We are the original Owner of a 2023 BMW X7 with 17,500 miles. The past 2+ months the screen/display will go blank for up to 30 seconds while driving the vehicle. Obviously this is a serious safety issue. We took the vehicle for service where it was originally purchased at BMW I will say, this issue is very disappointing, scary, and disturbing. The vehicle was originally brought into service on 7/3 and no resolution for the problem has been presented as of yet. According to the Service Advisor, multiple software updates have been applied and the screen/display has been replaced twice, still no resolution. Brought back into Dealership on 7/23/2025 for the same repeated and dangerous issue Brought back again on 8/3/2025 for the same repeated issue. We were promised it was fixed. Drove the car 4 hours, and once again the screen/display went blank.

On June 29th, 2023 at approximately 8:45 AM we were pulling into a parking space slowly tapping the brakes to slow and stop the vehicle. About 2/3 of the way into the parking stall around 3 or 4 feet from the curb, the vehicle actually accelerated while pressing the brake jumping the curb. We pressed on the brakes again and the car accelerated even faster crossing the sidewalk crashing into a building. We believe the brakes caused the SUA (Sudden Unintended Acceleration) accelerating the vehicle twice and the vehicle failed to apply the brakes. We believe this would've been caused by a computer error on the vehicle. We also believe the vehicle to initiate the two safety systems failed, Crash Imminent Braking & Dynamic Brake Support thus being able to avoid the accident. To the best of our knowledge, no warnings or alerts were displayed on the vehicle before the...
Our vehicle dies while driving down the highway, twice now in less than 30 days. I drivetrain and low-power warning came on, but the car died and wouldn't start. The obvious risk is that we were driving on the highway and barely avoided being in an accident as I tried to steer us off the road. The second time we were at a park. In both instnances, the temperature was over 100 degrees and my 3 and 5 year old both got sick from overheating. We were stranded in the middle of nowhere. The dealership said "it probably just overheated, we couldn't find anything" but assure us it won't happen again. It did less than 30 days later.
I have owned this vehicle for under 6 months. The brakes stopped working and have had to have car towed into shop now twice due to the car not being able to be started due to error codes. When the brake issues occured you would press them and it would barely stop and create a very unsafe situation.
The contact owns a 2023 BMW X7. The contact stated while driving 45-50 MPH, the message "Unable to Drive" and SOS messages were displayed. The vehicle then came to a complete stop, almost causing a crash. The contact turned off and restarted the vehicle and the vehicle responded as needed, and the contact was able to drive to the residence. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and advised the contact not to drive the vehicle and to take the vehicle to the local dealer for assistance. The vehicle was towed to the dealer, where it was diagnosed that an unknown software update needed to be completed. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 5,858.
