Consumer Description

PLASTIC SEAT LATCH AND ACTUATOR BREAKS VERY EASILY CAUSING THE SEAT TO BE IN THE WRONG POSITION POSSIBLY AT THE TIME OF THE BREAK. THE PASSENGER SIDE BROKE AT 32K THEN THE DRIVER'S SIDE BROKE AT 49K.TO FIX THE PROBLEM THE WHOLE SEAT HAS TO COME APART SO THE LABOR IS AROUND 2 HRS THEN COST AROUND $245 TO FIX AND SOON TO BREAK AGAIN. THE ACTUATOR NEEDS TO BE OF A STRONGER MATERIAL. A DISCUSSION PAGE FOR S-10 OWNERS ZR2.COM HAS 2 PAGES OF COMPLAINTS ON THIS ONE ITEM. THIS INFERIOR PLASTIC PART NEEDS TO BE RECALLED! GM DOES NOT WANT TO RECALL THIS BECAUSE THE S-10'S ARE NO LONGER IN PRODUCTION. PLEASE HELP US SOLVE THIS PROBLEM BY RECALLING THIS PART. THANK YOU VERY MUCH.
