MY FRAME RAIL ON THE DRIVERS SIDE IS CORRODING AWAY TO THE POINT WHERE IT IS NO LONGER SAFE TO DRIVE / I HAVE BROUGHT THE VEHICLE TO THE GM DEALERSHIP TO VERIFY THE CONCERN / I HAVE CONTACTED GENERAL MOTORS ABOUT THIS CONCERN AND WAS GIVEN THE RUN AROUND / I HAVE A VEHICLE THAT HAS COSTED MY TIME AND MONEY TO PURCHASE / AND MAINTAIN / THIS TRUCK RUNS GREAT AND SHOULD BE CAPABLE OF LASTING MANY MORE YEARS - EXCEPT FOR THE FACT THAT THE FRAME RAIL IS CORRODING AWAY IN THE SAME SPOT ON THIS TRUCK AS ON OTHER GM TRUCKS FROM THIS YEAR AND MODEL RANGE . I BELIEVE GM DESIGNED A FAULTY FRAME/ I BELEIVE THE FRAMES ON THESE TRUCKS WERE NEVER TREATED TO RESIST THE ELEMENTS /
Won’t shift into 3rd gear
Power surges sometime everything shuts off while driving leaving no brakes, steering, or acceleration. Other times there is a no start due to no power or the instrument cluster goes haywire. Reacquiring problem with no answers why. Others have had the same problem. Scary driving fine at 60 with kids in the back and all of a sudden you lose control of your truck unexpectedly for the first time. No Warnings or OBD2 codes.
My vehicle will just start up sometimes on its own with or without key in ignition, as well as set alarm off. Also, it constantly feels like the brakes are on at all times. It feels like it drags alot. And it feels like it doesn't properly have enough power when accelerating.
After buying this used truck from GM certified dealership having advanced inspection before we took home 3 months in First start of the day about 7AM, 5-10min into driving, no MIL light, truck engine shut off hard to pull over and I tried to restart but wouldn't start. After waiting an hour for a tow truck I tried once more and it fired up. Cancelled tow drove home fine. But it did it a few more random times while driving until Oct. now it sits. Its scary when theres no MIL indicating a problem, but this is a problem and safety during travel. It wont start after 7 month ownership ,MIL light is now on saying U0100. Bought 4/2021.
This 2007 Chevrolet Silverado has only 73,730 miles . The vehicle in question has an oil consumption issue and is available for inspection upon request. An oil consumption issue will lead to low oil and low oil pressure which can lead to a fire. Problem has been confirmed by an independent service center. Vehicle has been inspected by a certified automotive technician. Vehicle loses oil close to 100 miles and the add engine oil display on the Driver Information Center. Every trip that is close to 100 miles will cause oil consumption and the Add Engine Oil Will display. Vehicle was taken to a repair shop and i was informed that some Chevrolet Silverado Trucks engines will consume oil due to excessive amount of oil going to the pistons. The contact owns a 2007 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. The contact stated while driving 45 mph, the vehicle lost motive power without warning. The brakes and power steering failed. The vehicle was towed to the contact's father's residence. The vehicle was not diagnosed nor repaired. The dealer and manufacturer were not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 167,000.
WHILE DRIVING AND COMING TO A STOP, A LOUD CLUNK NOISE COMES FROM THE REAR END. WITHIN 2-4- SECONDS AFTER STOPPING, IT FEELS LIKE SOMEONE HITS MY TRUCK FROM THE REAR END. YOU CAN ACTUALLY FEEL THE TRUCK MOVE FORWARD, BUT VERY SLIGHTLY. I BOUGHT THIS TRUCK NEW IN 2007, AND TOOK IT BACK TO TWO DIFFERENT DEALERS WITHIN THE FIRST YEAR OF OWNERSHIP. BUT WAS TOLD NOTHING WAS WRONG, AND NOW IT DOES IT EVERYTIME I DRIVE IT. I AM AFRAID THE REAR END WILL LOCK UP AND CAUSED ME TO LOSE CONTROL.

BRAKE LIGHT SENSOR CONSTANTLY DEFECTIVE. REPLACE ABOUT 6 TIMES. TRANSMISSION JERKED ALL THE TIME. WON'T GO INTO DRIVE BUT WILL GO INTO REVERSE. MAKES A VERY LOUD CLANKING NOISES.

MY ISSUE IS WITH THE OIL PRESSURE IN MY 2007 CHEVY SILVERADO 1500 4X4. THE LOW OIL PRESSURE LIGHT COMES ON AND I CAN HEAR THE LIFTERS TAPPING. I GOT ONLINE AND THERE ARE THOUSANDS OF COMPLAINTS ON THIS SAME ISSUE. IT APPEARS TO BE A PROBLEM WITH EITHER A DEFECTIVE OIL PUMP OR A SCREEN IN THE OIL PRESSURE SENSOR CLOGGING. THIS ISSUE NEEDS TO BE RECALLED BECAUSE IT EFFECTS LITERALLY THOUSANDS OF PEOPLE.

VEHICLE STABILITRACK AND TRACTION CONTROL LIGHTS CAME ON. ENGINE WARNING LIGHT CAME ON. WHILE ATTEMPTING TO TURN THE VEHICLE ONTO A HIGHWAY ACCELERATION RAMP, THE CAR STEERING WHEEL LOCKED AND THE ENGINE DIED. COULD NOT UNLOCK THE POWER STEERING. 2007 CHEVROLET SILVERADO 1500 5.3L ENGINE. AT 40,000 MILES, THE CAMSHAFT AND A COUPLE OF LIFTERS WERE REPLACED DUE TO WEAR AND EVENTUAL TAPPING. AGAIN AT 90,000 MILES, THE CAMSHAFT AND A COUPLE OF LIFTERS (LOBE 4) WERE REPLACED DUE TO LIFTER WEAR AND BREAKAGE CAUSING ENGINE TAPPING. ON THE SECOND OCCURRENCE, AFTER THE LIFTERS HAD STARTED TAPPING (AND 900 MILES FROM HOME) A PIECE OF A LIFTER BROKE OFF AND CAUGHT IN THE OIL PUMP CAUSING IT TO STOP. I QUICKLY TURNED OFF THE ENGINE TO AVOID FURTHER DAMAGE.
