MY 2007 CHEVY UPLANDER HAS BECOME UNSAFE. MULTIPLE MECHANICS HAVE GIVEN DIFFERENT GUESSES AS TO WHAT THE PROBLEM MAY BE. WHEN DRIVING, IF I STOP AT A STOP SIGN OR RED LIGHT, OR EVEN DURING STOP-GO TRAFFIC, THE VAN WILL SUDDENLY JERK WHEN I GO TO ACCELERATE. SOMETIMES THE JERK IS INCREDIBLY FORCEFUL AS IF I HAVE BEEN HIT FROM BEHIND. TWO MECHANICS HAVE RECOMMENDED A COMPLETE TRANSMISSION REPLACEMENT BUT SAY THAT THEY HAVE HAD SIMILAR COMPLAINTS FROM OTHER OWNERS OF THE SAME MAKE/MODEL VEHICLE. BECAUSE THE VAN DOES THIS, IT IS HARD TO ACCELERATE IMMEDIATELY FROM A STOPPING POINT. THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT THE TRANSMISSION SLIPPED WITHOUT WARNING RANDOMLY. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER WHERE IT WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 100,000.

FREQUENT CLICKING FROM CHANGING GEAR TO GEAR WHILE VEHICLE STILL IS A RESULT OF THE CV AXLE SPINNING INSIDE THE HUB (PRESS BRAKE AND GAS) THE REMEDY FOR THIS PROBLEM OF SHUDDERING AND STALLING WHEN AT A GO FROM A STOP OR TRANSITIONING TO SLOWING DOWN IS TO REPLACE THE CV AXLE WITH ONE THAT HAS A LONGER SHAFT WITH SPLINES THAT ACTUALLY EXTEND THROUGH THE HUB SO THAT THE HUB NUT THREADS DO NOT ENTER THE HUB BEARING AND THE CV AXLE SPLINES RUN ALL THE WAY THROUGH THE HUB (INSTEAD OF PARTIALLY/LESS THAN HALFWAY). THE FUEL GAUGE/FUEL RANGE HAS BEEN MALFUNCTIONING SINCE 09 IN THAT THE GAUGE COULD CHANGE OR FLUXUATE AS MUCH AS 1/8 TO 1/4 TANK IN A VERY SHORT TIME. THE FUEL RANGE WHICH I THOUGHT SHOWED HOW MANY MILES YOU SHOULD BE ABLE TO DRIVE CONSIDERING THE AMOUNT OF FUEL IN THE TANK, THAT CHANGED AS MUCH AS 50 MILES AND A FEW TIMES, THE FUEL GAUGE WOULD READ ABOUT 1/8 OF A TANK, AND I HAVE DRIVEN 1 BLOCK, AND IT SHOWED EMPTY. REALIZING THAT OTHER ARE OTHER FACTORS, I DO HOWEVER FEEL THAT IT IS A SAFETY ISSUE ESPECIALLY IF I'M ON THE HIGHWAY. THIS SAME PROBLEM STILL EXIST AS OF THE WRITING OF THIS COMPLAINT AND 2 DIFFERENT DEALERS HAVE SUPPOSEDLY FIXED THE PROBLEM BY CHANGING THE FUEL SENSOR (4 TIMES) AND REFUSED TO CHANGE IT THE LAST TIME THAT I TOOK IT TO THEM. SOMETIMES IT WILL TAKE OFF NORMALLY, SOMETIMES IT WILL SHUDDER AND BUCK BEFORE, OR WHILE ATTEMPTING TO GO, AND SOMETIMES IT WILL JUST SIT THERE AND DO NOTHING BUT INCREASE THE ENGINE RPMS, WHEN THE RPMS ARE BACK TO NORMAL IT MIGHT TAKE OFF OR IT MIGHT NOT. I PURCHASED MY 2007 CHEVY UPLANDER VAN IN 02/2010. IF YOU ARE STOPPED AND GO TO TAKE OFF, THE TRANSMISSION WILL JERK INTO GEAR, SO SEVERELY AT TIMES THAT IT FEELS AS IF YOU HAVE BEEN HIT IN THE REAR END. IN 06/2010, NOT COMPLETELY SURE OF THE MILEAGE (GETTING THAT INFO FROM DEALER WHO COULDN'T FIND THE PROBLEM) I TOOK IT BACK TO THE CHEVY DEALER I BOUGHT IT AT AND THEY SAID IT WAS THE CADILLAC CONVERTER, THEY CHANGED THAT BUT I STILL HAVE THE PROBLEM. NOW MY MANUFACTURER WARRANTY HAS RUN OUT AND THE PROBLEM IS SO BAD THAT I TOOK IT TO ANOTHER DEALER AND THE SAID I NEED A COMPLETE NEW TRANSMISSION. THE INPUT CLUTCH IS LEAKING INTERNALLY.
