Everytime my vehicle is exposed to water by rain or car wash. It goes into low power mode or limp mode only accelerating to like 30mph. I was told there is water getting somewhere is shouldnt causing a short. Im not the only one with this problem . Ive read on several forums.I was just on the freeway recently and it rained for about 5 minutes here in fresno California which is extremely unusual because it is still summer and the vehicle did this while i was driving. I could've caused an accident i had to pull over and stop driving. I turned off and on the car several times and the low power mode finally went away, and also the service stabilitrak system. Chevy is aware of this problem and they need to fix before somebody gets hurt
WHILE DRIVING SUDDENLY STABLITRAK SERVICE LIGHT AND ENGINE LIGHT COMES ON. DOOR LOCKS START UNLOCKING AND LOCKING, ALL LIGHTS START FLASHING AND CAR SLOWS DOWN. AT THE SAME TIME STEERING WHEEL BECOMES VERY TIGHT AND UNABLE TO TURN. HAPPEN WHILE DRIVING ANY SPEED. HAVE HAD MANY VISITS TO MECHANICS: ECM REPLACED AND PROGRAMMED WAS THE LAST ATTEMPT PRIOR TO THAT I HAD A NEW STARTED PUT ON. THIS IS A KNOWN ISSUE FOR CHEVROLET'S FROM MY RESEARCH. RECENTLY BOUGHT A USED 2014 CHEVY TRAVERSE LT AND I'M STARTED TO SEE THE SAME ISSUES AND I'VE ONLY HAD IT 1 WEEK. I'M VERY UPSET THESE MODELS AREN'T SAFE. TO MANY TIMES TO COUNT HOW MANY TIME IT'S HAPPENED MAYBE 30-40 IN 1 YEAR.
THE CAR KEEP OVERHEATING WHEN I'M DRIVING AND AT A STAND STILL THE FAN KEEP COMING ON AND THE MECHANIC CAN NOT FIGURE OUT WHAT IS CAUSING THE PROBLEM. *TR
PURCHASED THE CAR USED WITH 115K MILES. THE FIRST SIGN OF AN ISSUE WAS THE SOUND OF WATER RUSHING TO THE HEATER CORE (AIR). CAR STARTED OVERHEATING A FEW WEEKS LATER AS THE OUTDOORS TEMPERATURE STARTED TO CLIMB IN LATE SPRING. I STARTED TO SEE WHITE SMOKE COMING FROM THE TAIL PIPE AND WAS HAVING TO ADD COOLANT EVERY OTHER DAY. THE ISSUE STARTED TO GET WORSE SO I TOOK IT TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO DIAGNOSED A HEAD GASKET FAILURE. THE ISSUE HAPPENS MORE FREQUENTLY ON HILLS, DURING HOT WEATHER AND WHILE STOPPED AT LIGHTS OR IN TRAFFIC. I TRIED TO USE A HEAD GASKET SEALANT WHICH WORKED FOR ABOUT A MONTH AND THEN THE CAR BEGAN TO OVERHEAT AGAIN. I CHECKED OUT SEVERAL FORUMS AND FIND THAT THIS IS A KNOWN ISSUE IN THIS VEHICLE DUE TO A POOR CHOSE OF HEAD GASKET WITH SOME ANTIFREEZE/COOLANT TYPES. HEAD...

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THE INTERMITTENT ELECTRONIC DISCONNECTION WAS IN THE STEERING COLUMN AND THE STEERING COLUMN NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THERE WERE NO WARRANTIES OR RECALLS ON THE VEHICLE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 115,000.
GASOLINE LEAK/FIRE HAZARD, CHARACTERISTIC OF THE 2012 RECALL OF EXACT MAKE, MODEL AND YEAR FOR SPECIFIC VEHICLES SOLD OR REGISTERED IN CERTAIN STATES. MY VEHICLE IS EXPERIENCING SAME EXACT ISSUE AS PRECIOUS RECALL WITH GASOLINE ODOR/LEAK.

THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND DID NOT ASSIST. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 212,998.

VEHICLE HEATS UP AND CAUSES WATER HOSES TO OVER HEAT AND BUST UP. THIS CAN CAUSE A SERIOUS BURN INJURY. APPARENTLY THIS IS A PROBLEM CAUSES BECAUSE OF THE HEAD GASKETS THAT WERE USED.THE GASKETS GET DAMAGED AND START CAUSING THE LINES TO FILL UP WITH AIR CAUSING ALOT OF PRESSURE TO.MOTOR AND THEN OVER HEATS.ALL THE LINES THAT BRING WATER TO THE MOTER BUSTED AND VEHICLE WASNT EVEN SHOWING TO BE HOT. VEHICLE STILL WORKS BUT CANT BE USED BECAUSE IT OVERHEATS. LINES WERE REPLACED TWICE BUT WILL BUST IF TRUCK IS TURNED ON . THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED, BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A LOCAL DEALER (DODGE COUNTRY, 1902 E CENTRAL EXPY, KILLEN, TX 76541) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE HEATER CORE, COOLANT SENSOR, AND B PASS HOSE NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED, BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED A SECOND TIME. THE CONTACT CALLED THE MANUFACTURER AND WAS REFERRED TO NHTSA AND THE DEALER FOR SERVICE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 154,000.

I GOT THIS CAR FROM FREDERI K AUTO CENTER IN MARCH. EVER SINCE THEN I HAD PROBLEMS. I TOLD THEM I LET THEM. KNKW ABOUT THEM AND THEY ALWAYS SAID NOTHING WAS WRONG WITH IT. THE ONE TIME THEY WERE SUPOOSE TO FIX SOMETHING THEY HAD THE CAR FOR TWO DAYS AND RHEY PUT TAPE ALL OVER THE HOSES RO STOP THE LEAKS. THEY ALSO FAILED THE MD INSPECTION CONSIDERING MY WIRES ARE MELTED TOGETHER AND MY IGNITION DOESNT WORK RIGHT WHICH WOULDNT HAVE PASS. THEN THEY REPO IT WHEN I WQSNT LATE ON MY PAYEMNT BECAUSE I SAID I WANT IT FIXED SINXE IT WAS SOLS THAT WAY OR I WILL FILE A COMPALINT. EVERYTHING QAS ILLEGAL THATBTHEY DID.

ON NOVEMBER 17TH THE VEHICLE STARTED TO TELL ME THAT IT WAS OVERHEATING AND TO TURN A/C OFF. A/C WAS NOT EVEN ON BECAUSE IT WAS COLD AND THE HEAT WAS BLOWING COLD AIR. THE VEHICLE THEN TOLD ME WHILE I WAS TRYING TO GET TO A SAFE LOCATION TO PULL OVER THAT THE ENGINE POWER WAS REDUCED AND THE VEHICLE STATED TO CRAWL ALONG THE ROAD. WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS LOOKED AT WHERE I PULLED OVER THERE WAS MINIMAL OIL IN THE VEHICLE AND IT HAD BLOW COOLANT ALL OVER THE DRIVER SIDE WHEEL WELL FROM WHAT LOOKED LIKE THE OVERFLOW TUBE. OIL WAS PUT IN THE VEHICLE SO THAT I COULD DRIVE IT TO A SAFE LOCATION. ON NOVEMBER 18TH I WENT TO START THE VEHICLE TO GO TO WORK AND WITHOUT GOING ANY PLACE BUT SITTING IN THE DRIVEWAY IT STARTED TO TELL ME THAT THE ENGINE...

I WAS DRIVING HOME AND ENGINE OVERHEATED, ALMOST DIDN'T GET OFF ROAD. TOOK TO A GARAGE AND $433. LATER WITH TOW BILL, THEY REPLACED THERMOSTAT AND FLUSHED IT. ONE WEEK LATER DID THE SAME THING PLUS KEPT POPPING UP OIL CHANGE NEEDED AND HAD ALREADY DID THAT FEW MONTHS BEFORE. FILLED WITH GAS AND IT POPPED UP LOW FUEL. HAD IT LOOKED AT AGAIN AND THEY SAID HEAD GASKET, WHICH QUOTED $2500. BUT SEVERAL HAVE TOLD ME THEY HAD WORKED ON SEVERAL WITH SAME PROBLEM, SAID EQUINOX ARE KNOWN FOR THIS! WHY IS THERE NOT A RECALL ON THIS PROBLEM? I AM ON SS AND THIS IS HARD FOR ME TO HANDLE MONEY WISE. I'M JUST UPSET THAT THIS IS HAPPENING TO SEVERAL OTHERS AND THEY JUST ACCEPTED IT AND DIDN'T COMPLAIN!!!!
THERE IS A COMMON PROBLEM WRONG WITH THE CHEVY EQUINOX, I HAVE A BLOWN HEAD GASKET BECAUSE OF WATER IN MY DASHBOARD. I WAS TOLD TO FILE A COMPLAINT, BECAUSE SO MANY INDIVIDUALS WHO BY THESE PARTICULAR VEHICLES ALL HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM ESPECIALLY IF YOU PURCHASED A EQUINOX BETWEEN 2006 AND 2009. THIS IS A MANUFACTURER DEFECT AND THE VEHICLES SHOULD BE RECALLED. *TR
WHILE DRIVING ON INTERSTATE 95 GOING 70 MPH , THE STEERING LOCKED UP AND I LOST POWER WHEN ALL THE DASH LIGHTS STARTED FLASHING. THIS WAS THE DAY AFTER I BOUGHT THE CAR FROM AUTO SHOWCASE OF BELAIR MD. THE POWER STEERING GOING OUT HAPPENED ATLEAST 7 TIMES IN THE FIRST TWO WEEKS ALONE. I REQUESTED FOR THEM TO TAKE THE CAR BACK, THEY REFUSED.. 4 WEEKS INTO OWNING THIS CAR THE POWER STEERING ISSUE WAS FINALLY RESOLVED.DURING THAT TIME PERIOD I FOUND OUT THAT THE CAR SOLD TO ME WAS STOLEN, THE DEALER DID NOT TELL ME THAT AND SHOWED ME PAPER WORK THAT WAS NOT A CAR FAX REPORT. THREE MONTHS LATER IN OCTOBER OF 2013 MY CAR STARTED OVER HEATING AND CUTTING POWER OFF TO THE ENGINE WHILE DRIVING THE SPEED LIMIT ON 95. IT HAPPENED 5 TIMES. A MECHANIC LOOKED IT OVER AND SAID THE HEAD...
FAN ASSEMBLY STOPPED WORKING, CAUSING MY ENGINE TO OVERHEAT, AND NOW I HAVE A BLOWN HEAD GASKET...NOT A CHEAP REPAIR. APPEARS THERE ARE A LOT OF OWNERS OF THE SAME VEHICLE THAT SEEM TO BE HAVING A HEAD GASKET ISSUE AROUND 80K. *JS

ABOUT A YEAR AND A HALF AGO, MY POWER STEERING WENT OUT ON MY EQUINOX. I HAVEN'T HAD ANY ACCIDENT DUE TO THIS BUT I FIND IT WEIRD THAT THE RECALL OF THE GM AUTOMOBILES HAVE THE SAME DEFECTS AND PROBLEMS AS MINES. IVE ALSO HAD PROBLEMS WITH MY ENGINE AS WELL WHEN THE STIBILITRAC LIKE CAME ON. I TOOK IT TO CHEVY BUT THE DIDN'T HAVE THE PART AND THEY SAID THE WOULD ORDER IT. I TOOK MY CAR INTO A POWER CHEVROLET DEALERSHIP BACK IN SEPTEMBER, THEY SAID THERE HAD BEEN A RECALL FOR THE COILS/SPARK PLUGS. THEY FIXED THE ISSUE, AS MY CAR HAD BEEN STALLING AS I ACCELERATED. NOW, RECENTLY MY ELECTRIC STABILITY TRACTION LIGHT CAME ON, ALONG WITH MY ENGINE AND "SERVICE BRAKES" LIGHT. I HAD MY BRAKES DONE BACK IN OCTOBER AT THE SAME TIME AS THEY REPLACED THE COIL. MY CAR IS STARTING TO STALL AND DO THE SAME AS IT WAS BACK IN OCTOBER. I AM NOT SURE WHY CHEVY IS NOT RECALLING OR SENDING OUT NOTICES ABOUT THESE ISSUES. IT'S HAZARDOUS. I CONTACTED A LAWYER. *TR

THE FAILURE RECURRED SPORADICALLY WHENEVER THE VEHICLE WAS IN OPERATION. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE PROBLEM. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 82,000.
ON 1/28/13 I REPLACED THE THROTTLE BODY AT GM CERTIFIED DEALER. TRUCK WAS DIAGNOSED WITH CODE P2135 FOR FAILED THROTTLE BODY AND CONNECTOR. WHILE DRIVING MY 2007 CHEVY EQUINOX IT DISPLAYED SERVICE TRACTION CONTROL, SERVICE STABILTRAK, ENGINE POWER REDUCING AND CHECK ENGINE LIGHT. ON 7/5/13 I RETURNED MY TRUCK BACK TO THE DEALER. THEY DIAGNOSED THE TRUCK AGAIN AND REPLACED THE PART A SECOND TIME. NOW ON 8/19/13 THE TRUCK WAS BACK AT THE DEALER FOR THIRD TIME AND SAME ISSUE. DEALER DIAGNOSED MY TRUCK AND COULD NOT FIND ANYTHING WRONG AT THE TIME AFTER I COMPLAINED OF SAME ISSUE DISPLAYED ON VEHICLE. 9/11/13 THE SERVICE TRACTION CONTROL/STABILTRAK WITH CHECK ENGINE CAME ON AGAIN. I NOTICED A GAS SMELL WHEN I GOT OUT OF MY CAR AND WHEN IT IS PARKED IN MY DRIVEWAY. I TOOK IT TO THE DEALERSHIP WHERE I BOUGHT THE CAR AND THEY LOOKED AT IT FOR ME. THEY TOLD ME THE GAS TANK WAS LEAKING A LITTLE BIT FROM THE TOP OF THE TANK. I THEN DID SOME RESEARCH AND FOUND OUT THAT THERE IS A RECALL ON THE FUEL PUMP FOR THE SAME REASON. I LIVE IN KENTUCKY AND THE RECALL IS IN THE WESTERN STATES. WHY IS IT ONLY IN THOSE STATES IT IS A DEFECT IN THE PART ITSELF AND I FEEL AS IF IT SHOULD BE REPLACED JUST THE SAME AS THE OTHERS. ALSO I AM HAVING A PROBLEM WITH THE STABILITRACK IN MY VEHICLE. A WARNING WILL APPEAR ON THE DASH THAT STATES SERVICE STABILITRACK, STABILITRACK OFF, AND THEN IT WILL STATE ENGINE POWER...
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 CHEVROLET EQUINOX. WHILE PARKED, THE CONTACT NOTICED THAT THE ABS AND STABLE TRACK WARNING LIGHTS WERE ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING. THE TECHNICIAN WAS UNABLE TO DIAGNOSE THE FAILURE HOWEVER, RESET THE COMPUTER BUT THE FAILURE CONTINUED. THE WARNING LIGHTS CONTINUED TO ILLUMINATE INTERMITTENTLY. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO THE DEALER WHERE THE TECHNICIAN ADVISED THE CONTACT THAT THE EGR VALVE WOULD HAVE TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 25,000.
THE BELT TENSION FELL OFF. HANDFULL OF PARTS FELL OUT FROM UNDER THE VEHICLE WHILE THE CAR WAS PARKED. BELT TENSIONER BROKEN AT SPRING END; REPLACED TENSIONER. *TR
FIRST PROBLEM HAPPENED RECALL ON SPARK PLUG BOOT 1 CYLINDER WASN'T FIRING, WAS FIXED UNDER WARRANTY AS WAS THE GASKET FOR THE HATCHBACK WAS BAD. THAT LEAD TO A GALLON OR SO OF WATER INTO MY SPARE TIRE COMPARTMENT. THIS HAS SINCE HAPPENED AGAIN AND I NEED ANOTHER GASKET. THE DRIVER SIDE WINDOW STOPPED WORKING, BEING A ELECTRICIAN I FOUND TO BROKEN WIRES INSIDE RUBBER BOOT ON DOOR HINGE SIDE. ABS LIGHT CONSTANTLY COMES ON/OFF COMPUTER SAYS ABS NEEDS SERVICE ( SENSOR PROBLEM). GAS GAUGE IS READING INCORRECTLY, I HAVE TO USE THE RANGE SETTING ON THE COMPUTER. SPEEDOMETER READINGS INCORRECT SITS AT 60MPH WHEN THE CAR IS OFF. I BOUGHT THIS VEHICLE BRAND NEW AND HAVE NOTHING BUT PROBLEMS, MOST OF ANY VEHICLE I'VE OWNED. CURRENT MILEAGE 63,000 MILES. *TR
