THE FRAME ON MY TRUCK IS RUSTING OUT FROM UNDERNEATH OF ITS SELF, WHICH IS LEADING TO CRACK IN SPOTS. THE DATE PROVIDED BELOW IS AN ABOUT DATE. I TOOK MY TRUCK IN FOR TIRE WORK AND ASKED THE GUYS IF HE COULD LOOK OVER MY TRUCK TO SEE IF THERE IS SOMETHING THAT I MIGHT HAVE MISSED, I DO IT QUARTERLY. THEY TOLD ME THAT MY FRAME WAS CRACKED AND ROTTING OUT FROM UNDERNEATH OF ITS SELF. I CAN'T FIND ANYONE THAT WILL FIX IT,
I HIT A BUMP GOING DOWN THE ROAD AT 65 MPH THE WHOLE FRONT END STARTED SHAKING SO BAD I COULDN'T SEE THE ROAD I FINALLY GOT IT TO STOP WHEN I GOT SLOWED DOWN TO 40 MPH I HAVE BEEN REPLACING FRONT END PARTS BUT NO LUCK WHAT IS GOING ON
MY DASH IS FALLING APART. I'M CONCERNED THAT IF THERE IS AN ACCIDENT THE BROKEN PIECES OF THE PLASTIC DASH WILL FLY AROUND PUTTING OUT AN EYE OR IMPALING SOMEONE. I FEEL THIS IS A REAL SAFETY ISSUE. SOMEONE SAID THAT IT IS COSMETIC, I DISAGREE. IF IT WERE ON THE OUT SIDE OF THE VEHICLE, I WOULD HAVE NO CONCERN. THE PROBLEM IS, IT'S INSIDE WHERE PEOPLE RIDE. IS IT GOING TO TAKE AN ACCIDENT WITH INJURIES FROM THE BROKEN DASH TO GET A CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT, SO BE IT. GENERAL MOTORS FOUND OUT ABOUT PROCRASTINATING ON KNOWN PROBLEMS.
A FEW YEARS AGO THE DASH STARTED CRACKING. THE DASH IS MADE OF A HARD PLASTIC ABOUT 1/4" THICK. THE CRACKS GENERALLY RUN FROM FRONT TO BACK NOT SIDEWAYS. I KEPT THINKING IF I WAS TO HAVE A CAR ACCIDENT THOSE CRACKS AND SHARDS OF THICK PLASTIC WOULD SEVERLY CUT ME UP. LAST SUMMER I DUCT TAPED ALL THE CRACKS. JUST RECENTLY I TOOK THE TRUCK IN FOR AIR BAG RECALL, NOW THE DASH IS IN WORSE SHAPE. THEY TOLD ME AT THE DEALER (LITHIUM DODGE OF BRYAN, TEXAS) THAT DOING THE RECALL MORE CRACKING WOULD OCCUR. THEY SAID MOST DODGE TRUCKS HAVE THIS CRACKING DASH PROBLEM. MY OTHER CARS AND TRUCKS WHICH ARE MUCH OLDER DONT HAVE THIS PROBLEM. I THINK DODGE SHOULD REPLACE THE DASH. I WOULD NOT HAVE DONE THE RECALL IF I HAD KNOWN THEY WOULD MAKE THE DASH CRACKING MUCH WORSE.
DEALER NOT ABLE TO RESPOND TIMELY TO IMPORTANT SAFETY RECALL. DRIVER AIRBAG INFLATOR HOUSING MAY RUPTURE DUE TO EXCESSIVE INTERNAL PRESSURE, DURING NORMAL AIRBAG DEPLOYMENT. THIS COULD RESULT IN METAL FRAGMENTS STRIKING AND POTENTIALLY SERIOUSLY INJURING THE VEHICLE OCCUPANTS
2004 DODGE RAM 2500 HAS AN UNKNOWN TRANSMISSION PROBLEM. SHIFTS OKAY FROM COLD START, BUT SPORADICALLY IT WILL NOT SHIFT INTO 2ND GEAR WHEN ENGINE IS WARM. ONCE THE ENGINE IS WARM, IF THE ENGINE IS TURNED OFF AND THEN IS RESTARTED (SUCH AS A STOP AT A STORE, GAS STATION, ETC.), IT GOES INTO FIRST GEAR OKAY, BUT THEN WINDS OUT AND WILL NOT SHIFT INTO 2ND GEAR. THE ONLY WAY TO GET IT TO SHIFT AGAIN IS TO TURN THE ENGINE OFF AND THEN RESTART IT. THEN IT WILL SHIFT CORRECTLY. THIS IS DANGEROUS BECAUSE MANY TIMES WHEN WE PULL OUT INTO TRAFFIC THERE IS NO PLACE TO SAFELY PULL TO OFF THE ROAD TO STOP THE ENGINE. WE HAVE HAD TO PRAY FOR RED LIGHTS SO WE COULD SHUT OFF THE ENGINE OFF FOR A MOMENT. WE HAVE HAD THE GOVERNOR PRESSURE SENSOR REPLACED TWICE AND HAVE...
DRIVING ON THE TURNPIKE AND HAD ACCELERATED TO SPEED BETWEEN 65 AND 70 MPH WHEN RIGHT FRONT TIRE WENT ACROSS SEAM IN CONCRETE ROADWAY. WAS NOT A BIG BUMP HAVE PASSED OVER IT SINCE AND BEFORE IN CAR AND NEVER FELT IT. SUDDENDLY TRUCK WENT INTO AN UNCONTROLLABLE "WOBBLE" VERY SEVERE WITH MY GEARSHIFT MOVING FROM SIDE TO SIDE AS IF GOING TO FLY OFF. I HAD TO BRAKE SUDDENLY ALMOST CAUSING A REAREND COLLISION AND I TOOK UP TWO LANES GETTING IT UNDER CONTROLL ALSO NEARLY HAVING A WRECK! THIS HAPPENS OFTEN AT SPEEDS NEAR THE SAME. I EITHER HAVE TO KEEP IT BELOW 50 BUT LATELY THE SPEED LEVEL IS BEGINNING TO DROP AND I CAN EXPERIENCE THE PROBLEM AT LOWER SPEEDS! IT IS DANGEROUS. I DARE NOT ALLOW MY WIFE TO DRIVE THE VEHICLE. ALSO HAVE A PROBLEM EVERY TIME IT RAINS I GET LEAKING FROM MY...
MY 2004 DODGE RAM 2500 HAS A VIOLENT SHAKE IN THE FRONT END WHEN TRAVELING AT SPEEDS OF 55MPH OR MORE WHEN HITTING A BUMP OR POTHOLE. WHEN THE VIOLENT SHAKING BEGINS, THE VEHICLE IS UNCONTROLLABLE UNTIL THE VEHICLE IS SLOWED DOWN CONSIDERABLY. I HAVE TAKEN THE VEHICLE TO TWO MECHANICS WHO HAVE NOT BEEN ABLE TO CORRECT THE PROBLEM. THEY HAVE CHANGED THE STEERING DAMPER AND THE SHOCKS, AND CHECKED THE WHOLE FRONT END. THEY COULD FIND NO PROBLEMS, AND IT IS STILL HAPPENING. ACCORDING TO RESEARCH ON THE INTERNET, MANY OTHER DODGE OWNERS ARE HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM AND HAVE BEEN FOR YEARS. DODGE NEEDS TO DO SOMETHING ABOUT THIS BEFORE SOMEONE GETS INJURED OR KILLED. MY DODGE 2500 SERIES TRUCK DOES NOT MEET THE STANDARDS IN THE 49 CFR 567.4 3) ``GROSS VEHICLE WEIGHT RATING'' OR ``GVWR,'' FOLLOWED BY THE APPROPRIATE VALUE IN POUNDS, WHICH SHALL NOT BE LESS THAN THE SUM OF THE . *AK UNLOADED VEHICLE WEIGHT, RATED CARGO LOAD, AND 150 POUNDS TIMES THE VEHICLE'S DESIGNATED SEATING CAPACITY. MY DODGE HAS AN EMPTY WEIGHT OF 6072 POUNDS WITH AN ADVERTISED PAYLOAD OF 2690 POUNDS AND SEATS SIX PASSENGERS. 6072 + 2690 + 900 = 9702 POUNDS. IF I LOADED MY VEHICLE TO IT'S CAPACITY, I WOULD BE 702 POUNDS OVER MY GVWR OF 9000 LBS. FURTHERMORE MY TRUCK ACTUALLY WEIGHS IN AT 7490 POUNDS WITH MY FAMILY OF FIVE AND A FULL TANK OF GAS. IF I WAS TO LOAD MY TRUCK TO THE PAYLOAD OF 2690 POUNDS, MY TRUCK WOULD WEIGH 10,180 POUNDS. THIS WOULD LEAD ME TO BE 1,180 POUNDS...
