2013 CHEVROLET CRUZE Unknown Or Other Problems

My car over heats at least over 300 degrees. Afraid that my vehicle is In danger of catching fire due to the high temperature causing tension belt and hose components to melt.

I’ve had the thermostat housing fail twice now. And now it leaking again for the third time!! Now the service stabilitrak light is on, but it only happens when the car is idling. This happened to me before while driving and I replaced the spark plugs and the coil pack. I know on other models the valve cover failed as well but I don’t see a recall on that, or the thermostat housing issues…. I just don’t get whyyyyy if people are having all the same issues why not recall it!!???

Have been told it’s the catalytic converter but when driving it loses power and stalls. It has almost caused wrecks. Ever since I got this vehicle it’s been one thing after another and the more I look online about the issues with my vehicle, the more I realize that thousands and thousands of Chevy Cruze owners are having the same issues. I’ve had to put two oxygen sensors on it since having it, replaced the turbo, spark plugs, all kinds of parts on this vehicle. They clearly did not make this vehicle safe or reliable

I own 3 Chevy Cruze, a 2012, 2013 and 2016. They all partial power down or decelerate while driving. The local Chevy dealers has no recalls for this issue or any other for that matter. Please advise

I wanted to file this because I feel this a safety concern. My vehicle has always been kept up on maintenance. One day out no where it started acting up my 2013 Chevy Cruze Ls. I had a shop come back after they did a diagnostic that is was a faulty throttle body sensor and Pcv. I have issues with it shutting off and I’ll have to coast it to stop.What I’m not understanding how can there be recalls for my vechicle same problems same make/model but it’s not showing my vehicle matching up with my Vin #.I do have all the supporting documents and paperwork stating these issues.

Coming home from grocery shopping the night of Sept 3, 2023 the radio kept turning off then coming back on. I was on the highway about 20miles from home radio still turning on and off about every 5mins (go black/blank then light back up) and I had felt when i would accelerate it would as I would slightly go up hill. For the last couple of months my Chevy Cruze LT 1.4L turbo engine has been having severe cooling issues making my car overheat in a little amount of time. I drive 20 minutes back and forth to work and everytime I get to work or get home from work I find myself having to fill up with antifreeze again and again and again. I’ve replaced the water pump and multiple hoses. And now I have to replace more hoses.

Thermostat keeps alerting me that it's overheating, while constantly guzzling anti-freeze and water. There's no obvious leak, completely dry under the car. The car will shut its self off.

The 2013 Chevy Cruze is prone to overheating and there is always a coolant leak or something related to the coolant/antifreeze that is leaking or not correct. My Chevy Cruze has been leaking coolant profusely and so has my friends who had a Chevy Cruze as well. It is truly a pain to continuously refill the coolant so that the vehicle will not overheat. A recall needs to be in place immediately. I’ve heard this same story on Chevy Cruze a way too many times.

While driving the light came one engine overheating a/c shut off. There was a leak of coolant. I was stranded on the side of the road. We had it brought to a mechanic. They repaired the problem. My car just shut off by itself while I was driving without any warning. My check engine light isn’t on and I just got my car out of the shop a few weeks ago, so I’m not sure why this happened. It is not safe and was definitely scary, being that I am pregnant and also had daughter with me.

MULTIPLE INCIDENTS OF OVERHEATING SPANNING OVER THE PERIOD OF A FEW YEARS NOW: WATER PUMP, COOLANT HOUSING, VALVE COVER GASKET, AND MOST RECENTLY TURBO CHARGER COOLANT LINES HAVE ALL BEEN REPLACED. HAVE NOT CONTACTED MANUFACTURER BECAUSE THE INFORMATION EVERYWHERE SAYS THERE ARE NO RECALLS FOR THIS OBVIOUSLY VERY COMMON PROBLEM! DOESN'T SEEM FAIR AT ALL. Countless oil leaks - replaced the valve cover /gasket and solenoids and countless other parts to stop the oil leak when it was coming from the intake manifold PVC system - I even replaced the turbocharger.

CHECK ENGINE LIGHT IS ON STATING ISSUE WITH TURBO. THIS IS A KNOWN ISSUE YET GM IS COVERING SOME BUT NOT MINE. PER GM MY VIN IS NOT PART OF THE RECALL YET I AM HAVING THE ISSUE.

The vehicle keeps going to A/C off due to vehicle running hot. I've gone to the dealer and various shops had the water pump, hoses, outlet housing, thermostat replaced. I still smell coolant leaking and burning off when I open the hood I see the engine and catalytic converter wet and drying off as the wetness evaporates; the smell stays inside the car. Chevrolet has issued a recall on the Chevy Cruze for antifreeze that has been known to leak at the thermostat housing. My is doing that which is causing it to over heat. I contact them and they said my car don have that issue mean while I drive 2 blocks it starts to over heat.

The dealership sold my family this vehicle that has been a total loss since 2018. My understanding on why it has a green title is because someone paid out of pocket to cover the repairs. It has also been in 2 other accidents in 2020. The dealership did not make us aware of it and have been avoiding my contact.

There is a consistent plastic burning smell, usually when the AC or heater is on. I have replaced the AC unit, and this still happens. Smoke sometimes appears on the driver's side through the vents. I have taken the vehicle in a few times for this, and they can never find anything. The last repairs I had done replaced wires, pipes, and connectors.

THE COOLANT IS LEAKING, MY ENGINE LIGHT TURNED ON WHILE I WAS DRIVING ON A CITY STREET AND IT SAID MY ENGINE WAS HIGH IN TEMPERATURE.

WHENEVER I REFUEL MY CAR I HAVE TO REV THE ENGINE FOR A COUPLE MINUTES OTHERWISE THE CAR WILL DIE.

I WAS JUST DRIVING ALONG UNDER NORMAL DRIVING WHEN ALL OF A SUDDEN MY RPMS WENT ALL THE WAY UP AND THE CAR WASN'T GOING ANYWHERE BUT COSTING TO A STOP ALONG WITH A LOUD BANGING SOUND. I WAS DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 28MPH ON A STREET

I LEFT MY KEYS IN THE IGNITION ONE NIGHT, WENT TO BED, AND WOKE UP TO MY HEADLIGHTS TURNING ON AND OFF. I THOUGHT SOMEONE WAS TRYING TO STEAL MY CAR, BUT WHEN I RAN OUTSIDE, THE CAR WAS LITERALLY STARTING ITSELF, TURNING ITSELF OFF, TURNING BACK ON, AND BACK OFF. I'M NOT SURE HOW LONG IT HAD BEEN DOING THAT, BUT THEN I STARTED IT UP MYSELF, AND TURNED IT OFF, THEN REMOVED THE KEYS FROM THE IGNITION. IT WAS IN THE PARK POSITION.

FIRST THE WATER PUMP HAD TO BE REPLACED, THEN THE TURBO COILS HAD TO BE REPLACED $740, THEN THE SURGE TANK AND NOW THEY ARE SAYING MORE LEAKS AND WANTED TO DO SOME TEST THAT COST $65. SOMETHING IS NOT RIGHT, AM I THE ONLY ONE THIS IS HAPPENING TO?

THE PLASTIC GEAR THAT RUNS THE DEFROSTER BROKE AND WE CAN'T SEE TO DRIVE THE VEHICLE

TOOK CAR IN FOR OVERHEATING AFTER HAVING HI TEMP WORNING COME ON. CHECKED COOLANT LEVELS IT WAS LOW. DEAL REPARED CAR PER RECALL. UNFORTUNITLY MOTOR WAS DAMAGED DO TO OVER HEATING. DEALER RETURNED CAR WITH BAD MOTOR AFTER TESTING FOR HIDROCARBONS. CHARGED ME $800 EVEN WITH RECALL PARTS PROVIDED. CAR IS STILL UNDRIVABLE DO TO WATERPUMP LEAK. WHERE DO I GO FROM HERE? LEMON LAW? DEALER WORK NOT PREFORMED? PLEASE ADVISE.

THE OILS IS LEAKING IS THIS VEHICLE .. AND HOW IT WAS EXPLAINED IS THAT THE OIL IS ALSO LEAKING INTO THE TURBO .. WHICH IS CAUSING OIL TO BASICALLY BE PUSHED OUT INSTEAD OF AIR BEING BROUGHT IN FOR THE CAR TO GO THE CORRECT SPEED AND THE CAR IS UNDRIVEABLE

THE CAR SEEMS TO HAVE BEEN AFFECTED OF ONE SEVERAL ISSUES THAT HAPPENED EARLY ON IN THE PRODUCTION WITH A COOLANT LEAK SMELL PROBLEM IN THE CABIN, PARTICULARLY EVIDENT WHILE BRAKING TO A STOP. THE SMELL SEEMS TO BE LINKED TO A COOLANT LEAK IN THE HEATER CORE OR IN THE CONNECTIONS OF THE PIPES WITH THE EXCHANGER ITSELF. THIS IS DANGEROUS AS THE FUMES ARE POSSIBLY SLIGHTLY TOXIC AND, MOREOVER, IT INDICATES A LEAKAGE IN AN AREA AFTER THE FIREWALL THAT CAN LEAD TO SCALDING IF IT GETS IN CONTACT WITH A PERSON. EARLIER EVENTS ON THE CAR HAPPENED IN THE INITIAL PRODUCTION OF THE CRUZE AND TYPICALLY QUITE EARLY IN THE MILEAGE, BUT MY CAR SHOWED IT NOW AT 105000 MILES. AN IMPROVEMENT, BUT EVIDENTLY NOT A FULL FIX.

DEFROST QUIT WORKING..AIR BLOWS OUT OF ALL OTHER VENTS BUT NOT DEFROST

THE LOCKS KEEP LOCKING & UNLOCKING, SOMETIMES AFTER GETTING THE FEELING THAT THE CAR WAS BUMPED, WHICH IT WASN'T. LATELY IT ALMOST STALLS THEN ACCELERATES TOO QUICKLY & MAKES A REVVING SOUND. I'M NOT DRIVING IT RIGHT NOW. THE BUMPING & LOCKS ON & OFF HAPPEN WHILE DRIVING OR WHILE STOPPED.I CAN'T GIVE A DATE. IT'S BEEN HAPPENING FOR COUPLE OF MONTHS. THANK YOU

WENT OUT AND STARTED CAR UP. CAR WAS SHAKING AND SERVICE STABILITRAC AND SERVICE TRACTION CONTROL WERE ON THE DASH SCREEN. THIS HAPPENED BACK IN DECEMBER AS WELL AND THEN THE CAR EVENTUALLY STOPPED WORKING ALTOGETHER.

I DROVE THE CAR ABOUT 54,000 MILES WITH THE REPLACED ENGINE AND IT TOO STARTED RUNNING HOT EVERYTIME I WOULD DRIVE IT ABOUT A MILE DOWN THE ROAD. THE DASH LIGHT WOULD SAY TURN A/C OFF AND IDLE ENGINE OR TURN OFF ENGINE DUE TO HIGH TEMPERATURE. I STARTED THAT THERE WAS A PART THEY FIXED AND I DON'T KNOW WHAT I IT IS CALLED, BUT THE BLACK CAP THAT IS DIRECTLY BEHIND THE AREA WHERE YOU PUT THE MOTOR OIL IS WHERE THEY SAID IT WAS OPENED (IT HAD A BUBBLE OR IT HAS SMALL PART OF THE RUBBLE HAD CAME UP. TIRE MONITOR SYSTEM, I HAVE HAD PROBLEMS WITH THIS SYSTEM EVER SINCE I PURCHASED MY CAR. EVERY ATTEMPT TO FIX IT HAS BEEN UNSUCCESSFUL. WHEN THE DEALERSHIP RESETS IT, IT GOES WONKY AND DISPLAYS INCORRECT INFO ABOUT TIRE PRESSURE AND LOCATION OF TIRE WITH THAT PRESSURE. THIS SEEMS TO ME TO BE A SAFETY ISSUE AS IT IS APPARENTLY IMPORTANT TO THE SYSTEM TO DISPLAY IT ON MY SERVICING SCREEN (AND AFFECTS MY GAS MILEAGE THAT AFFECTS MY EMISSIONS)!
