The car has a lot of dangerous problems. For one I had my truck diagnosed and code came back as gas cap. Then it was electric problems after the replacement of the gas cap. Check engine light was still on. So I went for another diagnostic now is coming up power train. Went to 3 to 6 transmission shops and all told me different reasons solenoid, pcm, Tcm, or maybe it’s just shot all together is what the last shop told me. That’s a $3,000 repair and that’s ridiculous after I had all those pieces replaced. My car stills doesn’t shift gears as I’m driving I can’t really go over 40 or 50 mph because of high rpm’s. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO JACK WOLF CHRYSLER JEEP (1615 N STATE ST, BELVIDERE, IL 61008) TO BE DIAGNOSED HOWEVER, THE TECHNICIAN WAS UNABLE TO DUPLICATE THE FAILURE OR RETRIEVE A FAULT CODE. THE TECHNICIAN STATED THAT THE FAILURE MAY BE DUE TO THE TIPM BUT, WAS UNABLE TO SAY FOR SURE THAT THE FAILURE WAS CAUSED BY THE TIPM. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE PERSISTED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO DIAGNOSED THE VEHICLE TOW TIMES AND DETERMINED THAT THE CONTROL BOARD WAS FRACTURED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. MY CAR IS STUCK IN PARK, WITHOUT ANY ENGINE LIGHTS OR FORE WARNING I BECAME STRANDED DROVE TO MY DR APPOINTMENT THE DAY BEFORE NO ISSUES. WENT HOME AND PARKED ALL DAY THEN WENT TO LEAVE AGAIN AND THIS HAPPENED CAR STARTS BUT WILL NOT SHIFT OUT OF PARK

WHILE DRIVING AT LOW SPEED OR ACCELERATING FROM BEING PREVIOUSLY IDLE, THE OIL PRESSURE WARNING LIGHT AND THE TRACTION CONTROL INDICATOR WILL SIMULTANEOUSLY LIGHT UP. UPON DOING SO, THE ENGINE WILL LOSE ALL POWER AND SHUT OFF. THIS REQUIRES THE DRIVER TO PUT THE CAR INTO NEUTRAL OR PARK TO START THE VEHICLE AGAIN. THIS PROBLEM OCCURRING WHILE DRIVING HAS THE POTENTIAL TO CAUSE AN ACCIDENT AT NO FAULT OF THE DRIVER FROM THIS LOSS OF CONTROL.

JUST BOUGHT VEHICLE AND DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY WITH SMALL CHILDREN WHEN THE CAR SURGED AND ABRUPTLY STALLED MOMENTARILY ON A 60 MPH HWY. WOULD ONLY DRIVE IN 1AT AND 2ND GEAR AND HAD NO WAY TO EXIT OFF HIGHWAY. ALMOST CAUSED A CAR PILE UP AS THE VEHICLE BEHIND ME HAD TO STOMP ON BRAKES ABRUPTLY. MECHANICS ARE SAYING TRANSMISSION. I HAVEN'T EVEN HAD THIS FOR A WEEK. IT WAS EXTREMELY UNSAFE AND I WAS TERRIFIED AS I HAD 5 LITTLE LIVES IN THE VEHICLE AT THAT TIME.

WHEN DEPRESSING THE ACCELERATOR, THE CAR MAKES A GRINDING OR CLUNKING NOISE . WE LIFTED THE HOOD, PUT THE CAR IN DRIVE AND DEPRESSED THE PARKING BRAKE. WE THEN APPLIED ACCELERATOR AND THE FRONT OF THE ENGINE LIFTED FROM THE MOTOR MOUNT A GOOD 2 OR 3 INCHES. THIS IS EXTREMELY DANGEROUS AND THIS ACTUALLY STARTED DOING THIS SHORTLY AFTER I PURCHASED IT IN JUNE OF 2014. IT HAD 97000 MILES AND NOW HAS 117000 MILES. I AM FEARFUL OF HAVING THE ENGINE COME COMPLETELY OFF THE FRAME. I AM TAKING IT TO MY INDEPENDENT MECHANIC NEXT WEEK. SHORTLY AFTER STARTING AND DRIVING THE CAR, WITHIN A COUPLE OF MINUTES, THE CAR COMPLETELY STOPS RUNNING WITH NO WARNING LIGHTS. JUST DIES WHILE DRIVING AS IF THE IGNITION WAS JUST TURNED OFF. THIS HAS HAPPENED MULTIPLE TIMES CAUSING A SIGNIFICANT SAFETY HAZARD AS THE POWER BRAKES AND STEERING IMMEDIATELY STOP WORKING. THE CAR IS UNDER AN EXTENDED MANUFACTURER'S BUMPER-TO-BUMPER WARRANTY SO THE REPAIR SHOULD BE COVERED AS IT IS A CLEAR DEFECT. APPARENTLY, BECAUSE THE CAR JUST STOPPED, NO CODES WERE RECORDED AS TO THE NATURE OF THE PROBLEM. HENCE, THE DEALER WAS UNABLE TO IDENTIFY A PROBLEM. THE DEALER RECOMMENDED THAT THE COST OF A SUSPECTED REPAIR BE MADE BY THE OWNER BECAUSE THEY COULD NOT DEFINITELY DEFINE THE PROBLEM AS NECESSARY TO BE REIMBURSED UNDER THE WARRANTY. I HAD MY 2007 PACIFICA IN PARK POSITION WITH THE ENGINE ON. I PUT MY FOOT ON THE BRAKE TO REVERSE THE CAR OUT OF PARKING SPACE. THE GEAR SHIFT LEVER WOULD NOT RELEASE AND GO INTO REVERSE. I HAD TO HAVE THE CAR TOWED TO THE DEALER TO REPAIR. COST ME OVER $500 (PART #4880276-AB SHIFTER T21030407). BEING STUCK IN TRAFFIC IS VERY DANGEROUS.

POWER STEERING FAILS COMPLETELY FOR ABOUT 30 SECONDS OR MORE. THIS OCCURS WHEN THE VEHICLE TRAVELS THROUGH ANY WATER ON THE ROAD THAT MAY SPLASH INTO THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT. THE STEERING BELT GETS WET AND WILL SLIP (MAKING A SCREECHING NOISE UNTIL IT SPINS OFF THE WATER AND DRIES). THE POWER ASSISTED STEERING WILL STOP COMPLETELY NOT ALLOWING THE DRIVER TO MANEUVER THE VEHICLE UNTIL THE POWER STEERING IS RESTORED. THIS PROBLEM WILL CAUSE THE DRIVER NOT TO BE ABLE TO CHANGE THE DIRECTION OF THE VEHICLE IN ANY DIRECTION TO COMPLETE A TURN OR AVOID A COLLISION! IT IS VERY DANGEROUS AND CAN OCCUR WITHOUT WARNING. WHEN I TRIED TO DRIVE MY CAR OUT OF MY GARAGE, I COULD NOT MOVE THE SHIFT LEVER OUT OF "PARK". I LATER LEARNED THAT A PART IN THE SHIFT LINKAGE ASSEMBLY HAD BROKEN. IN FACT, THIS BROKEN PART, A LOCKOUT OVER-RIDE, HAS BEEN REPLACED UNDER A RECALL OF ALL OTHER CHRYSLER AND DODGE PRODUCTS WHICH HAVE THIS PART INSTALLED. BUT FOR THE CHRYSLER PACIFICA, WHICH HAS THE IDENTICAL PART, NO RECALL HAS BEEN ISSUED. I HAVE BEEN DRIVING MY CAR AROUND, BUT HAVE NOT BEEN ABLE TO USE THE "PARK" POSITION OF THE SHIFT LEVER. IF I INADVERTENTLY PLACED THE SHIFT LEVER INTO "PARK", SAY AT A RAILROAD CROSSING, I WOULD NOT BE ABLE TO MOVE THE CAR! THIS A DANGEROUS AND SAFETY-RELATED PROBLEM, AND I WANT NHTSA TO FORCE CHRYSLER TO RECALL MY CAR AND ALL OTHER PACIFICA'S WITH THIS PROBLEM, AND REPLACE THIS LOCKOUT OVERRIDE. *TR

WHEN THE GAS GAUGE GOES DOWN TO A HALF A TANK THE GAGE GOES ALL THE WAY TO EMPTY. VERY ANNOYING BECAUSE I HAVE NO IDEA HOW MUCH GAS I REALLY HAVE. THEN WHEN I TRY TO FILL IT UP IT TAKE ABOUT 15 MINUTES TO GET $20.00 WORTH OF GAS IN THE TANK. IT WILL ONLY TAKE ABOUT 25 CENTS AT A TIME BEFORE THE GAS PUMP SHUTTS OFF AND I HAVE TO WAIT A COUPLE SECONDS FOR THE GAS TO GO DOWN THE FILLER TUBE. ALSO I HAVE HAD PROBLEMS WITH THE MOTOR MOUNTS. SECOND TIME THIS HAPPENED IN TWO MONTHS. DRIVING IN DRY, PLEASANT WEATHER CONDITIONS ON RESIDENTIAL ROAD LESS THAN 30 MPH. CAR STALLED--LOST POWER STEERING, BRAKES, ETC. OIL LIGHT DEFINITELY WAS ON. COASTED TO SIDE OF THE ROAD AND TURNED CAR OFF THEN ON. CAR STARTED RIGHT BACK UP. OIL LIGHT WAS OFF NOW. TOOK IT TO A MECHANIC, WHO SAID NO COMPUTER CODE WAS GENERATED, ALTHOUGH THERE WAS AN ABS CODE (WHICH APPEARED TO BE TOTALLY UNRELATED). ELECTRONIC THROTTLE BODY APPEARED CLEAN, BUT TOOK IT APART AND CHECKED IT. THIS IS A DANGEROUS CONDITION SIMILAR TO OTHER STALLING PROBLEMS I HAVE READ ABOUT ON 2004-06 PACIFICAS, AND THAT HAD LED TO A RECALL ON OLDER MODELS. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 CHRYSLER PACIFICA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 30 MPH, THE VEHICLE EXHIBITED DIFFICULTY IN ACCELERATION AND DECELERATION POWER. THE VEHICLE WOULD RESPOND TO ACCELERATION ATTEMPTS WITH A DELAY. ADDITIONALLY, THE CHECK ENGINE, EPS AND BRAKE WARNING LIGHTS WERE ILLUMINATED. THE FIRST TIME I HAD TO HAVE THE MOTOR MOUNTS REPLACED ON MY 07' CHRYSLER PACIFICA WAS IN 2009. THERE WAS AN AWFUL ALMOST SLAMMING TYPE NOISE AND THE VEHICLE "JUMPED" WHEN ACCELERATING. I TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALERSHIP, IT WAS STILL UNDER WARRANTY AT THAT TIME AND THEY SAID THE MOTOR MOUNTS WERE CRACKED AND THEY WOULD REPLACE THEM, BUT COULDN'T GUARANTEE HOW LONG THEY WOULD LAST. THE MECHANIC SAID THAT IT WAS "AN ISSUE" ON THE PACIFICA MODEL AS IT WAS A DESIGN FLAW AND HE HAD SEEN THIS PROBLEM OFTEN. SINCE THE FIRST TIME THE MOTOR MOUNTS WERE FOUND TO BE CRACKED IN 2009, I HAVE HAD TO REPLACE THE MOTOR MOUNTS 2 MORE TIME AND NOW THEY ARE BROKE AGAIN; TOTALING 4 TIMES IN 7 YEARS!!! THIS IS ABSOLUTELY RIDICULOUS AND UNACCEPTABLE! I HAVE CALLED CHRYSLER QUITE A FEW TIMES IN THE LAST 4 YEARS...
I WAS DRIVING DOWN THE STREET AT APPROXIMATELY 25 MILES PER HOUR AND LOST THE ABILITY TO ACCELERATE. THE ELECTRONIC THROTTLE CONTROL LIGHT CAME ON. I TURNED THE CAR OFF AND BACK ON AND THE CAR DROVE NORMALLY FOR ABOUT A MILE, AND THEN BEHAVED THE SAME WAY. I WENT TO THE DEALER FOR AN INSPECTION A MONTH AFTER PURCHASING THE VEHICLE BECAUSE THE PERFORM SERVICE INDICATOR WAS DISPLAYED, THE ONLY SUGGESTION WAS TO FIX MOTOR MOUNTS. THE BATTERY DIED ON ME A WEEK LATER, AND NOW THE CAR IS LOSING POWER WHILE I'M IN TRAFFIC. THE VEHICLE IS TURNING INTO A MONEY PIT. *TR

VEHICLE IS PARKED IN THE GARAGE AND UNABLE TO PUT THE CAR IN REVERSE TO BACK OUT. AFTER GOOGLING THE PROBLEM ,IT SEEMS THAT MANY OWNERS HAVE HAD THIS ISSUE AND DISCUSSING WITH CHRYSLER CUSTOMER SERVICE THEIR ANSWER WAS TO ENGAGE THE PINK PLASTIC BUTTON INSIDE SHIFTER CONSOLE WHICH I'M AFRAID DID NOT WORK FOR ME. I'VE SINCE RELEASED THE CABLE INSIDE THE HOOD TO FREE UP THE SHIFTER AND NOW IN THE SHOP FOR REPAIR. CHRYSLER IS AWARE OF THIS ISSUE AND MADE CORRECTIONS FOR THE 05-07 300'S &CHARGERS BUT NEGLECTED THE PACIFICAS,FOR WHAT REASON I DON'T KNOW. *TR
THE TRANSMISSION SHIFTER INTERLOCK LEVER, A SMALL PLASTIC PART WITHIN THE SHIFTER ASSEMBLY OF CERTAIN AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION VEHICLES OF THE CHRYSLER MARQUEE HAS A HOOK TO WHICH A SPRING IS ATTACHED. WHEN THE HOOK BREAKS, THE VEHICLE CANNOT BE MOVED BECAUSE THE SHIFTER LEVER WILL BECOME LOCKED IN THE "PARK" POSITION. THE CHRYSLER CORPORATION, IN AN AGREEMENT WITH NHTSA (AS I HAVE BEEN MADE AWARE) VOLUNTARILY RECALLED SEVERAL CHRYSLER PRODUCTS WHICH SHARED THIS PART, UNDER THEIR "CUSTOMER SATISFACTION NOTIFICATION K39". THOSE VEHICLES, CHRYSLER 300, DODGE MAGNUM AND CHARGER (2005-2007), PROBABLY MANY THOUSANDS, WERE ALL REPAIRED AT NO CHARGE TO OWNERS. YOU MUST BE AWARE THAT THIS IDENTICAL PART, INTERCHANGEABLE WITH THE ABOVE-MENTIONED VEHICLES, IS INSTALLED IN CHRYSLER PACIFICA VEHICLES. BUT THE "VOLUNTARY" RECALL EXCLUDED ANY PACIFICA VEHICLE. IN ADDITION, THE GEARS WOULD NOT SHIFT CORRECTLY.
