NHTSA Complaint #11693641 — 2013 FORD F-150

The contact owns a 2013 Ford F-150. The contact stated that the rearview camera displayed a black or green screen while the vehicle was shifted in reverse(R). The contact stated that the failure obstructed the driver's visibility, which prevented the driver from safely operating the vehicle. The contact stated that the image was located on the rearview mirror. No warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer; however, the vehicle was not inspected or repaired. The contact then took the vehicle to an independent mechanic, but the vehicle was not inspected or repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure but offered no assistance. The failure mileage was approximately 50,000.
