Recall 23V772000 — EQUIPMENT:OTHER:LABELS

| 3,460 vehicles affected

Defect: Airstream, Inc. (Airstream) is recalling certain 2019-2024 Interstate 19, Interstate 24, Interstate 24X, Rangeline and Atlas motorhomes. The Federal Certification Label and Tire Placard may indicate incorrect tire pressure and tire size. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 110, "Tire Selection and Rims."

Consequence: Incorrect tire information can result in under-inflated tires or installing the incorrect-size tires, increasing the risk of a crash.

Remedy: Airstream will mail corrected labels, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed December 15, 2023. Owners may contact Airstream customer service at 1-877-596-6505 or 1-937-596-6111 ext. 7401 or 7411.

Recall 20V391000 — SUSPENSION:MULTIPLE AXLE

| 145 vehicles affected

Defect: Airstream, Inc. (Airstream) is recalling certain model year 2020-2021 Airstream Atlas and Interstate motorhomes equipped with VB suspension systems. The lock portion of the countersink bolts attaching the VB Suspension system to the vehicle may be too long preventing the panhard rod bracket from fully contacting the springs, resulting in bolts absorbing the load instead of the bracket.

Consequence: If the bolts carry the load rather than the bracket, it can cause them to break, affecting the vehicle handling and increasing the risk of a crash.

Remedy: Airstream will notify owners, and dealers will replace the suspension bolts, free of charge. This recall began August 26, 2020. Owners may contact Airstream customer service at 1-877-596-6505.

Consequence: Incorrectly fused wires may overheat, increasing the risk of a fire.

Remedy: Airstream will notify owners, and dealers will correct the wiring, as necessary, free of charge. The recall began November 15, 2019. Owners may contact Airstream customer service at 1-877-596-6505 or 1-937-596-6111, extension 7401 or 7411.

Owner Complaints for the 2020 AIRSTREAM ATLAS

3 complaints have been filed with NHTSA for the 2020 AIRSTREAM ATLAS. Below is a breakdown by vehicle component.

Most Recent Complaints

#11705150 | EQUIPMENT:RECREATIONAL VEHICLE/TRAILER | | N/A miles
I am the owner of a 2020 Airstream Atlas motorhome (VIN [XXX] ). The vehicle has a recurring and unresolved slide-out defect that presents a serious safety hazard. While driving at highway speeds, the slide-out repeatedly disengaged and extended approximately 2–3 inches, triggering alarms and forcing me to pull over multiple times to reset the system. This occurred on numerous occasions during a long trip and posed a danger to myself and other motorists. The slide-out defect was documented previously under the prior owner at low mileage and was not permanently repaired. Despite extended repair attempts, the condition persists. After operating the vehicle with this unresolved slide-out defect, structural cracking appeared in the body/roof area of the motorhome. The manufacturer, Airstream, has declined warranty coverage for the cracking despite a formal claim submission. The vehicle has experienced excessive downtime for repairs, no loaner was provided, and the safety defect has not been resolved. I am concerned that the slide-out failure compromises the structural integrity of the motorhome and creates an unsafe condition during normal driving. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)
