The telematics module has failed on approx. [XXX] and due to a large scale amount of GM vehicles having this same failure the replacement parts are unavailable. My research has found that this module failure has been a problem since at least February 2025 and now in December the parts are still on backorder for each failure. I purchased this car for my [XXX] daughter and now that this module has failed I am unable to track the vehicle and the vehicle's mapping system is useless, along with the ability to locate nearby charging stations. Additionally, the OnStar system is disabled and that is a safety issue. When we took the car into the dealership, they were very accommodating and diagnosed the issue quickly. This was in part due to the fact that my daughter is only [XXX] and cannot be provided a loaner vehicle or rental for age related...
Since May 2025, my 2025 Chevrolet Equinox EV has experienced repeated electronic malfunctions with the central display and instrument cluster. The screens have frozen, flickered, and rebooted multiple times while driving. On one occasion at approximately 75 mph, the entire display and instrument panel shut down and did not return for about two minutes. The vehicle continued to respond to steering, brakes, and propulsion, but I was driving completely blind with no speedometer, warnings, or navigation. I slowed down and exited the highway to give myself space and carefully made it home. This was extremely stressful and left me concerned for my safety and my family’s safety. In another incident while stopped at a traffic light, the system froze while music was playing and the vehicle became unresponsive. It only restarted after I shifted into Park and restarted the car. The “Buckle to Drive” safety feature has also failed twice....
First the window on the driver side wouldn't go down. That was fixed at the dealer. Now the GPS system is not working. I am taking it back to the dealer again on Saturday. Tell me why a $500 phone's GPS system always works and a $40,000.00 car can't keep its GPS system working? I'm thinking this car is a lemon. I just took possession of it on 1-18-25. It is a 2025 Equinox EV. Also, in the sun, the dashboard reflects on the window and it appears as if one is looking through a screen. It is very distracting and dangerous.
I purchased this vehicle new. Within weeks started having issues with the OnStar system. Obviously with the module not working, other things began happening. I can't see status of charge. I can't find charging stations when driving. My hands free doesn't work because google is always off line. Can't use OnStar system because it doesn't work. Came out one morning to find my vehicle unlocked and all the windows down. I live in Florida, have never once used the defrost system or set the vehicle temperature above 72. Turned the car on one day and the defrosters magically turned on and the temperature went up to 76 full blast. The the forward braking system started slamming the brakes when I was already stopping. One day it slammed us so hard that my grandchildren screamed because their car seat belts cut into their shoulders. Contacted OnStar numerous times. Contacted dealerships numerous...
I experienced a brake failure this past weekend in my 2025 Chevrolet Equinox EV LT while descending a dirt/stone road. The moment we started descending, the ABS system engaged and did not brake the car adequately. In my opinion, the ABS system should not have engaged in this terrain. The ABS, would not shut off for our entire descent, which lasted for about two full minutes. During this time, we could not stop the car and were accelerating out of control. We got going far faster than I was comfortable with, and my passenger & I thought we were going to end up crashing. After about a minute of inability to brake properly or stop, we ended up getting a flat tire. The flat tire, combined with the terrain flattening, eventually helped us come to a complete stop. After stopping, the car was also having software issues (infotainment system resetting),...
NHTSA Safety Complaint (Loss of Emergency Connectivity) Subject: 2025 Chevrolet Equinox EV — OnStar/telematics failure disables Emergency Services & Automatic Crash Response; part on national backorder VIN: [XXX] Make/Model/Year: Chevrolet Equinox EV, 2025, RS trim Mileage at first occurrence: 4000 Date problem first occurred: [XXX] Frequency: Continuous (services remain unavailable) Injuries/Crashes: None to date Component(s) affected: Electrical system — telematics/communication (OnStar); emergency calling/SOS; crash notification (ACR). Description of the safety defect: The vehicle’s OnStar/Connected Services display “Services Unavailable.” The dealer diagnosed a failed telematics module. Replacement is on national backorder with no estimated timeframe. While in this condition, Emergency Services and Automatic Crash Response are disabled—the SOS button does not connect, and the vehicle will not automatically contact OnStar after a crash. Parts availability (scope/delay): My dealership and multiple GM/Chevrolet and OnStar owner forums indicate 3+ month waits for the telematics module with no ETA, leaving vehicles without emergency connectivity...

Now, it won’t even start, and the battery was only at 73%. I can’t help but imagine my car stopping in the middle of the road. I would have died. My high-voltage battery isn’t even being recognized by the system. This is a highly...
The contact owns a 2025 Chevrolet Equinox EV. The contact stated that while driving approximately 55 MPH, the red warning lights suddenly were displayed onto the driver's side windshield and the instrument panel malfunctioned and displayed a black screen. The contact stated that the failure was displayed for several seconds before the system rebooted and was self-corrected. The cause of the failure was not yet determined. The manufacturer and local dealer were not yet notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 1,500.
Glaring Issue. High Voltage Battery keeps popping up error
Car sensors don’t work as intended. Stay on and continue flashing. While driving on free way sensor shut off and cause vehicle not be able to detect lane or vehicle next to it
After activating the turn signal fully, it will often spring past the neutral/off setting and straight into signaling the opposite direction. Occasionally this is with enough force that the signal will stay on, but it is usually only with force sufficient to tap the other signal and register only 2-3 blinks before stopping. This is a safety issue because it looks like erratic signaling behavior to those outside of the vehicle. When travelling on busy highways at speeds exceeding 60mph erratic signaling of this kind can confuse other drivers and lead to collisions. It can make other drivers think you are driving erratically (like changing lanes only to double back into the lane you came from) or to try to pass you rapidly just to escape a driver that is signaling strangely. This has been confirmed on many Equinox EVs, both '24 and '25 model years. This does not trigger...
Service High Voltage System Error. Lithium-Ion Battery and 12V Battery require your attention. Brand New vehicle, should not be getting errors.
The turn signal stalk, when self-canceling from a right turn, will drop too hard, and will turn on the left turn signal after the turn, causing confusion to not only the vehicle operator, but other drivers on the road. This has happened on multiple occasions.
The contact owns a 2025 Chevrolet Equinox EV. The contact stated that after charging the electric motor, the vehicle immediately lost charge within twenty minutes of driving. The contact stated that the vehicle would not properly remain charged. The contact was concerned that the vehicle might lose automotive power and stall. The vehicle also failed to blow warm air, making it difficult to defrost the windows. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer who was unable to determine the cause of the failure. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The contact previously received a letter from the manufacturer about reducing the charging time to prevent a fire risk. The failure mileage was 50.
The turn signal going in either direction has 2 positions. The first is regular on that keeps the turn signal on until it is turned off or until steering wheel is turned off. The other position is the “flick” that flashes the signal 3 times and turns it off on its own. When I set my turn signal to the regular on position to turn right, after I complete my turn the signal turns itself off and goes into the default off position. However when returning itself into the off position, it ends up going into the “flick” position for left turn. The signal then flashes left 3 times and turns off. So to summarize, after turning right while using the turn signal, it flicks itself into the left turn position. This is distracting to me while driving and may confuse other drivers as well. I took it into the...
