NHTSA Complaint #11716952 — 2014 FORD FUSION

The contact owns a 2014 Ford Fusion. The contact stated that while in reverse(R), the rearview camera image was black or distorted. The contact stated that the failure was intermittent. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic however, the failure could not be duplicated. The contact related the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 25V695000 (Back Over Prevention); however, the dealer informed the contact that the repair could not be covered because the VIN was not included in the recall. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not contacted. The failure mileage was approximately 120,000.
