2006 DODGE CHARGER Fuelpropulsion System Problems

After filling the gas tank with gas.Car starts missing and engine will stall . If you stop at red light after filling up car will stall and the engine stops running. If you dot fill the car up to full it has no problem running it does as it should

My 2006 Dodge Charger stalls after refueling, and now stutters when driving as if not getting fuel. I have noticed when attempting to break and stopping at stops this is happening more often. The car shuts down and could cause a accident. After researching this issue I found that this has been addressed already under investigation number PE13-016 by the NHTSA.

I was almost rear-ended by a semi when the vehicle stalled at a light while picking my son up from work. It seems to stall at stop signs or waiting at lights completely. It stalls while idling here and there sometimes. Sometimes when driving on the e-way it jerks as it wants to stall but not completely. The main codes that pop up is u0100. Sometimes p0700 pops up and then sometimes the u0100 pops up along with a bunch of other codes. This has just started happening with my previous 2006 Dodge Charger 5.7 which has happened once or twice and a u0100 code pops up when scanned. I've scoured the internet for solutions and notice. There's a lot of people going through this similar situation and it so happens to be the 2006 year that's plagued with this problem. Even getting a new PCM doesn't solve the problem....

The issue is that after fueling up my car I will drive a little ways down the road and the car will shut off and I will need to steer out of the way of traffic and restart the car. This will happen several times after refueling. This appears to be a common problem with 2006 Dodge Chargers, Magnums, and Chrysler 300s. It appears that the issue is that fuel was observed entering the purge line prior to initial shut off of the fill nozzle. This causes fuel to escape from the fuel tank assembly into the evaporative system. The multi-function control valve’s refueling float stays stuck in an open position and is the cause of this issue. “Rich fuel” gets into the engine and the engine will shut down. when i refuel start out in highway car stalls almost results in getting rear ended i found dodge knew about this but i did not get recall i bought car new this just started bout 12 months ago car only has around 65000 miles on it .it happened today 3/20/24

When I fill my car with gasoline, it starts to putter and shuts off. I have replaced the fuel pump and fuel transfer unit over 4 times since I have owned this vehicle. I had the same issue with my Chrysler 300. It is very frustrating and cost full. I just dropped my car at the shop to be looked at again. I just had a fuel/transfer pump done less than a year ago

After filling up with gas my car stalled 3 times within 30 minutes. One time while making a turn and my power steering locked up almost making me crash, another time at a red light and also while idling in my driveway.

The fuel tank with this car have issues when filled up. This issue started about 3-4 years ago. The gas tank haven't been inspected but I've changed literally every component associated with the fueling system. I wish I would've done research before hand and would've just saved money and known that there are issues with the fuel tank. The car when filled up or sometimes just putting a little gas it will either sputter or shut off. No check engine light comes on or nothing. However after doing research I found out that my VIN isn't in the recall listing. This makes absolutely no sense for the investigation into a broader VIN listing to be closed with the amount of complaints these year model cars fuel tank.

Valve in the top of the tank to release vapor through the purge system is stuck open allowing fuel in the system, is available for inspection. Car stalls while driving and at stops, stalled infront of ambulance. Has not been reproduced of confirmed by dealer, but it has happened everytime i fully refuel the car. Has not been inspected. No symptoms or warnings prior to issue occurring.

After filling up with gas car shut off 1/2 mile causing loss of power steering. Restarted and did the same thing about 1/2 mile again

After filling up my gas tank I went to start driving again and my vehicle stalled out. It did this several more times.

On 3/10/2023 my vehicle suddenly starting trembling and shaking profusely! It terrified me severely. I immediately called my mechanic and it was towed in to be repaired. I was told it needed a tune- up. Towing, 3-Direct Ignition coils replaced, 6-spark plugs replaced and 1- fuel injection plenum gasket set replaced. Four weeks later on 4/16/2023 a warning sign of a backwards meeting parenthesis with a lightening bolt between to the two backwards parenthesis showed up on my warning lamp-Electronic Throttle Control (ETC) Indicator symbol; causing my vehicle on shake, jump and stall as I was driving on 29S heading toward 70W towards Baltimore to get home. I was able to drive to side of the road and my car completely stopped. A the horrific sounds of the traffic wizzed by me and my 12 year old child, I immediately called AAA, as we were in danger and severely terrified....

Every time I get gas, my Charger stalls at stops and while driving. Not good!!! I have had several close calls! I do not top off and I always use premium. Something has to be done this is not safe for anyone on the road.

Usually after I fill my car up with premium gas and start to drive it around it will stall out of nowhere especially when stopped or low idle.

Car will stall and not start after filling with gas. After awhile car will run but shut off randomly. This can happen while driving. Car has been stuck at intersections and will stall even doing highway speeds. All lights will appear on dash engine car will lose all power. Small ding before it dies.

After filling up the car with fuel (93 octane) the car stalls after a couple of minutes. This has caused unsafe situations as the car has stalled in the middle of intersections and on the road. This has happened consistently after filling up. The car does not start immediately after stalling. After a couple of minutes post stall, I am able to restart the car. At times, the car studders while moving. This all happens after topping off with fuel. The vehicle has approximately 106,000 miles.

My 2006 Dodge Charger has approximately 51,000 miles on it. Last fall when I filled it up with gas and left the station to go home, my car stalled 5 times on a very busy road just trying to go home. It always restarted. It now does the same thing every time I fill it up with gas. It will either stall once I leave the station (sometimes multiple times) or jerk back and forth when trying to drive it. So far it has always restarted, but I am very concerned about my safety if it happens to stall when driving or turning at an intersection and there is an accident because of it. I've owned this car a little over a month. Since owning this car everytime I fill up the gas (not over filling) or even going above 7/8 of a tank, my car stalls 3-10 times and chuggs while driving. I have already replaced the purge valve with no luck. After doing much research it has come to my attention that there has been a recall on cars just like mine. But when I look up my Vin it says no recall available. I am terrified to drive my car after putting gas in because I don't want to get into an accident.

The failing component is the same one that only "some" 2006 Dodge Chargers were covered. Even though my failed parts match the failed parts of the recall, I don't qualify because Chrysler didn't pick my VIN as one to replace. After filling fuel to proper level the vehicle shakes and as car continues to drive at normal speeds car shuts down and loses steering and power. This may be related to the fuel tank issue these have with the built in valves. The fuel pump works just fine so i know its not that. again symptoms only happen when filling the gas tank to full which is the proper level. I don't understand why this car was not recalled along with the rest. although I'm starting to be really hesitant of ever buying any dodge or Chrysler vehicle again.

IT DOES NOT STALL/DIE AT HIGH SPEEDS, BUT INSTEAD 'SPUTTERS'. IT USUALLY TAKES ABOUT 20 MILES AFTER FUELING FOR THE STALLING/ 'DYING' TO STOP.

2006 DODGE CHARGER DAYTONA R/T RANDOMLY STALLS WHILE DRIVING OR PARKED. NO CHECK ENGINE LIGHT GETS PRODUCED. IN THAT SPLIT SECOND THAT IT SHUTS OFF, THE CAR LOSES POWER COMPLETELY AND NO BRAKES OR POWER STEERING. THIS IS EXTREMELY DANGEROUS, AND DODGE SHOULD ISSUE A RECALL IMMEDIATELY TO FIX THIS ISSUE. MOST SOURCES POINT TO A FAULTY GAS TANK THAT HAS A LIFETIME WARRANTY NOW BUT SHOULD BE RECALLED.

CAR CONTINUES TO STALL AT LOW SPEED, STOP SIGN, LIGHT, ETC. IM VERY CAUTIOUS WHEN I TURN ONTO TRAFFIC FOR FEAR OF CAR STALLING AND ME GETTING HIT. BOUGHT THE 2006 DODGE CHARGER. WE FILLED WITH GAS A COUPLE MILES FROM THE DEALER. WHEN LEAVING THE GAS STATION THE CAR STALLED IN FRONT OF ONCOMING TRAFFIC. THANKFULLY, THE OTHER DRIVERS AVOIDED HITTING US UNTIL WE GOT IT RESTARTED. THEN AT HIGHWAY SPEED THE CAR AGAIN STARTED BUCKING AND CHOKING. RESEARCH ONLINE SHOWS THIS TO BE A COMMON ISSUE WITH THIS VEHICLE. THIS IS A DANGEROUS PROBLEM THAT CONCERNS ME GREATLY!

AFTER REFUELING THE CAR STALLS AFTER MOVING MAYBE 20 FEET. IT TAKES A WHILE TO START BACK UP BUT STALLS AGAIN WHILE MOVING ON THE HIGHWAY/ROAD.

CAR WILL RUN FINE ONE DAY NEXT DAY IT WON'T, CAR CUTS OFF WHEN STOPPING AN STOP SIGN OR LIGHT. CAR JERKS WHEN PRESSING GAS PEDAL TOO HARD, GAS ODORS COMING FROM MUFFLER.

SOMETIMES AFTER FILLING THE FUEL TANK FULL WITH GASOLINE, WHEN DRIVING THE CAR, THE ENGINE STALLS AND QUITS. IT CAN BE A BIT DIFFICULT TO RESTART. I HAVE ONLY HAD THIS HAPPEN ON CITY STREETS BECAUSE THOSE ARE THE ONLY PLACES I NORMALLY DRIVE.
