The contact owns a 2010 Chevrolet Malibu. The contact had been informed by other drivers that the brake lights failed to illuminate as intended while driving. Additionally, the contact stated that the brake lights randomly illuminated while driving. The traction control warning light was illuminated intermittently, causing the cruise control to become inoperable. The contact stated that as an independent mechanic, he had replaced the brake sensors twice; however, the failure persisted. Additionally, the contact stated that the vehicle was previously repaired under NHTSA Campaign Number: 14V252000 (Electrical System, Exterior Lighting, Vehicle Speed Control, Electronic Stability Control (ESC); however, the failure persisted. The dealer was notified of the failure and informed the contact that the failure might be related to the brake sensors. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 140,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 CHEVROLET MALIBU. THE CONTACT STATED WHILE DRIVING 35 MPH, THE CHECK ENGINE WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED INTERMITTENTLY. THE CONTACT ALSO STATED WHILE DRIVING 40 MPH, THE STEERING WHEEL BECAME DIFFICULT TO TURN WITH THE SERVICE TRACTION CONTROL WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT AFTER STARTING THE VEHICLE, SHE WAS UNABLE TO SHIFT OUT OF PARK. THE CONTACT STATED SHE WAS ABLE TO SHIFT INTO DRIVE GEAR AFTER 2 HOURS. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO UNKNOWN LOCAL DEALER, WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED WITH NEEDING THE CONTROL MODULE TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED BUT CONTINUED TO EXPERIENCE THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO THE DEALER AND WAS INFORMED THAT THE STEERING CONTROL MODULE NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER HAD NOT BEEN INFORMED OF FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN.
WE HAVE REPLACED THE ELECTRIC POWER STEERING (EPS) TORQUE SENSOR TWICE, WITH DIFFERING BRANDS (AC DELCO, AND CAN'T REMEMBER THE OTHER). SINCE IT'S AN ISSUE WITH THE EPS, THE TRACTION CONTROL IS OUT/DISABLED AS WELL. THE CAR FEELS LIKE IT COULD BE POTENTIALLY DANGEROUS TO DRIVE, CONSIDERING IT'S A FULL SIZE SEDAN AND THE OPERATOR IS 115LBS WITH HER CHILDREN IN THE CAR. IT'S EXCEPTIONALLY DIFFICULT TO STEER AT SLOWER SPEEDS, AND ALMOST IMPOSSIBLE PARKED. THE DEALERSHIP SHE BOUGHT IT FROM, NOR THE LOCAL CHEVY DEALERSHIP WILL TAKE ANY RESPONSIBILITY, AND SHE CAN'T AFFORD TO SINK EVEN MORE MONEY INTO THE CAR. THIS IS RATHER OUTRAGEOUS CONSIDERING THE CAR IS NORMALLY MAINTAINED AND THE DEALERSHIP SHE BOUGHT IT FROM WAS AWARE OF THE ISSUE AS SHE HAD BROUGHT IT TO THEIR SERVICE CENTER (DUE TO PURCHASED WARRANTY AT THE TIME) WHERE WHATEVER-THEY-DID RESET THE LIGHT, BUT THE ISSUE RECURRED LATER...
PUT CAR IN GEAR. THE BUTTON STAYS IN AND KEY WON'T COME OUT. THE CAR ISN'T ENGAGED SO IT CAN MOVE ON IT'S OWN. *TR
IN 2012, WE WERE DRIVING ALONG AND ATTEMPTED TO BACK INTO A PARKING SPOT, WHEN THE CAR REFUSED TO REVERSE. IT STARTED GOING SLOWER THAN THE USUAL SPEED LIMIT, SO I DIDN'T KNOW WHAT TO DO. I PULLED OUT TO HEAD HOME, BUT THE CAR DIDN'T GET MUCH SPEED, NOR WOULD IT REVERSE AT ALL. I HAD IT TOWED AND THE TRANSMISSION WAS BURNED OUT. I'D ONLY HAD THE CAR LESS THAN 30,000 MILES. CHEVROLET REPAIRED OR REBUILT THE TRANSMISSION. A YEAR LATER, I WAS PULLED OVER DUE TO THE TAIL LIGHTS NOT WORKING. 2016 THE CAR WOULDN'T PICK UP SPEED AGAIN. I HAD IT TOWED AND THE TRANSMISSION HAD BURNED OUT AGAIN. WE GOT IT REBUILT A SECOND TIME AND NOW THE LIGHTS, WIPERS, DOOR LOCKS, AND WINDOWS AREN'T WORKING AGAIN EITHER. OBVIOUSLY THERE'S A MANUFACTURER ISSUE THAT NEEDS REVIEWING ON THIS YEAR MALIBU. *TR
WHILE DRIVING ON THE INTERSTATE, IN A CURVE, THE POWER STEERING QUIT WORKING, THE WHEELS TURNED STRAIGHT AND I HAD TO SLAM ON MY BRAKES TO AVOID HITTING THE BARRIER WALL. AFTER TURNING THE CAR OFF AND RESTARTING IT, THE POWER STEERING BEGAN WORKING AGAIN. THE POWER STEERING NOW QUITS WORKING AFTER A MILE OF DRIVING, ONLY TO START WORKING AGAIN AFTER A RESTART OF THE ENGINE. THIS HAS BEEN HAPPENING FOR AROUND 20,000 MILES.
WHEN I STARTED THE CAR THE STEERING WHEEL TWITCHES ON ITS OWN AND WHEN I'M DRIVING THE STEERING WHEEL GETS STIFF AND IT SAYS SERIVCE ESC/POWERSTEERING.
ON THE DASH POWER STEERING WARNING COMES ON ALONG WITH SERVICE ESC THEN ESC IS OFF. THIS HAS BEEN HAPPENING WHILE DRIVING. THE POWER STEERING WILL CUT OFF.. ALSO OF I'M IDLE THE STEERING WHEEL WILL START JERKING BY ITS SELF

I STARTED MY CAR, MY TRACTION LIGHT CAME ON, AND MY SERVICE POWER STEERING LIKE CAME ON AS WELL AND I COULDN'T MOVE MY STEERING WHEEL. I TURNED THE CAR OFF AND BACK AND AND IT DIDN'T HAVE AGAIN. I DON'T KNOW WHAT'S WRONG AND I DON'T KNOW WHAT ACTIONS TO TAKE.
STEERING GOES OUT WHILE DRIVING, NOTICED A SLIGHT TWITCH IN THE STEERING WHEEL WHEN I STARTED IT UP TO LEAVE FOR WORK . IT WAS DOING THIS TWITCH WHILE IN PARK .. ON THE WAY HOME FROM WORK IT GOES OUT WHILE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY
WHENEVER THE CAR STARTS, THE SERVICE ESC LIGHTS COME ON AND STAY ON. STEERING WHEEL IS VERY HARD TO TURN AND WON'T TURN UNLESS THE CAR IS IN MOTION THUS CAUSING ME TO WRESTLE WITH THE STEERING WHEEL TO MAKE A RIGHT OR LEFT TURN. EVERY MECHANIC I'VE SEEN TOLD ME TO TRADE IT IN BECAUSE THE REPAIRS ARE QUITE EXPENSIVE. THEY MENTIONED SOMETHING ABOUT REPLACING THE ENTIRE STEERING COLUMN. THEY ALSO COULDN'T SERVICE THE POWER STEERING BECAUSE IT'S STRICTLY ELECTRONIC. THIS IS NOT SAFE FOR ME OR MY FAMILY BECAUSE WHO KNOWS WHEN IT WILL LOCK UP FOR GOOD WHILE I'M DRIVING. THIS HAS BEEN GOING ON FOR THE PAST MONTH. PLEASE HELP ME
TWO DAYS AGO, I NOTICED THAT MY STEERING WHEEL WOULD SHAKE WHEN I WOULD STOP AT A LIGHT OR SOMETHING BUT I COULD STILL DRIVE. THAT SAME NIGHT, I TURNED ON MY CAR TO LEAVE A PARKING LOT WHEN MY STEERING WHEEL LOCKED UP. IT WOULD NOT BUDGE. I NOTICED THAT IT SAID MY ESC SYSTEM NEEDED TO BE CHECKED. I TURNED MY CAR ON AND OFF 5 TIMES TO SEE IF IT WOULD MOVE AND IT DID NOT. ON THE 6TH TRY, THE WHEEL MOVED AND I TOOK THE CHANCE TO DRIVE MY CAR TO THE DEALERSHIP. AFTER 2 DAYS OF WORKING ON MY CAR, THEY DETERMINED THAT SENSOR WENT BAD. AFTER LOOKING ONLINE, I SEE THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM THAT IS VERY DANGEROUS. I COMMUTE 2 HOURS ROUND TRIP EACH DAY ON THE INTERSTATE AND I AM SO THANKFUL THAT THIS HAPPENED IN A PARKING LOT.
THE POWER STEERING CONTROL LOCKS UP THE STEERING SYSTEM. THE BRAKES PULSATES WHEN STOPPING CAUSE LOSING TRACTION. ESC CONTROL IS OFF. MAKING THE VEHICLE NOT DRIVE-ABLE.

VEHICLE WAS WORKING GREAT AS HAS ALWAYS, UNTIL OUT OF NOWHERE , IN THE MIDDLE OF DRIVING DOWN THE HIGHWAY, I LOST ALL MOVEMENT IN MY STEERING WHEEL. IT BECAME MORE THAN IMPOSSIBLE TO TURN AND I HAD TO STOP EVERY 10 SECONDS AND TURN MY CAR OFF AND BACK ON TO TRY AND GET IT HOME. I KNOW THAT MORE THAN A FAIR SHARE OF PEOPLE WITH THE SAME VEHICLE HAVING THE EXACT PROBLEM. SUDDEN LOSS OF STEERING. I KNOW THAT THERE IS AN OPEN RECALL, BUT ITS NOT SHOWING MY VEHICLE HAS ANY CURRENT RECALLS, THOUGH THERE WAS ONE FOR THE POWER ASSISTED MOTOR THAT IS STILL OPEN FROM WHAT I CAN SEE. I HAVE ALWAYS TAKEN CAER OF MY VEHICLE AND NEVER HAD ANYTHING LIKE THIS HAPPEN, AM I CORRECT WITH TAKING IT TO THE DEALERSHIP STILL TO GET IT REPLACED FROM THE RECALL?
UPON DRIVING THE CAR THE ESC LIGHT AND POWER STEERING LIGHT WILL COME ON AND CARE WILL HAVE NO POWER STEERING.STEERING WHEEL ALSO MOVES ON IT'S ON AND MAKES SOUNDS INSIDE THE COLUMN. VERY DANGEROUS FOR MY WIFE TO HAVE TO DRIVE AND DROP OFF THE KIDS AT SCHOOL.NOTHING BUT PROBLEMS OUT OF THE CAR SINCE WE PURCHASED IT 3 YEARS AGO.

THE VEHICLE WAS THEN TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE THE PASSENGER SIDE CV JOINT WAS REPLACED, BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 108,000.

PASSENGER DOOR GLITCHES SOMETIMES WILL NOT OPEN FROM INSIDE NOR OUT. LOCKING UNLOCKING STILL NOTHING. ETC... ETC.. OIL CONSUMPTION!!! I'M LOSING 100$S OVERTIME CONSTANTLY HAVING TO PUT A QUART IN DUE TO LOSING A QUART IN A DAYS TIME LIKE MAKES NO SENSE
WAS DRIVING ON A CITY STREET APPROACHING AN S BEND GOING DOWN HILL WITH A STEEP EMBANKMENT WHEN THE POWER STEERING FAILED. POWER STEERING ESC LIGHTS WENT ACTIVATED. I ALMOST WENT OVER THE EMBANKMENT BEFORE BEING ABLE TO FORCEFULLY TURN THE WHEEL AND CONTINUED TO THE BOTTOM OF THE HILL AND OFF TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. I WAS CLOSE TO HOME SO I WAS ABLE TO DRIVE THE CAR HOME. I CALLED FOR A TOW TRUCK DRIVER. WHEN HE ARRIVED THE POWER STEERING WAS FINE NO POWER STEERING MESSAGES. HE WAS AWARE OF PREVIOUS RECALLS BUT THIS VEHICLE HAS NO ACTIVE RECALL EVEN THOUGH IT IS THE EXACT PROBLEM COVERED BY SAME YEAR MAKE AND MODEL.
I WAS DRIVING AND I NOTICED A DECLINE IN POWER FROM THE MOTOR. THEN THE DASH START READING REDUCED ENGINE POWER AND ESC AND SERVICE TRACTION CONTROL.
ACCELERATING FROM A STOP SIGN TO TURN LEFT OUT OF PARKING LOT ONTO SHORT STREET WHEN POWER STEERING STOPPED WORKING, TRACTION LIGHT ILLUMINATED ON DASH AND SERVICE ESC CAME ON SCREEN AS WELL.
TRACTION CONTROL LIGHT CONTINUES TO COME ON. WHEN THIS HAPPENS THE BRAKES MALFUNCTION ILLUMINATES WHEN I'M NOT PRESSING THE BRAKES AND GOES OUT WHEN I DO. DISABLES CRUISE CONTROL. REPLACED BODY CONTROL MODULE 6 MONTHS AGO TO CORRECT THESE ISSUES STILL HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM VERY UNSAFE.
I CURRENTLY HAVE 2 OPEN RECALLS AND WAS NEVER SENT OUT NOTICES FOR EITHER, I AM CURRENTLY 15 WEEKS PREGNANT SO THAT'S A SAFETY CONCERN WITH ME BECAUSE THEY CAN BOTH RESULT IN A CRASH.
THE BRAKE LIGHTS COME ON AT ANY GIVEN TIME EVEN WHEN YOU AREN'T PRESSING ON THE BRAKE PEDAL. WHEN YOU PRESS ON THE BRAKE PEDAL SOMETIMES THE BRAKE LIGHTS DO NOT COME ON AT ALL. I HAVE REPLACED WHEEL HUB/BEARING COMBOS, ALONG WITH ADDING ELECTRICAL GREASE TO THE CONNECTOR FOR THE LIGHT CONTROLS, NOTHING FIXES THIS ISSUE.
BRAKE LIGHTS REMAIN ON WHILE PEDAL'S NOT ACTIVATED, AND TURN OFF WHEN PEDAL IS PRESSED. ESC AND TRACTION ERROR MESSAGES APPEAR WHILE DRIVING, USUALLY WHEN COMING TO A COMPLETE STOP AT ANY GIVEN TIME. THE LIGHTING ISSUE SEEMS TO COINCIDE WITH THE APPEARANCE OF SAID ERROR MESSAGES.
BRAKE LIGHTS ENGAGE WHEN BRAKE PETAL IS NOT ENGAGED AND DO NOT LIGHT WHEN BRAKE PEDAL IS PRESSED. CENTER BRAKE LIGHT RARELY WORKS. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM IN CAR SEEMS TO BE SHORT CIRCUITED AS LIGHTS ON CONSOLE BLINK. ESC CONTINUOUSLY IS TURNED OFF, ENGINE LIGHT WILL NOT GO OFF, LOW TIRE PRESSURE INDICATED AND IT'S A FALSE READ. TRANSMISSION HAD TO BE REPLACED RIGHT AFTER WARRANTY EXPIRED. DRIVER SIDE WINDOW MOTOR FAILED. ALL OF THIS ISSUES WITH EXCEPTION OF WINDOW HAVE BEEN HAPPENING FROM THE TIME I PURCHASED THE CAR. I TOOK IT MANY TIMES TO DEALER WITH NO REMEDY
SAFETY OF MY FAMILY IS MY MAIN CONCERN, I DON'T KNOW WHAT SPEED I'M GOING A I DON'T KNOW HOW MUCH GAS I HAVE, I DON'T KNOW IF THERE'S AN ENGINE PROBLEM, BECAUSE NOTHING IN THE PANEL IS WORKING!

ELECTRONIC STABILITY CONTROL ESC LIGHT COMES ON AND SAYS SERVICE THEN ESC OFF. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE WITH THESE CARS. SEAT BELTS FAIL. SAFETY ISSUE. AND OUR WILL NOT START BECAUSE THE ANTI THEFT SYSTEM IS ACTIVATED FOR NO REASON. ALL OF THESE ARE CONSISTENT WITH SEVERAL OTHER COMPLAINTS. GM SHOULD BE ASHAMED FOR SELLING VEHICLES THAT FAIL. APPROXIMATELY 78,000 MILES. HOPEFULLY THEY WILL STEP UP AND CORRECT THESE PROBLEMS!!
THE ESC LIGHT COMES ON AND TELLS ME IT NEEDS SERVICED. WHEN THIS HAPPENS THE BRAKE LIGHTS STAY ON EVEN IF MY FOOT IS NOT ON THE BRAKE. IT ALSO HAS A PROBLEM WITH THE GEAR SHIFT WHEN TRYING TO PULL IT OUT OF PARK. THIS ALSO DISABLES MY CRUISE CONTROL. THIS ISSUE HAPPENS SOMETIMES AS SOON AS I START THE CAR OR AFTER DRIVING FOR A BIT. I'VE TAKEN THE CAR IN TO GET THE PROBLEM FIXED. THEY REPLACED THE BRAKE SENSOR AND THAT WORKED FOR A WEEK THEN THE ESC LIGHT CAME BACK ON AND THE BRAKE LIGHTS STAYED ON.

EVEN AFTER BRAKE LIGHT RECALL FROM 2014, I CONTINUE TO HAVE PROBLEMS WITH THE BRAKE LIGHTS ILLUMINATING WHEN I'M NOT PRESSING THE BRAKE PEDAL, AND TURNING OFF WHEN I PRESS THE BRAKE PEDAL. I'VE HAD THIS PROBLEM 'FIXED' SEVERAL TIMES NOW, AND IT KEEPS HAPPENING. MOST RECENTLY, IN JANUARY 2019, AND NOW 6 MONTHS LATER, IT IS HAPPENING AGAIN. WHILE I'M DRIVING (AND NOT ALWAYS WHILE I'M BRAKING), THE SERVICE TRACTION, SERVICE ESC, ESC OFF WARNINGS COME ON MY INFO DISPLAY, AS WELL AS THE TRACTION CONTROL IMAGE. FROM THAT MOMENT ON, WHILE I'M DRIVING AND NOT PRESSING THE BRAKE PEDAL, MY BRAKE LIGHTS ARE ALL ILLUMINATED. WHEN I LIGHTLY PRESS ON THE BRAKE, THE LIGHTS GO OFF, UNLESS I CONTINUE TO PRESS HARDER ON THE PEDAL, AND THEN THEY'LL COME ON AGAIN. THIS IS SUCH A HAZARD WHILE I'M DRIVING THAT I DON'T EVEN WANT TO GO ANYWHERE. WHY...

WHEN BRAKE PEDAL IS DEPRESSED, THE BRAKE LIGHTS TURN OFF. THIS HAS BEEN GOING ON FOR TWO YEARS NOW. THE DEALERSHIP JUST PATCHES THE REPAIR. THE REPAIR ONLY LASTS A FEW WEEKS.

CAR HAS SINCE HAD LOSE OF POWER, SLUGGISH, DIES PERIODICALLY, AND NOW ALMOST 3 YEARS AFTER THOUSAND DOLLAR REPAIR NOT TO MENTION THE AIR BAG LIGHT THAT IS ON THAT THEY ARE TELLING ME WILL COST AT LEAST 1000 DOLLARS AS WELL TO REPAIR AS MY CAR IS OUT OF WARRANTY AND THAT IT IS A SAFTEY CONCERN. MY CAR DIED AGAIN WHILE COMING THROUGH A INTERSECTION AND THE P0341 HAS COME UP AND BEEN REPLACE3D FOUR TIMES SINCE FEBRUARY 2019. THE STEERING WHEEL WOULD TWITCH THEN IT BECAME VERY HARD TO TURN WHILE IN MOTION. THE POWER STEERING AND ESC OFF LIGHTS CAME ON
MY STEERING IS LOCKING UP AND VIBRATING. IF TURNING THE STEERING AND KEY AT SAME TIME IT STARTS BACK WORKING.AND MY DRIVER SIDE HEADLIGHT KEEPS GOING OUT. I'VE HAD THE WAITING HARNESS CHANGED AND IT STILL CONTINUE TO NOT WORK.
POWER STEERING. IS GOING OUT 3 DAYS AFTER GETTING FOR MY BIRTHDAY FEB SALESMAN NEW IT CUZ HE SEEN LIGHTS ON DASH BUT KEPT SAYING JUST DRIVE IT WELL MY EXTRA COVERAGE WARRANTY IT DOES NOT COVER CRAZY HUH CUZ I HAVE BEEN TOLD2 TIMES DIFFERENT MECHANIC THAT THERE WAS OR SHOULD OF BEEN A RECALL. DRIVING AND POWER STEERING GOES OUT IT IS SCARY..
POWER STEERING HAS GONE OUT IN THE CAR, GETTING ESC REPAIR LIGHT AND POWER STEERING LIGHTS ON THE CONSOLE. EXTREMELY DIFFICULT TO TURN, ESPECIALLY AT LOW SPEEDS. OCCURED WHILE DRIVING IN THE CITY.
ELECTRIC POWER STEERING STOPPED WORKING ON MATCH 18, 2019. I WAS TURNING RIGHT ONTO BUSY 4 LANE CITY STREET FROM A PARKING LOT, SPEED < 5 MPH. COULD NOT TURN INTO RIGHT LANE, STRUGGLED TO SWING CAR INTO LEFT LANE W/O CROSSING MEDIAN. IT WAS NOT SIMPLY A LOSS OF POWER STEERING. I'VE DRIVEN OLD CARS THAT NEVER HAD POWER STEERING AND THIS WAS 10 TIMES MORE DIFFICULT TO STEER. I THINK I STRAINED A MUSCLE IN MY SHOULDER. TURNING DID NOT GET EASIER AS I ACCELERATED, EVENTUALLY TO ABT 40 MPH. STRUGGLED THROUGH 3 MORE HAIR RAISING TURNS (ALL TURNS MADE) BEFORE PARKING IT AT HOME. THE ESC/TCS INDICATOR CAME ON IN THE PARKING LOT AND STAYED ON. ERROR MSGS DISPLAYED WERE POWER STEERING, SERVICE ESC, SERVICE AIR BAG. I HEARD NO CHIMES. WE GAVE MY DAUGHTER THIS USED CAR IN 2015. SHE HAD COMPLAINED A COUPLE OF WEEKS...
IN MOTION ON THE HIGHWAY. ENGINE POWER WOULD REDUCE AND THE SERVICE ESC LIGHT AND SERVICE ENGINE LIGHT WOULD COME ON. ENGINE WOULD RUN ROUGH AND THE CAR WAS NOT ABLE TO GO FASTER THAN 30 MPH. AS SOON AS THE LIGHT CAME ON THE SPEED WOULD DECREASE. I WAS IN THE MIDDLE LANE OF TRAFFIC GOING 60 MPH WHEN THIS HAPPENED. I HAD TO MOVE OVER TWO LANES IN HEAVY TRAFFIC GOING 30 MPH.
I WAS DRIVING WHEN ALL OF A SUDDEN THE STEERING WENT OUT. IT SAYS ESC AND POWER STEERING ON MY DASH.
WHILE DRIVING THE ESC, TRACTION AND POWER STEERING LIGHTS CAME ON AND THEN THE POWER STEERING WENT OUT. FOR A SHORT TIME I COULD STOP, TURN THE CAR OFF AND IT WOULD WORK AGAIN . NOW THERE IS NO POWER STEERING AND OF COURSE ALL THE LIGHTS ARE STILL ON. THIS YEAR MODEL WAS LISTED AS ONE OF THE RECALLS FOR THE POWER STEERING BUT NOT MY VIN NUMBER. I HAVE HAD THIS CAR IN THE SHOP FOR A RECALL ON THE LIGHTING SYSTEM THAT WAS FAULTY WHICH IN THE RECALL IT DID SAY THAT IT COULD CAUSE THE POWER STEERING TO GO OUT AS WELL AS THE ESC AND TRACTION. THE CHEV DEALERSHIP SAID THAT THIS WAS NOT CORRECT. THE ESTIMATE I WAS GIVEN WAS ABOUT $1500.00 TO FIX THE PROBLEM.
ON MARCH 1, 2017 AT 28981 MILES, THE AIRBAG LIGHT CAME ON, (NOT THE FIRST TIME). THE NEXT DAY, THE STABILITY CONTROL AND THE ABS LIGHTS BOTH ALSO CAME ON. IN BOTH OCCASIONS THE CAR WAS MOVING AT ABOUT 40 MPH ON A CITY STREET. I TOOK IT TO THE DEALER, THEY CHARGED ME $153 TO GET A DIAGNOSIS.THEY WANTED ANOTHER $850 TO HAVE IT FIXED. I TOOK IT TO ANOTHER SHOP THAT DID IT FOR $190. THESE WERE 2 SEPARATE PROBLEMS, ONE WAS THE AIRBAG LIGHT (A CONNECTION UNDER THE FRONT PASSENGER SEAT), AND THE OTHER WAS A SENSOR IN THE LEFT FRONT WHEEL (THE STABILITY/ABS LIGHT).
WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD, THE CLUSTER PANEL STARTS SHOWING WARNING LIGHTS FOR THE STEERING, SERVICE ESC, AND THE MIL LIGHT WAS ON, THE CAR LOST POWER, LOST POWER STEERING AND HAD NO POWER, NO MATTER WHAT I DID, THE CAR WOULD NOT RESPOND. THIS PUTTING MY FAMILY AND ME IN DANGER, WE WERE DRIVING ON THE IDL IN TULSA OKLAHOMA AT RUSH HOUR, VERY, VERY BUSY ROAD AT THAT TIME OF DAY. I HAVE RESEARCHED THE PROBLEM, THIS IS A VERY SERIOUS ISSUE THAT WILL END UP GETTING SOMEONE KILLED. THE CAR IS COMPLETELY UNSTABLE, ERRATIC AND VERY HARD TO DRIVE, YOU LOSE POWER (NO ACCELERATION) AND POWER STEERING. THE CAR HAS 142,000 MILES ON IT, THAT SEEMS TO BE WHEN IT HAPPENING TO OTHER VEHICLES ALSO.
DRIVING HOME FROM WORK ABOUT 30MPH AND ALL OF A SUDDEN THE CAR LOOSES POWER AND ECO ASSIST SHUTS OFF, WITH TRACTION CONTROL,TRACTION ASSIST, AND POWER STEERING . THIS SEEMS LIKE A SAFETY ISSUE AS I COULDN'T PULL OFF TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD DUE TO THESE ISSUES AND THE CAR WOULD ONLY GO 10 MPH!! I SEE OTHER HAVE COMPLAINED ABOUT THIS ISSUE IN NYS AND NOTHINGS BEEN DONE OR WHEN WE GO TO THE DEALERSHIP THEY JUST CLEAR THE CODES AND SAY NOTHINGS WRONG! THIS IS AN ISSUE AS IF SOMEONE WAS BEHIND ME THEY WOULD OF HIT ME AS WHEN THESE LIGHT CAME ON THE DASH WITH THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT THE CAR WENT FROM 30MPH DOWN TO 10 MPH AND THE CAR RAN ROUGH AND SLOW . PLEASE DO SOMETHING WITH THIS ISSUE AS ALOT OF PEOPLE COMPLAINING !
WHILE DRIVING 50MPH ON A STATE HIGHWAY, POWER STEERING FAILED. SERVICE ESC AND POWER STEERING ALERTS DISPLAYED 2/19/19. DEALER IDENTIFIED STEERING WHEEL TORQUE SENSOR AND STEERING WHEEL POSITION SENSOR OUT OF CALIBRATION. TECHNICIAN RE-CALIBRATED SENSORS. APPROXIMATELY 2 HOURS AFTER PICKING UP THE VEHICLE 2/20/19 THE POWER STEERING FAILED AGAIN. THIS IS A SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE THAT HAS THE POTENTIAL OF SERIOUS BODILY HARM.
