TAKATA RECALL THIS TRUCKS FRAME JUST BROKE. IT'S A CLEAN BREAK AND LOOKS TO BE RIGHT ON A WELD. THE TRUCK WAS IN MOTION I THOUGHT I HIT A BIG BUMP. IT ALSO RUPTURED THE GAS TANK. WE CALLED CHRYSLER COOPERATION AND THEY SAID TO HAVE A LOCAL DEALER LOOK AT IT. THEY DID AND TOLD US IT WASN'T UNDER WARRANTY, WHICH WE ALREADY KNEW. I WAS SHOCKED THEY DIDN'T WANT TO HELP AND CONSIDER RECALLING THE OTHER TRUCKS FROM THE TIME AND PLACE THIS ONE WAS MADE TO CHECK THEIR FRAMES. I TRIED TO SEND PICTURES BUT IT WON'T LET ME ON HERE THIS IS MY SECOND ATTEMPT. I FEEL STRONGLY THAT THIS IS A MAJOR ISSUE THAT SOMEONE FROM THE HIGHWAY SAFETY DEPARTMENT SHOULD AT LEAST LOOK AT. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2001 DODGE DAKOTA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT UPON INSPECTING THE VEHICLE, RUST WAS DISCOVERED ON THE FRAME. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 125,000.

WATER HAS LEAKED INTO THE VEHICLE DRIVER AND PASSENGER SIDE FLOORS ON 5 SEPARATE OCCASIONS. THE VEHICLE HAS BEEN SERVICED FOR THE WATER LEAKS ON 29 AUG. 01 AND 10 OCT. 01; HOWEVER, ON 7 DEC. 01, THE WATER LEAKED AGAIN CAUSING THE VEHICLES ENTIRE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM TO FAIL WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS IN MOTION. THIS DEFECT CREATES A POSSIBLE DANGEROUS HAZARD. PROVIDED THE VEHICLE IS TRAVELING AT SPEEDS OF 65MPH ON A HIGHWAY WITH PRECIPITATION, THE LOSS OF HEADLIGHTS AND HAZARD LIGHTS COULD RESULT IN A VEHICLE CRASH OR ROAD HAZARD. COULD I PLEASE BE NOTIFIED IF THERE ARE ANY OTHER SIMILAR COMPLAINTS OR CONCERNS ON THIS.
