What component or system failed or malfunctioned, and is it available for inspection upon request? The passive keyless entry/anti-lockout system on my 2024 Chevrolet Equinox EV failed. The vehicle locked all doors with the key fob still inside the cabin. The doors appeared unlocked (handles popped out) but would not open from the outside. The key fob and vehicle are available for inspection. How was your safety or the safety of others put at risk? This malfunction created a severe child safety hazard. If my daughter had been inside during warm weather, she could have been trapped in a rapidly heating vehicle with no way to escape. This posed a life-threatening risk. Has the problem been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center? Not yet.
