THE CONSUMER DISCOVERED CHRYSLER HAD RECALLED APPROXIMATELY 21,000 VEHICLES OF THE 2007 MODEL YEAR THAT HAD TRANSMISSION PROBLEMS. HOWEVER, WHEN HER DAUGHTER TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER FOR REPAIR, SHE WAS INFORMED THE VEHICLE IDENTIFICATION NUMBER WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL.

AFTER HAVING OUR CAR TOWED, THE DODGE TECHNICIAN EXPLAINED THAT THIS PART IS NOT COVERED UNDER OUR WARRANTY AND WOULD COST $323 WITH PARTS & LABOR. THEY WANT TO CHARGE THE CONSUMER TO FIX THE PROBLEM ALTHOUGH IT IS WELL KNOWN THAT IT IS A MANUFACTURING PROBLEM. (ITS A CHEAP PLASTIC PINK RELEASE BUTTON THAT GOES OUT AT ANY GIVEN TIME CAUSING THE CAR TO BE STUCK IN PARK) THIS IS NOT THE CONSUMER'S PROBLEM THIS NEEDS TO BE RECALLED INSTEAD I WAS TOLD SINCE I WAS THE SECOND OWNER OF THE CAR THERE IS NOTHING THEY CAN REALLY DO. SHIFTER STUCK IN PARK. CAR DROVE FINE, PARKED IT AT NIGHT, THE NEXT MORNING THE CAR WOULD NOT MOVE OUT OF PARK. RESEARCHED THE PROBLEM ONLINE, FOUND A FIX (TO PREVENT CALLING A TOW), AND DROVE THE CHARGER TO THE DEALER. I EXPECTED THIS TO BE COVERED UNDER A RECALL (#08V583000). BUT IT WAS NOT, CALLED CHRYSLER AND THEY STATED THAT MY VEHICLE WAS NOT COVERED. HOW MANY TIMES DOES THIS HAVE TO HAPPEN BEFORE THE MANUFACTURER WILL DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT? ADMIT TO THE PROBLEM, PAY FOR THE REPAIR, AND CONSUMERS WOULD BE SATISFIED. VERY DISPLEASED WITH CHRYSLER/DODGE. OTHER PROBLEMS MANUFACTURER WILL NOT PAY FOR, ROTOR/BRAKE PADS WEARING PREMATURELY/LOUD SQUEAL, DRIVERS WINDOW LEAVES STARCH MARKS ON GLASS, ABS LIGHT ON, ENGINE SPUTTERS. *TR

DRIVING MY 2007 DODGE CHARGER. NO WARNING LIGHTS, CAR STALLED IN BUSY INTERSECTION. CAR TOWED. I DROVE MY CAR TO THE END OF MY ROAD TO PICK MY KIDS UP FROM THE BUS STOP. ONCE I PUT THE CAR IN PARK TO ALLOW THE KIDS TO GET IN IT WOULD NOT SHIFT OUT OF PARK. I CALLED A TOW TRUCK AND WHEN HE ARRIVED HE REMOVED THE PLASTIC CONSOLE AND SHOWED ME THAT BY PRESSING A HOT PINK LEVER MY CAR WOULD ENGAGE. HE WAS CORRECT AND I DROVE MY CAR HOME. I CONTACTED THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY INFORMED ME THAT IT WOULD COST AROUND $350 TO HAVE FIXED SINCE MY WARRANTY RAN OUT LESS THAN ONE MONTH AGO. I DO NOT FEEL THAT I SHOULD HAVE TO PAY THAT AFTER READING THE NUMEROUS COMPLAINTS LISTED ON HERE. THIS IS OBVIOUSLY SHODDY MANUFACTURING AND SHOULD BE RECALLED. *TR
PINK PLASTIC TAB IN THE SHIFTER ASSEMBLY ON 2007 DODGE CHARGER RT (17,000 MILES) BROKE, RESULTING IN VEHICLE BEING UNABLE TO SHIFT FROM PARK. I OWN A 2007 DODGE CHARGER. BIGGEST PIECE OF JUNK EVER IN MY DRIVE WAY. I WAS EXCITED WHEN THE CHALLENGER CAME OUT, MY DAUGHTER WOULD GET THE CHARGER AND MOMMA WOULD GET THE NEW CHALLENGER. I CAN SAY, THAT WONT BE HAPPENING. IN THE THREE YEARS I'VE HAD THIS CAR, I HAVE HAD TO SPEND SEVERAL HUNDRED DOLLARS TO HAVE THE TRANSMISSION FIXED FROM LEAKING FLUID. 07 DODGE CHARGER, WITH AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION, AND CONSOLE SHIFTER. THE PLASTIC PIECE HOLDING THE PARK GEAR RELEASE SPRING BREAKS OFF AND THE VEHICLE CAN THEN NOT BE SHIFTED INTO GEAR. THIS IS AN OBVIOUS ENGINEERING FLAW THAT CHRYSLER AND IT'S DEALERSHIPS ARE WELL AWARE OF, AND CHOOSE NOT TO ADDRESS AS A WARRANTY OR RECALL ISSUE. SHE TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER AND THEY IDENTIFIED FIVE ERROR CODES ASSOCIATED WITH THE TRANSMISSION. THE TECHNICIAN FURTHER STATED THAT THE TRANSMISSION WAS NOT COVERED UNDER THE WARRANTY; THEREFORE, THEY WOULD NOT ASSUME RESPONSIBILITY FOR ANY REPAIRS. THE VEHICLE HAS NOT BEEN REPAIRED.
