Vehicle panoramic sunroof shattered imploded while driving for no visible external cause.

My Ford expeditions transmission is causing unsafe driving with rough sound and thunking noise. There is a C,D,F issue and valve separator parts that are the initial issue that can cause major issues for me and many others. A Ford technician advised me that TSBs exist and made me aware that my cost could be $199 (diagnostics), $1500 (parts), and $4400 or more (transmission repair or replacement). Why is this danger still be allowed with a well known issue. The problem started and appears to be getting worse. Why is Ford being held accountable for this lack of quality in their vehicles.
The vehicles jerks when shifting, pops out of gear while driving, takes a long time to find the next gear, is delayed when doing from R to D. Yesterday, 05/14/2025, I took a left turn and drove maybe .2 of a mile and the car jerked very hard and popped out of gear. The car slowed down to almost a complete stop before it finally found a gear and I could accelerate. My children and I were in the car, I was afraid it was going to stall out and we would be sitting in the middle of the road and get hit. The road we were on had no shoulder. This isn't the first time this has happened, but it was the most severe.
The “handless” rear hatch opening activates when not intended. This has caused a concussion to a driver while loading a vehicle. While this is not a “driving” system, it causes injuries to occupants immediately prior to driving. It is entirely possible that a driver could suffer a head injury without knowledge, then begin driving. This causes a dangerous driving environment. In particular the system is supposed to operate when the key is in a persons pocket and the foot is waived in the air by the hitch receiver area. The issues exists because it activates even if an object moves under the vehicle when key is in the correct proximity. This can even pin a driver down with the door over thier back while loading. I was on my way to my daughter's school. We got off the on ramp to her school and while waiting at the red stop light, my car stalled. The wheels locked. My brake pedal and gas pedal were not working when the stop light turned green. The car dashboard was showing the power to be on but nothing was working. After a minute, the battery light and the a light with the arrow that kind of circles around it started blinking. I put my hazards and waved people behind me to go around me. After a few minutes, my car started to go backwards on the on-ramp. I looked back and could feel and see my car going backwards toward the cars behind me. Unknown, it appears to be a Transmission issue the vehicle shifts hard, loses power while driving, and delayed acceleration.
There is a chrome decorative trim on the interior of the vehicle that surrounds the cup holders and storage areas. This chrome decorative trim is beginning to delaminate and had a razor-sharp edge. When reaching into the storage compartment that is also a phone charging station the delaminating chrome sliced my hand resulting in me requiring stiches from urgent care.
Driving down the road and my sunroof exploded. It sounded like a gunshot.
I arrived home, parked the car, exited the vehicle and walked to the back to retrieve my bag. I opened the hatch and when I reached in I had the feeling that the car slightly moved but I thought because of the falling snow it was an optical illusion, but then it really started to move... thankfully I was able to get to snow covered grass and not slip and fall behind my vehicle. it then proceeded to roll all the way down to the street. On about 4 to 5 occasions while driving on the highway, the car sort of stalls and a loss of control happens where everything feels locked up for a few seconds and a big thump is heard. It feels like the transmission has completely dropped out or that I have been hit but I have not been hit, it’s just the jerking motion I was feeling. It has happened both when excelerating to change lanes and also when promptly slowing to avoid someone coming into my lane. It is a really scary situation and when I looked it up, apparently has been documented on recent earlier models of the car but not in my newer 2021 year. I do not feel Ford is taking recall 22S36 seriously. In 2022 they began claiming that parts would be available late summer of 2022. I have scheduled and brought my vehicle in at least three times to have this recall performed only to arrive and they didn't have parts. So now for several months I've started calling to check on parts. The first response is always "We can do that recall" but then after asking about parts to make sure I'm told that parts aren't actually available and that they are on back order and expected in two weeks. Ford is providing no means to schedule this recall service by putting customers on a wait list, ordering parts specifically for a VIN, or otherwise setting parts a aside specifically for customers actively trying to get the repair done. I’ve been having issues from day one with shifting gears, the vehicle makes a loud “thunking” noise and practically stops my vehicle in the middle of the road
I was driving down the interstate in the morning going traveling out of town for a day trip going approximately 60 MPH. There was an opening in the "Fast" lane so I pushed on the accelerator as I was getting over and it felt as if when it was down shifting it could not find any gears. The vehicle slowed WAY down, thank goodness the person that I pulled out in front of was pay attention otherwise they would have rear-ended us. The exact same thing happened twice again later the same day as we were headed home.
My car has a very scary safety recall. The important notice that I received states that Ford Motor Company has authorized your dealer to provide you with vehicle pickup and delivery, a rental vehicle or other alternate transportation all for FREE. I live in a very large city and can't find one dealership that says they buy into this free service. Not even the dealership where I purchased the vehicle. I do not have transportation to drop my vehicle and need this free service that is offered. I have contacted FORD with no response or help in finding a dealership that complies with their offer.
Rented the vehicle from Action Car Rental in Orlando FL. on Nov 7, 2022. The following evening we noticed some drips coming from the reading light assembly on the roof between the driver and passenger seats (there is no sunroof). We contacted the facility and left messages - no return calls - we contacted the parent company NU Car Rental and did not get anyone on the phone after calling back multiple times. There was a hurricane/tropical storm approaching between 11/9 am-11/10 am and when I finally got ahold of someone during the storm shutdowns; I then notified them of the water intrusion. They said I can return the vehicle to the security guard after the storm passes but cannot guarantee they will have a replacement car for me and to rent elsewhere if I had to. The contact owns a 2021 Ford Expedition. The contact stated while driving 70 MPH, the vehicle decelerated without warning. The vehicle was taken to the dealer but no cause for the failure was found. The contact stated that the failure persisted. The manufacturer was contacted but offered no assistance. The contact was referred to the NHTSA Hotline for assistance to file a complaint. The failure mileage was 21,000.
Issues started after the under the hood fire recall. When driving the vehicle the car will shut down and throw all lights on the dash. This vehicle has been in the shop for repairs, but not fixed. This is a safety issue due to the fact the the vehicle will shut down while driving leaving you stranded when it happens.
We have a 2021 Platinum Expedition that we purchased new in January of 2022. Our vehicle has had electrical/computer issues from the time of purchase. The lane keep assist did not work until the vehicle was updated or reset. The windshield wiper sensor has been replaced twice but continues to not alert me when the fluid is getting low. I am alerted of low fluid the second I am completely out of windshield washer fluid. The tpms has been a problem from time of purchase. My tire pressure display is accurate but cannot alert me when the tire pressure is low. These issues are “fixed” at the dealerships but begin to fail once I have my car back. The infotainment screen is also glitchy and gets stuck from time to time. I have to turn the vehicle off a few times and then I can begin navigating again without disruption....

Additionally, while driving at various speeds, the vehicle experienced a sudden reduction of speed and would not properly accelerate while depressing the accelerator pedal. The cause of the failure was not determined. The local dealer was contacted regarding the failure. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 100.

I received notice through carfax of a recall due to fire hazard. Numerous attempts at getting more information through ford has resulted in little more than referral to a local dealer. The dealer has no loaners available at this time. I Am forced to park in my driveway surrounded by trees as there is no place near me to park that avoids other structures In a chat with ford today I was told a potential temporary solution was to disconnect the battery. When I called the local dealer again and requested a quick disconnect be installed they said they don’t /won’t do that. So I am back to square one.
