVERTER UNTIL THE MATERIAL CAUGHT ON FIRE. MY INSURANCE COMPANY IS STILL INVESTIGATING HOW THE CATALYTIC CONVERTER HEAT SHIELD WAS MISSING. LESS THAN A MONTH AFTER I BOUGHT THE TRUCK AND IT WAS USED, THEY HAD TO DO SERVICE WORK ON IT BECAUSE I PURCHASED THE TRUCK WITH A BROKEN FRONT COIL SPRING AND THE TRANSMISSION DIPSTICK TUBE HAD ROTTED. EVEN THOUGH THE TRUCK WAS MISSING A HEAT SHIELD, I BELIEVE THERE SHOULD BE ANY KIND OF FLAMMABLE MATERIAL NEAR THE CATALYTIC CONVERTER JUST IN CASE A HEAT SHIELD HAPPENS TO ROT AND FALL OFF OR FOR ANY REASON THE HEAT SHIELD IS MISSING .THE FIRE TRAVELED THROUGH THE MATERIAL ALMOST...
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 FORD F-150. AFTER TAKING THE VEHICLE TO A DRIVE THRU CAR WASH SERVICE, WATER ENTERED THE PASSENGER SIDE. THE INTERIOR OF THE PASSENGER SIDE BECAME WET AND THE AIR BAG WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED INTERMITTENTLY. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 98,000.
POWER STEERING HOSE RUST AND LEAKING-TRANSMISSION HOSES RUSTED AND LEAKING - SPARK PLUG BREAKING OFF WHEN HAVING THEM REPLACED
GAS AND BRAKE PEDAL ARE TOO CLOSE TOGETHER. YOU COULD STILL BE GIVING IT GAS WHILE YOU ARE PUSHING ON THE BRAKES. I SEE HUNDREDS OF COMPLAINTS ABOUT THIS ONLINE.I WAS PULLING INTO A PARKING SPOT WHEN I THOUGHT I WAS APPLYING THE BRAKES THE OTHER HALF OF MY FOOT WAS ON THE GAS CAUSING ME TO JUMP THE CURB AND CRASH INTO A WALL. *TR
TRUCK WAS AT DEALERSHIP FOR REPAIRS, WHEN I WAS TOLD NOT TO HAVE REPAIRS DONE BECAUSE THE FRAME IS CRACKED AND RUSTED THRU. THEY SAID THE VEHICLE IS UNSAFE TO DRIVE. THE TRUCK IS NOW WORTHLESS. THE PASSENGER ASSIST HANDLE ATTACHED TO THE A PILLAR ON THE PASSENGER SIDE OF THE VEHICLE FAILED AT BOTH CONNECTION POINTS TO THE A PILLAR WHILE MY WIFE WAS ENTERING THE VEHICLE. MY WIFE WAS STANDING ON THE RUNNING BOARD AT THE TIME OF THE FAILURE OF THE ASSIST HANDLE, THE HANDLE COMPLETELY SEPARATED FROM THE VEHICLE AND SHE FELL OFF THE RUNNING BOARD WITH THE HANDLE IN HER HAND, LANDING ON HER BACK AGAINST A CURB IN THE PARKING LOT. THIS IS THE THIRD FAILURE OF THIS PART SINCE THIS VEHICLE WAS PURCHASED NEW ON 10/06/2006. THE FIRST FAILURE OCCURRED WITHIN THE FIRST 12 MONTHS OF OWNERSHIP. THE SECOND FAILURE HAPPENED WITHIN THE FIRST 36 MONTHS OF OWNERSHIP. AFTER EACH INCIDENT, FORD REPLACED THE DEFECTIVE PART WITH AN IDENTICAL PART. THE FIRST TWO INCIDENTS DID NOT RESULT IN INJURY TO MY PASSENGER. FORTUNATELY, MY WIFE WAS NOT SERIOUSLY INJURED...

THE FAILURE RECURRED AND THE ENTIRE PART THAT COVERED THE TAIL GATE WAS MISSING. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A REPAIR SHOP HOWEVER, THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED AND THE PART WAS STILL MISSING. PRIOR TO THE STALL THE TRUCK HAD BEEN KEPT IN A LOCATION WHERE IT WOULD BE IMPOSSIBLE FOR SOMEONE TO PUT WATER INTO THE TANK. WHEN I EXPLAINED THIS TO THE FORD DEALERSHIP MECHANIC, HE INDICATED THAT HE PERSONALLY HAD SEEN OTHER CASES WHERE WATER HAD MYSTERIOUSLY APPEARED IN A FORD F150 GAS TANK WHICH APPEARED TO BE ATTRIBUTABLE TO THE FACT THAT RAIN WATER LANDING INSIDE THE TRUCKS BOX DRIPS THROUGH THE SEAMS AND RIVETS OF THE BOX DIRECTLY ONTO THE FUEL PUMP PASSING INTO THE GAS TANK WHEN IT REMAINS PARKED FOR A SUBSTANTIAL PERIOD OF TIME. WHEN I GOOGLED "WATER IN THE FUEL TANK", I FIND THAT THE FIRST ITEM TO COME UP IS FORD F150 OWNERS DESCRIBING THE INEXPLICABLE DISCOVERY OF SUBSTANTIAL AMOUNTS OF WATER IN...
I WAS LOADING STUFF INTO THE BACK SEAT OF MY 2006 F-150. THE WIND CAUGHT THE FRONT DOOR AND IT SLAMMED SHUT. THE BOTTOM OF THE DOOR IS EXTREMELY SHARP AND STUCK INTO MY LEG. IT REQUIRED STAPLES BECAUSE IT WAS TO DEEP FOR STITCHES. UPON INSPECTION, THE DOOR IS NOT PUT TOGETHER PROPERLY AND THE EDGES ARE NOT SEALED. *TR
