NHTSA Complaint #11697611 — 2015 FORD EXPLORER

The contact owns a 2015 Ford Explorer. The contact received notifications of NHTSA Campaign Numbers: 24V031000 (Structure) and 25V695000 (Back Over Prevention); however, the parts to do the recall repairs were not yet available. The local dealer was contacted, and an appointment was scheduled to have the recall repair performed. After waiting for approximately two hours, the contact was informed that the part was unavailable, and the dealer placed duct tape on the A-pillar trims to prevent the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The contact had not experienced a failure.
