Bulletin Summary
On some vehicles, the engine oil appears to be milky white during engine oil inspection or replacement. This is caused by moisture in the blow-by gas mixing with the engine oil when driving repeatedly for short distances in extremely low temperatures. NOTE: Inform the customer that the vehicle engine needs to to warm up to normal operating temperature in extremely cold temperatures to remove the moisture in the engine. Oil change will be covered one time only under Warranty. Customers having this concern should have their vehicle repaired using the following repair procedure.
About Technical Service Bulletins
A Technical Service Bulletin (TSB) is a document issued by a vehicle manufacturer to its dealers, describing a known issue with a specific vehicle or set of vehicles and the recommended procedure to fix it. Unlike recalls, TSBs are not mandatory and are typically only performed if an owner reports the related issue. However, TSBs can be an indicator of common problems with a vehicle.
