NHTSA Complaint #11697103 — 2015 FORD EDGE

The contact owns a 2015 Ford Edge. The contact received notifications of NHTSA Campaign Numbers: 25V572000 (Back Over Prevention) and 25V544000 (Service Brakes, Hydraulic); however, the parts to do the recall repairs were unavailable. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The contact stated that while driving approximately 25 MPH, the "Brake Fluid Low" message was displayed. The contact inspected the brake fluid and noticed there was brake fluid in the reservoir. The contact added brake fluid to the reservoir, and approximately 5 days later, the message was displayed again. The contact became aware that there was no brake fluid in the reservoir. The vehicle was taken to a certified mechanic, who diagnosed a fracture in the brake hose, which caused a leak. The vehicle was not repaired. The dealer was contacted and confirmed that there were no parts for the recall. The manufacturer was not made aware of the issue. The failure mileage was approximately 146,000.
