THE BOLT STOPPED PROVIDING POWER WHEN I WAS DRIVING DOWN A 4 LANE FREEWAY. IT HAS ALREADY FAILED 3 TIMES IN THE PAST, THIS IS THE 4TH TIME.
DESPITE HAVING A FULLY CHARGED BATTERY, WHEN WE PARKED OUR VEHICLE, IT WOULD NOT START. THE ENTIRE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM WAS DOWN. WE JUMPED THE STARTER BATTERY AND THAT PROVIDED ENOUGH POWER TO ALLOW US TO SHIFT INTO NEUTRAL SO THAT WE COULD HAVE THE CAR TOWED. AFTER A WEEK, AND MULTIPLE CALLS TO THE ENGINEERS IN DETROIT, THE DEALER HAS STILL NOT BEEN ABLE TO DETERMINE THE PROBLEM.MY CONCERN IS THAT THEY ARE ATTEMPTING TO REPAIR AN ISSUE WITHOUT HAVING A FULL UNDERSTANDING OF THE PROBLEM. IF THIS ISSUE WERE TO RE-OCCUR WHILE DRIVING AT HIGH SPEED, THE CONSEQUENCES COULD BE CATASTROPHIC, AS THE CAR WOULD IMMEDIATELY COME TO A STOP AND ALL CONTROL MIGHT BE LOST. I DON'T GET THE SENSE THAT GM IS TAKING THIS ISSUE SERIOUSLY ENOUGH. THEY SEEM TO BE TREATING THIS LIKE A TECH COMPANY DEALS WITH SOFTWARE ISSUES. THEY ARE SIMPLY WAITING FOR THE...
I RECEIVED A "CUSTOMER SATISFACTION" CALL FROM CHEVROLET TELLING ME THAT MY CAR MAY EXPERIENCE "LOSS OF PROPULSION" AND STOP SUDDENLY WITHOUT WARNING DUE TO LOW CHARGE DESPITE THE BATTERY INDICATOR SHOWING CHARGE. THIS PROBLEM HAS BEEN ONGOING FOR 8 MONTHS AND IS AN EXTREME SAFETY HAZARD THAT SHOULD BE CATEGORIZED AS SUCH AND LISTED ON THE NHTSA WEBSITE. CONSUMERS SHOULD KNOW ABOUT THIS SAFETY ISSUE BEFORE PURCHASING THE VEHICLE, BUT NOW CAN ONLY FIND OUT IF THEY BUY THE CAR AND HAVE A VIN. I HAVE BEEN CONSTANTLY CHARGING THE VEHICLE TO AVOID THE PROBLEM BUT AM TERRIFIED TO DRIVE THE CAR. PLEASE CONDUCT AN INVESTIGATION TO ENSURE CHEVY FIXES THE PROBLEM AND CONSUMERS CAN BE INFORMED.

THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE HAD A FEATURE ON THE DRIVER'S SIDE OF THE STEERING WHEEL THAT SLOWED THE VEHICLE DOWN AND GENERATED ENERGY TO CHARGE THE BATTERY. WHILE DRIVING 25-35 MPH, THE CONTACT UTILIZED THE ENERGY SAVING FEATURE. INSTEAD OF THE VEHICLE SLOWING DOWN, IT ACCELERATED. AS A RESULT, THE CONTACT'S VEHICLE CRASHED INTO ANOTHER VEHICLE. THERE WERE NO INJURIES AND A POLICE REPORT WAS NOT FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TOWED AND THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED AND OFFERED A FREE INSPECTION. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO COMMUNITY CHEVROLET (200 W OLIVE AVE, BURBANK, CA 91502 (888) 295-6276), BUT WAS NOT GIVEN A DIAGNOSTIC TEST BECAUSE AN ERROR WAS NOT FOUND. THE MANUFACTURER OFFERED TO SEND AN INSPECTOR TO EXAMINE THE VEHICLE, BUT THE FAILURE COULD NOT BE DUPLICATED. THE MANUFACTURER DENIED THE CLAIM...
