MY WIFE, DRIVING DOWN A CITY STREET IN OUR 2010 CHEVROLET MALIBU, HAD TO SWERVE TO HER RIGHT TO AVOID A TRUCK THAT WAS COMING AROUND A CURVE IN HER LANE, AND IN THE PROCESS OF AVOIDING THE ONCOMING VEHICLE , SCRAPPED THE CURB WITH HER RIGHT FRONT TIRE. UPON CHECKING THE RIGHT FRONT TIRE, THE CHROME ON THE PLASTIC HUB HAD PEELED BACK AND HAD SHARP EDGES. UPON FURTHER EXAMINATION IT APPEARS THAT THE CHROME FROM THE HUBCAP, HAD CUT THE SIDEWALL OF TIRE SO THAT I COULD SEE THE CORD. THE HUB CAP EXTENDS OUT FROM THE RIM OF THE TIRE, AND IT SEEMS LIKE ANY EXTREME FLEXING OF THE TIRE, SUCH AS MY WIFE HAD, OR DRIVING THROUGH AND POT HOLE INTO THE ROAD, WOULD CAUSE THE HUBCAP TO CUT THE TIRE. I NOW HAVE TO PURCHASE AND NEW HUB CAP AND NEW TIRE FROM THE DEALERSHIP...
