NHTSA Complaint #11692793 — 2024 JEEP WRANGLER

On October 11, 2025, in the morning, shortly after installing a software update recommended by Jeep via the vehicle's infotainment screen panel, I experienced a sudden and complete loss of vehicle power while driving on the road at approximately 45 mph. This failure prevented me from controlling the vehicle, as the steering wheel locked up, causing the vehicle to veer off the road and into a ditch. I was able to restart the vehicle, and it initially appeared to operate normally. However, the same issue recurred within 60 seconds of restarting the engine, with another sudden loss of power and steering control. This defect nearly resulted in a serious collision, posing a significant risk of bodily injury to myself and other motorists on the road. No injuries occurred, but the incident could have been catastrophic at highway speeds. I believe this may be related to a software or electrical defect in the vehicle, potentially linked to the recent update. I request that NHTSA investigate this as a potential safety recall issue, as similar complaints of power loss and steering failures after software updates have been reported in Jeep models.
