AFTER STARTING CAR, TRANSMISSION WILL NOT SHIFT OUT OF PARK. REPEATED ATTEMPTS TO PRESS BRAKE LEVER AND TO SHIFT FROM PARK, FINALLY WORKS. PROBLEM IS INTERMITTENT AND IT WAS REPORTED TO THE DEALER SERVICE DEPARTMENT. *TR
CAR IS STUCK IN PARK AND WONT GO IN GEAR. *TR
TRANSMISSION IS LOCKING IN PARK. SAFETY REQUIRES PRESSING THE BRAKE TO START ENGINE, THEN INTERLOCK SHOULD ALLOW THE CAR TO BE PLACED INTO DRIVE OR REVERSE. INSTEAD THE SHIFTER LOCK IS PREVENTING THE CAR FROM BEING PLACED INTO ANY GEAR. THE SHIFTER IS LOCKED IN PARK. *JS

THE VEHICLE WILL NOT SHIFT OUT OF PARK. YOU HAVE TO SIT THERE WAITING FOR IT LET YOU MOVE THE GEAR SHIFT. *TR
VEHICLE WILL NOT SHIFT FROM PARK TO DRIVE. VEHICLE SHIFT LEVER WILL NOT ALLOW MOVEMENT FROM PARK. VEHICLE IS UNABLE TO MOVE. REPEATING THE FOLLOWING PROCEDURE, REPEATEDLY, WILL EVENTUALLY ALLOW SHIFT LEVER TO MOVE FROM THE PARK POSITION TO DRIVE: EXIT / RE-ENTER VEHICLE, WAIT 10 SECONDS, PLACE FOOT ON BRAKE PEDAL, PRESS IGNITION SWITCH, MOVE SHIFT LEVER, REPEATEDLY UNTIL SHIFT LEVER MOVES OR PLACE VEHICLE IN "ACCESSORY" MODE AND ATTEMPT TO MOVE SHIFT LEVER. ALL STEPS MAY BE NEED REPEATED ATTEMPTS. NO FORCE, BEYOND TYPICAL USE OR PRESSURE TO MOVE SHIFT LEVER, IS APPLIED. PROBLEM IS PRESENT IN ANY TYPE OF WEATHER, TIME OF DAY. SURFACE IS FLAT AND LEVEL. VEHICLE NOT PARKED ON INCLINE SURFACE. VEHICLE IS NOT ABUSED, RACED, OR DRIVEN IN HIGH-PERFORMANCE MANNER. VEHICLE IS NOT DRIVEN ON A DAILY BASIS. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 CHEVROLET CORVETTE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE GEAR SHIFTER FAILED TO SHIFT OUT OF PARK UNTIL AFTER NUMEROUS ATTEMPTS. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE PROBLEM. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 30,000.
MY 2005 C6 CORVETTE SHIFTER IS INTERMITTENTLY STUCK IN PARK, UNABLE TO BE MOVED FROM PARK. IT HAPPENS AT THE MOST INOPPORTUNE TIMES AND I AM FEARFUL IT WILL LEAVE ME STRANDED NECESSITATING A TOW TO THE DEALER. SO FAR I HAVE BEEN ABLE TO MOVE THE SHIFTER FROM PARK AFTER 10-15 MINUTES OF "PLAYING WITH THE SHIFTER". THIS HAPPENS 3-4 TIMES PER WEEK, INTERMITTENTLY. *TR
OUR CAR IS A GARAGE QUEEN AND USED VERY INFREQUENTLY, ITS ON A BATTERY CHARGER AND FLUID CHANGES DONE ANNUALLY. WE NOTICED THE CAR WOULD NOT MOVE OUT OF PARK AND INTO ANY GEAR. (IE. STUCK IN PARK). IT FINALLY RELEASED AND MOVES FREELY INTO ANY GEAR HOWEVER WHEN PLACED BACK INTO PARK THERE IS NO LOCKING TO AVOID CONSOLE MOUNTED GEAR SHIFTER FROM BEING BUMPED INTO GEAR. BY LAW THERE IS SUPPOSE TO BE A BRAKE/GEAR/LOCK IN ALL CARS TO AVOID THIS. UNFORTUNATELY THE BRAKE PEDAL NEITHERS STOPS OR HELPS THE GEAR SELECTOR FROM MOVING FREELY. MULTIPLE ONLINE COMPLAINTS SUGGEST ENTIRE SHIFTER NEEDS REPLACEMENT DUE TO SOLENOID ISSUE. REPAIR IS OVER 1000.00 FOR SMALL PART AND EFFECTS ENTIRE MODEL YEAR WITH NO RECALL ISSUED TO DATE. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 CHEVROLET CORVETTE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE ACTIVE HANDLING SYSTEM LIGHT REMAINED ILLUMINATED AND HE WAS UNABLE TO SHIFT OUT OF PARK. THE KEY HAD TO BE TURNED TO ACCESSORY IN ORDER TO SHIFT FROM PARK. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO SEVERAL DEALERS TO HAVE A DIAGNOSTIC PERFORMED. THE BRAKE SWITCH, THE TRANSMISSION CONTROL MODULE, AND THE BRAKE SWITCH WERE REPLACED BUT THE FAILURE WAS NOT CORRECTED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 80,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 85,000.
SQUEAKING NOISE FROM ENGINE ACCESSORY DRIVE BELTS, CLUNKING/ KNOCKING NOISE AT LOWER FRONT OF ENGINE. THE CRANK SHIFT BLANCER SPLIT APART MOVING BACK TO THE ENGINE. DAMAGE TO THE TIMING CHAIN COVER AND OIL PAN CAUSING OIL TO LEAK.
WHILE TURNING IN A CORNER ON THE HIGHWAY, I LOST POWER STEERING AND I HAD SMOKE AND DEBRIS FLYING OUT OF THE BACK OF THE CAR. LUCKILY THERE WAS NOBODY NEAR ME, AND I MANAGED TO STEER OFF THE ROAD SAFELY. LOOKED IN THE ENGINE AND THE ACCESSORY BELT WAS SHREDDED, WHICH ALSO DESTROYED THE HEAT SHIELD MATERIAL ON THE INSIDE OF THE HOOD. GOT A FRIEND TO PICK ME UP AND WE INSTALLED A NEW BELT. DROVE 0.5 MILES AND THE BELT FLEW COMPLETELY OFF THIS TIME. POWER STEERING COMPLETELY DIED, AND I COULD BARELY TURN THE WHEEL WHILE BEING TAILGATED BY CARS. COOLING SYSTEM FAILED, COOLANT FLYING ALL OVER THE ENGINE BAY, UNDER THE CAR, AND ON THE HIGHWAY. I'M GLAD I WASN'T KILLED. CHECKED ALL THE PULLEYS AND FOUND THAT THE CRANKSHAFT PULLEY BOLT HAD BACKED OUT, WHICH I LATER FOUND OUT CAUSED WOBBLE ON THE BELT...
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 CHEVROLET CORVETTE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING UP A RAMP AT SPEEDS OF 45 MPH, THE LEFT REAR WHEEL LOCKED CAUSING THE VEHICLE TO SPIN AND VEER OFF OF THE ROAD. THERE WERE NO WARNING LIGHTS PRECEDING THE FAILURE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT HE DEACTIVATED THE MANUAL ACTIVE HANDLING PROGRAM AND WAS ABLE TO DRIVE THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING. THE VEHICLE WAS LEFT IN POSSESSION OF THE DEALER AND THE CONTACT WAS AWAITING A DIAGNOSIS OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 32,000.

DRIVELINE TUNNEL BRACE WELD FAILED CAUSING MASSIVE DRIVELINE DAMAGE TO HOUSING AND DRIVESHAFT REPLACEMENT. *TR

CHEVROLET 2005 CORVETTE. APROX.40,000 MILES DRIVING UNDER NORMAL CONDITIONS. DRY/SUNNY. DRIVING SLOWLY IN MORNING RUSH HOUR TRAFFIC. CHANGING FROM FIRST TO SECOND GEAR. PEDAL LOST PRESSURE, SANK TO THE FLOOR. SLAVE CYLINDER, HYDRAULIC CLUTCH FAILURE. LINE RUPTURED, SQUIRTIG BRAKE FLUID ALL OVER HOT EXHAUST MANIFOLD, BLOCK, HEADS, FIREWALL. FLUID CAUGHT FIRE . SEEN SMOKE WITHIN TWO SECONDS AFTER PEDAL SANK TO THE FLOOR. POPPED HOOD SEEN FLAMES. WAS ABLE TO PUT OUT. SEEMS TO BE VERY DANGEROUS , GENERIC DESIGN AND PARTS QUALITY. CAR IS AT THE SHOP AS I WRITE THIS. MECH REMOVED SLAVE MASTER LINE ASSEMBLY. IT SEEMED TO BE INFERIOR FOR HEAT AND PRESSURE. MOST WAS PLASTIC AND HELD TOGETHER WITH A PLASTIC CLIP. IF ANY OF THE PLASTIC CRACKS OR FAILS, BREAK FLUID COULD SPRAY ALL OVER YOUR HOT EXHAUST MANIFOLD. SUCH AS IN MY CASE. *TR
