The contact owns a 2008 Dodge Ram 1500. The contact stated that while driving at highway speeds, the vehicle was severely shaking and vibrating. The contact replaced the struts and tie rods; however, the failure persisted. The contact also stated that while driving at undisclosed speeds, the steering wheel felt extremely loose, and the vehicle was pulling to one side. The contact also experienced the "Death Wobble" on several occasions while driving. The cause of the failure was not yet determined, and the vehicle was not yet repaired. The local dealer and manufacturer were not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 222,700.
Front end suspension and steering problems, very loud rubbing sound and unstable feels like it might brake apart.
The cv axle on the passenger side has gone out 3 times in the last 6 months. That's not just coincidence. And there is no extreme driving conditions or unnecessary turning going on.
We purchased this vehichle and the steering wheel has a slit through it like its been deployed i would like to make sure it is safe also the side passenger seat the front seems like something is pocking you through the seat like it is not supposed to be there also the whole steering system seems off and not safe . I would like it to be noted and a recall should be made before injury to anyone.
On interstate whole hub assembly with tier flew off and it’s been very hard I just payed for car I worked for and lost it please help

AND IF THIS COMES APART I WILL LOSE ALL STEERING CAPABILITY ALSO HAVE 2"OFPLAY IN STEERING WHEEL CAUSING DIFFICULITY IN STEERING AND WEAVING I BELIEVE THIS PART SHOULD HAVE MUCH LONGER LIFE THAN THIS AND SOME SORT OF SECONDARY MECHANISM TO HOLD THIS TOGETHER BECAUSE IF IT COMES APART WHILE DRIVING IT WILL BE A DISASTER.IVE NEVER SEEN ANYTHING LIKE THIS IN ANY OTHER VEHICLE
AFTER FILLING UP WITH FUEL ON SERVAL DIFFERENT OCCASIONS THE TRUCK WILL SHUT OFF WITH NO WARNING LIGHTS OR SERVICE LIGHTS. THIS CAUSES THE POWER STEERING AND EVERYTHING TO STOP. WHEN AT A STOP SIGN IT CAN BE STARTED SAFELY FROM PARK OR NEUTRAL BUT WHEN MOVING IT HAS TO BE PUT IN NEUTRAL TO RE START BECAUSE THE BRAKE SYSTEM DOES NOT WORK GOOD EITHER. SHIFT LEVER BROKE OFF WHILE DRIVING OUT OF MY DRIVEWAY. AFTER BACKING OUT OF PARKING SPOT WENT TO PUT IN DRIVE, SHIFTER GOT SLOPPY AND NOTHING WOULD ENGAGE.
THE ENGINE STALLS AND CUTS OFF WITHOUT ANY WARNING. I'VE HAD IT AT 4 DIFFERENT AUTO REPAIR SHOPS INCLUDING 3 WEEKS AT LANDMARK DODGE AND NO ONE CAN DETERMINE WHAT IS GOING ON WITH IT. I'VE HAD THE FUEL PUMP REPLACED AND CYLINDERS REPLACED. IT'S CRAZY ANDD VERY FRUSTRATING THAT DODGE CAN'T FIX THEIR OWN PRODUCT.

WHILE DRIVING ON THE PARKWAY I SUDDENLY LOST CONTROL OF THE STEERING. THANKFULLY I WAS ABLE TO SAFELY MANEUVER THE TRUCK TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD, WITH THE HELP OF A GOOD SAMARITAN AND MY EVASIVE MANEUVER COURSE REQUIRED BY MY JOB, BEFORE ANYTHING TRAGIC HAPPENED. I HAD THE TRUCK TOWED TO THE DEALER WHERE THEY CONFIRMED MY SUSPICION OF A BROKEN TIE ROD, SPECIFICALLY THE LEFT TIE ROD WHICH HAS BEEN RECALLED ON EVERY 2008 RAM EXCEPT MY 1500. I FIND THIS VERY SUSPECT THAT ALL THE OTHER RAMS HAVE BEEN RECALLED AND FIXED EXCEPT MY MODEL, YET I HAD TO PAY FOR THE REPAIR. I AM GRATEFUL THAT I DID NOT GET HURT, OR CAUSE AN ACCIDENT AND INJURE ANYONE ELSE, HOWEVER THIS ISSUE NEEDS TO BE LOOKED IN FURTHER BY THE GOVERNMENT. WHILE PULLING MY RV TRAILER, I NOTICED A GROWLING NOISE AND VIBRATION COMING FROM THE FRONT OF MY TRUCK. THE CLOSER I GOT TO HOME THE NOISE GOT LOUDER. TOOK TO MY MECHANIC AND HE HAD TO REPLACE LEFT FRONT WHEEL BEARING HUB, STEERING KNUCKLE AND ALIGNMENT. IT FIXED THE PROBLEMS. ONLY 45594 MILES. COST $800.00. IS THIS A RECALL FOR THIS VEHICLE? ALL 4 O2 SENSORS FAILED AT 5 YEARS OLD BUT DEALER FAILED TO DIAGNOSE THIS CORRECTLY WHILE THE TRUCK WAS STILL UNDER WARRANTY AND WE HAD TO REPLACE THESE AND THE PCM, WHICH BURNT OUT BECAUSE OF THE DEFECTIVE O2 SENSORS, AFTER THE TRUCK WAS NOT UNDER WARRANTY ANY MORE. THE AIRBAGS ARE DEFECTIVE AND CHRYSLER DOES NOT HAVE THE PARTS TO FIX IT AND WE CAN'T SELL THE VEHICLE AS IT IS. CHRYSLER STATES IT IS NOT PART OF THE BUYBACK AND NOW WE ARE STUCK WITH AN UNSAFE VEHICLE THAT WE CAN'T SELL.

WHEN OPERATING THE VEHICLE WHETHER UNDER A LOAD OR NOT, USING SUSTAINED HIGHER RPM'S THE STEERING WHEEL WILL FREEZE UP AND THERE IS ABSOLUTELY NO STEERING AVAILABLE. THIS HAS HAPPENED IN THE MUD PULLING A TRAILER, IN SNOW NAVIGATING A LITTLE HILL AND NOW ON THE INTERSTATE ENTRANCE RAMP! TWICE JUST CHANGING LANES GOING AROUND 30 MPH! THE TWO LITTLE TIMES I KNEW TO LOWER THE RPM'S VERY QUICKLY AND OBSERVED A LOUD POP NOISE WHEN THE STEERING WHEEL LET LOOSE. ON THE ENTRANCE RAMP TO THE INTERSTATE I CAME SO CLOSE TO A CONCRETE WALL BEFORE THE STEERING CAME BACK. I TOOK IT IN TO THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY KEPT IT FOR 3 DAYS. I TOOK THE TRUCK INTO THE DEALER (ROYAL DODGE OWEGO, NY) FOR EVALUATION IN THE SUMMER OF 2011 AND WAS TOLD THE LEFT TIE ROD END WAS DEFECTIVE AND THE TRUCK WAS OUT OF WARRANTY. I OBTAINED A QUOTE OF APPROXIMATELY $200 TO REPLACE THE LEFT FRONT TIE ROD END AND DO AN ALIGNMENT. I ENDED UP REPLACING THE TIE ROD END MYSELF ($50) AND HAVING THE TRUCK LINED UP ($80) AT MOORE'S TIRE SALES IN OWEGO, NY. UPON EVALUATION OF THE DEFECTIVE TIE ROD, I NOTICED THERE WASN'T ANY GREASE FROM THE FACTORY ON THE TIE ROD BALL ONCE I CUT THE BOOT OPEN. I ALSO ENDED UP HAVING TO REPLACE THE TIRES DUE TO THE UNEVEN TIRE WEAR. I AM AWARE...
I'VE BEEN A DODGE TRUCK ON HER FOR YEARS WHEN I WANT ANOTHER VEHICLE BUT I HAVE CONCERNS REFERENCE MY 2008 DODGE WITH THE STEERING PROBLEM I DRIVE THE INTERSTATE EVERY DAY I DON'T FEEL SAFE SO WHAT DOOR NEED TO DO THE TRUCK IS PARKED RIGHT NOW
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 DODGE RAM 1500. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 60 MPH, THE STEERING WHEEL FAILED TO TURN. THE CONTACT HAD TO DRIVE THE VEHICLE SLOWER BECAUSE THE STEERING WHEEL FAILED TO RESPOND ON MULTIPLE OCCASIONS. THE CONTACT ALSO NOTICED WHEN THE BRAKES WERE DEPRESSED, THE REAR SUSPENSION SEEMED LOOSE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR ALIGNMENT. THE TECHNICIAN DIAGNOSED THAT THE SUSPENSION WAS LOOSE, THE STEERING NEEDED TO BE ALIGNED AND THE REAR SHOCKS WERE LEAKING. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURES. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 49,000.
EXPERIENCING EARLY FAILURE OF DRIVERS SIDE AND PASSENGER SIDE TIE RODS. (DRIVERS SIDE IS WORSE) WAS INFORMED AT APPROX. 48,000 MILES THEY NEEDED TO BE REPLACED VERY SOON. AFTER SOME RESEARCH ONLINE FOUND THIS IS A KNOWN ISSUE WITH THIS MAKE AND MODEL AND NO RECALL HAS BEEN ISSUED. I BELIEVE THESE SHOULD HAVE BEEN INCLUDED IN THE BUY OUT RECENTLY ANNOUNCED.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 DODGE RAM 1500. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 35 MPH, THE VEHICLE AND STEERING WHEEL VIBRATED CONTINUOUSLY WITHOUT WARNING. THE FAILURE RECURRED NUMEROUS TIMES. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC, WHO WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE PASSENGER SIDE TIE ROD NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 120,000.
HAD NEW TIRES AND BALL JOINT REPLACED AND TRUCK LINED UP 3 TIMES AND STILL SHAKES IN FRONT END. TURN STEERING WHEEL ALL WAY LEFT AND FRONT END SKIPS ON PAVEMENT.
WHILE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY MY STEERING WHEEL BECAME WAY OFF CENTER. I JUST FIGURED I HIT A POT HOLE AND NEEDED AN ALIGNMENT. WHEN I GOT HOME I REMOVED THE FRONT TIRES AND NOTICED THAT THE PASSENGER SIDE WHEEL BEARING HAD SEPARATED AND ALMOST TOTALLY CAME APART. I CALLED MY LOCAL DEALERSHIP AND THEY STATED THAT THERE WAS NO RECALL FOR THIS ON MY VEHICLE. I PURCHASED BOTH FRONT HUB BEARING ASSEMBLIES AND REPLACED THEM MY SELF.
I HAD GOTTEN NEW TIRES ON MY TRUCK AND AN ALIGNMENT DONE ON THE TRUCK AND WAS TOLD MY POWER ASSIST RACK AND PINION WAS FAILING AND WOULD HAVE TO BE REPLACED. AFTER DOING RESEARCH ONLINE ABOUT THE ISSUE I HAVE FOUND THAT THERE AREALLY VERY MANY PEOPLE WITH THE SAME PROBLEM WITH THE MOPAR PART FAILING WHILE DRIVING OR BEING TOLD THEY NEED TO REPLACE IT. WITH SO MA YOU COMPLAINTS ABOUT IT ON THE 2008 MODELS ALONE, THEY NEED TO LOOK INTO THE ISSUE AS IT CAN CAUSE A SERIOUS ACCIDENT OR THE DEATH OF A PERSON. SEVERAL HAVE COMPLAINED THAT THIS PART HAS FAILED AT MILEAGES DOWN TO 45,000 MILES. IT SOUNDS LIKE THIS MAY BE A FAULTY PART.
AFTER FILLING WITH GAS, TRUCK STALLS AT HIGH AND LOW SPEEDS....VEHICLE DIES HENCE NO POWER STEERING, BRAKES ETC.......HAS HAPPENED MULTIPLE TIMES..... CAN THROW INTO NEUTRAL AND IGNITION FUNCTIONS....SUPER DANGEROUS AT ANY SPEED.
I JUST PURCHASED THIS VEHICLE AND WITHIN A WEEK THE KEY WOULDN'T GO INTO THE IGNITION AND ONCE IN WOULDN'T COME BACK OUT. THE VEHICLE SHUTS OFF RANDOMLY LOCKING THE POWER STEERING AND BRAKES. MY RIGHT TURN SIGNAL NOW DOESN'T GO OFF AND WHEN I TRY TO PUT IT OFF MY SELF THE LEFT TURN SIGNAL ACTIVATES! THIS WENT ON BACK AND FORTH A GOOD EIGHT TIMES BEFORE BOTH SHUT OFF. MY FRONT HEADLIGHTS (MOSTLY RIGHT BUT CANNOT REALLY SEE THE LEFT WHILE DRIVING) THE LIGHTS SHAKES AND BOUNCES WHEN I GO OVER ANYTHING UNEVEN. UPON COMING TO A SUDDEN STOP THE TRUCK PULLED HARD TO THE RIGHT CAUSING ME TO SWERVE INTO THE GRASS. THIS VEHICLE JUST DOESN'T DRIVE RIGHT. THE WHOLE FRONT END SEEMS LOOSE. I CANNOT DRIVE OVER 50 OR THE REAR END COMES OFF THE GROUND WHEN I BRAKE TO MAKE MY TURN. I'M TAKING IT...
