2023 CHEVROLET BLAZER Forward Collision Avoidance Automatic Emergency Braking Problems

On February 14, 2025, at approximately 0700 hours, I was traveling southbound on XXX, approaching a left turn (eastbound) onto XXX. I was the first vehicle in the turn lane with no other vehicles or pedestrians in front of me. The road conditions were clear, dry, and cold. Upon receiving a green light to proceed with my left turn, I began to accelerate without issue. However, approximately halfway through the turn, my vehicle's pedestrian collision avoidance system was unexpectedly triggered. The red windshield alert light began flashing, accompanied by an audible warning, followed by hard braking. My vehicle came to a stop in the middle of the turn, despite there being no vehicle, pedestrian, or any other object in my path. The driver-side half-shaft disengaged from the transmission. This caused a roll away of the vehicle when it is thought to be securely in "park" gear cuasing a frontal colisión.

The contact owns a 2023 Chevrolet Blazer. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed and making a left turn, the vehicle unexpectedly came to a complete stop for several seconds, and then was able to continue driving. An unknown warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, but the cause of the failure could not be determined. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure recurred on several occasions. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 100.

I was turning left at an intersection on 5/5/23 and the brakes locked up for no reason. As I entered the intersection the vehicle flashed the automatic emergency braking lights and locked up the brakes as I turned left. The lane in front of me was perfectly clear and the sudden stop fortunately didn't cause the vehicle behind me to rear end me. My wife and I were totally shocked and confused why this happened when there was clearly no obstruction ahead of us or reason to lockup the brakes. This is an absolute flaw and could have caused an accident and/or injury. This ADAS system is very sensitive in my opinion and constantly goes off on parked cars when driving in my subdivision. This I guess is unavoidable but the incident that happened is not explainable or acceptable!
