MY SWITCHES, RIGHT&LEFT, BOTH FAILED FOR THE 2ND TIME IN ABOUT 3 YEARS. MY RIGHT SIDE SWITCH FAILED WHILE I WAS RIDING MY BIKE, CAUSING ITS STALLING! SO ABOVE AND BEYOND THE SWITCH ISSUES, THE STALLING ISSUE IS THE MOST ANNOYING AS THAT CAN DIRECTLY EFFECT YOUR SAFETY. I THINK A COUPLE K1300S DRIVERS HAVE REPORTED CRASHES BECAUSE OF IT. THAT IS CERTAINLY NOTHING TO BE DOWNPLAYED. YOU KNOW WHY REPORTS ARE COMING OUT NOW THAT BMW IS FINALLY LOOKING INTO THE PROBLEM? BECAUSE PEOPLE FILED THE REPORTS, COMPLAINED ON THE FORUMS AND CALLED BMWNA TO SEE WHAT THE HECK WAS GOING ON AND FOR THEM TO GET OFF THEIR ARZSSES! NO RESPONSE FROM THE LEFT AND RIGHT TURN SIGNALS, HORN, ELECTRICAL WINDSHIELD, CRUISE CONTROL. AN INTERNATIONALLY KNOWN ISSUE ON THIS BMW BIKE. SURPRISED THERE IS NO RECALL ISSUED YET! BMW DEALER CHARGES OVER $600.00 TO REPLACE THE LEFT HAND MULTI SWITCH PART # 61318546213. *TR
THE SWITCHES ON THE RIGHT HANDLEBAR, FOR THE EMERGENCY ENGINE OFF/ENGINE-START FUNCTIONS FAILED! AS A RESULT ENGINE DANGEROUSLY STALLED WHILE IN MOTION(ALMOST CRASHED MY BIKE), LUCKILY I WAS TRAVELING AT ONLY 30MPH. *TR
APPALLED TO DISCOVER THAT EVEN THE REPUTABLE BMW NO LONGER STANDS BEHIND ITS PRODUCTS! ABOUT 3 YEARS AFTER THE INITIAL PURCHASE (BRAND NEW) FROM AN AUTHORIZED BMW DEALER, RODE MY BMW FOR THE 1ST TIME, ON A RAINY DAY. THE NEXT DAY, BEFORE LEAVING MY GARAGE(I ALWAYS PARKED THIS BIKE IN A COVERED GARAGE) I NOTICED THAT THE RIGHT TURN SIGNAL WAS NOT FUNCTIONING. THE 4 WAY SIGNAL/HAZARD WAS OK THOUGH. ONE WEEK LATER, WHILE RIDING IT FOR THE 2ND TIME IN RAIN, I'VE NOTICED THAT THERE WAS NO RESPONSE FROM THE HORN, LEFT & RIGHT TURN SIGNALS, ELECTRICAL WINDSHIELD, CRUISE CTRL. (SURPRISINGLY THE 4WAY WAS FUNCTIONAL STILL). SINCE THE WARRANTY EXPIRED A FEW MONTHS AGO, THE BMW DEALER CHARGED ME OVER $700.00 TO REPLACE THE LEFT HAND MULTI SWITCH PART # 61318546213. I'VE CALLED BMW ON 7 OCCASIONS TO TRY TO PURSUE THEM TO AT LEAST REIMBURSE ME THE...
ENGINE HAS STALLED NUMEROUS TIMES SINCE NEW. THIRD TIME IN FOR THIS PROBLEM IN A YEAR. THIS CONDITION CREATES A SERIOUS SAFETY HAZARD. IF IT WORSENS, IT WILL SUBSTANTIALLY IMPAIR THE USE OR VALUE OF MY MOTORCYCLE. OCCURS WITH CLUTCH IN OR OUT, IN GEAR & IN NEUTRAL. HAPPENS AT IDLE & AT VARIOUS SPEEDS UP TO 50 MPH.
