Bulletin Summary
Some 2019-2021 Edge/Nautilus/Transit Connect, 2020-2021 Escape/Corsair and 2021 Bronco Sport vehicles equipped with a 8F35 transmission may exhibit an illuminated malfunction indicator lamp (MIL) with diagnostic trouble code (DTC) P0766 stored in the powertrain control module (PCM) and/or intermittent no reverse engagement concerns. This may be due to contamination in the main control valve body separator plate orifice. To correct the condition, follow the Service Procedure steps to clean the contamination from the main control plate.
About Technical Service Bulletins
A Technical Service Bulletin (TSB) is a document issued by a vehicle manufacturer to its dealers, describing a known issue with a specific vehicle or set of vehicles and the recommended procedure to fix it. Unlike recalls, TSBs are not mandatory and are typically only performed if an owner reports the related issue. However, TSBs can be an indicator of common problems with a vehicle.
